5-Star Hotels in Guizhou, China

Staying at Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village for these three nights felt like living among the clouds. I booked three different room types, and each one felt like a custom-made viewing frame. The layered beauty of the Miao village, from the misty mornings to the illuminated 'river of lights' at night, was perfectly framed before my eyes. The biggest surprise was the afternoon tea served daily from 2 PM to 8 PM. Those rose pastries, with their crispy crust enveloping a sweet floral fragrance, left a lingering aftertaste that I still recall fondly. But what truly touched me were the 'people' on this trip. The butler service was impeccable from the moment I arrived at the West Gate. On the way in, they meticulously escorted me and my luggage all the way to my room, and on departure, they handled everything smoothly, allowing me to travel light and simply enjoy the scenery. This kind of thoughtful care made the beauty of the Miao village more than just a landscape; it was a comforting warmth of being truly looked after. Three nights, three perspectives, and consistently thoughtful service. I will definitely be back.

I arrived at the hotel around 6 PM, and the air conditioning in my room was broken. After a lot of hassle, I finally got a new room around 10 PM, but the AC in that one had a terrible, musty and smoky smell. Picture one shows the restaurant, and for a supposed 128 RMB breakfast, it offered instant fried noodles and similar items – definitely not what you'd expect from a five-star hotel. The zoo next to the restaurant was a novel idea though, and one of the staff members there was very nice. However, I think the hotel should focus more on its core business. I wanted to go to the pool on the 5th floor, but you have to walk through a row of shops to get there, making me wonder if it's outsourced. It felt less like a hotel and more like an old-fashioned entertainment arcade. The lifeguard at the pool was even on their phone with headphones on… The management of this hotel really isn't five-star quality. Accor's standards are far too inconsistent.

This is a five-diamond hotel located within the Xiaoqikong Scenic Area. It's actually a few hundred meters past the old east gate of the scenic area, right before Wangmeng Town. The location is excellent, very close to the Xiaoqikong Bridge and Laya Waterfall. Xiaoqikong has changed a lot; shuttle buses now operate within the scenic area, which is very convenient for tourists, though it has somewhat diminished the unique charm of the original forest edge landscapes. Since it wasn't peak season this time, the hotel price was quite favorable, which was nice. We had a bit of bad luck this trip; it had rained heavily in Libo a few days prior, so the water in Xiaoqikong, though clean, had a yellowish tint. It lacked the characteristic clear turquoise and deep blue hues we'd seen in different sections of the river in the past. The hotel's service was excellent. The sink in the bathroom was a bit clogged, and after one phone call, maintenance staff arrived immediately to fix it. Turns out, a previous guest had thrown a piece of clear adhesive from a band-aid into the basin, which got stuck with hair further down, blocking the drain. It's a shame that some guests have such poor etiquette; a thoughtless act like that can cause problems for others. The hotel breakfast was decent, with a good variety of local Guizhou specialties and standard breakfast options. The only downside was the bacon and Western-style sausages. Guizhou lacks companies that produce high-quality Western sausages, and those generally made in China are often just mediocre. I'd suggest Guizhou consider introducing enterprises like Germany's Schindele to produce high-quality Western sausages, bacon, and other products using Guizhou's excellent pork, beef, and lamb as raw materials. Supplying these to major hotels would elevate the dining experience in Guizhou and even the entire Southwest region. Furthermore, Guizhou Dragon's cured and smoked products are excellent. Perhaps they could offer spicy sausages, cured pork, and braised pork made from Congjiang fragrant pigs to consumers, which might better showcase the unique flavors of Guizhou cuisine than some of the bland, uninspired products currently available.

When I came to Huangguoshu, I stayed at the high-end Auvi Hotel, which is close to the high-speed rail station. The experience was very good. From the moment I arrived at the hotel, I felt that the hotel service staff was professional and attentive. The front desk girl was quick and efficient and quickly completed the check-in procedures for me. The elevator was close to the lobby. The fragrance of this hotel was good, which was the smell I liked. There were many rooms. Fortunately, the instructions upstairs were clear, and I found the room quickly. The room was relatively new and should be well maintained. I heard from the front desk girl that it had been open for more than 5 years. I have a habit of paying special attention to hygiene details when staying in a hotel. After putting down my luggage, I checked the hygiene around the room. It was not bad, and I did not find any unqualified hygiene conditions. The quality of sleep was good that night. Breakfast was on the 10th floor. I like the decoration style of the restaurant. The Western style has a simple taste. There are many types of breakfast with local characteristics. I tried the spicy chicken powder, which tasted good. The chef cooked vegetables attentively. Next time I come to Anshun, I will stay in this hotel again.

