An introduction to zebra mussels as an aquatic invasive species, touching on their biology, ecology, and distribution. The focus will then turn to their invasion history in North America and Manitoba and in closing talking about prevention, mitigation, and eradication (it’s not good news).
Presented by :
  Dr. Hasler who is a full professor and acting chair of biology at the University of Winnipeg. His research program encompasses fish biology and aquatic conservation and is supported by provincial and national grants. He has co-edited two books and written nearly 100 peer-reviewed journal articles. He completed graduate work at Queen’s University and Carleton University, and prior to moving to Winnipeg in 2017, was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Illinois – Urbana/Champaign.

Went here twice in the last two weeks, had lunch at Beachcomber, great salads, lots of choice. Renovated inside folks. The dining area is impressive. Always bustling, colorful, neat shops, pedestrian street outside make it a pleasant place to visit. An underground car park, hard to find parking. Also no free parking in the level car park, what?