We embarked on a 14-day trip to Guiyang this time. We took a direct bus from Zhenyuan Ancient Town bus station to the East Gate of Fanjingshan. After a short walk of a few minutes, crossing the Heiwuan River Wind-Rain Bridge, which spans the Taiping River and features typical Dong ethnic architectural style, we arrived at the hotel. I'd say the transportation was incredibly convenient. During check-in, we met front desk attendant Xiao Le (No. 02). He was very enthusiastic and smiling, taking our two pieces of luggage and escorting us to our room. He also presented us with complimentary welcome fruits and shared a Fanjingshan travel guide, which we found very touching. Since this was our first time in Guizhou and we were traveling independently, we weren't very familiar with the transport connections. Before our trip, I called the front desk to ask which Fanjingshan gate the hotel was closest to. The person who answered the phone was impatient, said they were busy, and hung up after just a couple of words. It's the same hotel, yet due to differing service attitudes, guests experience very different feelings. If Guizhou wants to develop its tourism industry, even with the national government building highways right to its doorstep, the service awareness still needs significant improvement.

Zhijin Resort is a peaceful retreat surrounded by beautiful mountain scenery. The rooms are clean, spacious, and designed for comfort, with many offering stunning views of the natural landscape. The resort has a calm, welcoming atmosphere, making it perfect for relaxation after a day of exploring. Staff are friendly and attentive, always ready to help. The dining options include both local and international dishes, which adds to the convenience of staying on-site. While it’s located a little outside the city center, the serene environment and fresh air make it well worth the stay.

My friends and I chose this hotel for a concert, and it was a fantastic experience! The front desk staff were warm and attentive. Check-in was quick and efficient, and they thoughtfully recommended suitable restaurants and attractions nearby. Our room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was comfortable. What truly impressed us was the hotel's service team's attention to detail, like helping us with our luggage and showing us to our room while explaining the facilities. This feeling of being valued made our whole trip so much warmer. The hotel has excellent amenities; our room was spacious and bright, equipped with air conditioning, a TV, and high-speed Wi-Fi, meeting all our needs as friends traveling together. The gym and swimming pool also offered more options for relaxation during our free time. Most importantly, it was just a few minutes' walk from the venue – incredibly convenient! The hotel's price was also very reasonable, offering exceptional value for money, completely exceeding our expectations. If my friends and I travel together again, we will definitely choose this hotel!

Came to Huangguoshu Waterfall with friends and chose the Four Points by Sheraton, which exceeded our expectations in every way. The hotel grounds are beautifully landscaped and green, very quiet and relaxing, perfect for a vacation. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the facilities are well-maintained. The hotel offers a free shuttle bus to and from the visitor center, saving us the hassle of taking a taxi. The staff were friendly and attentive. It's suitable for both exploring the scenic area and simply relaxing. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit.

Before we even checked in, the customer service team reached out to confirm our arrival time and sent us a lot of helpful information. On the day we arrived, our butler was already waiting for us at the ticket gate and helped us with our luggage all the way – we really appreciate it! After checking in, the butler gave us a detailed overview of the scenic routes and activities available at the B&B, showing incredible care, patience, and responsibility 👍. Even after checking out, they helped us take our luggage to the entrance, truly going above and beyond! The B&B's location is also fantastic – no stairs to climb; you get off the sightseeing bus right there. It's perfectly situated by the observation deck with unbeatable views. Our only regret is that our stay was too short this time, and we didn't get to fully experience everything. We'll definitely be back!

The hotel is a 15-minute drive from Huangguoshu Waterfall Scenic Area and is built against the mountains, offering incredibly beautiful views. We booked a large suite on the top floor, and its terrace provided direct views of the bridge and mountain scenery. Waking up in the morning felt like being in a fairyland. Unfortunately, we experienced a power and water outage due to a heavy rainstorm at night, but the staff immediately carried out emergency repairs. Although it delayed our shower, the hotel thoughtfully offered a discount the next day as compensation, which showed great sincerity. Therefore, I highly recommend this charming hotel.
