The Cheyney Alumni D.C. Metro (DMV) Chapter is excited to formally invite you to our annual Crab Feast Fundraising event. Come join us as we will have tasty crabs as well as scrumptious gourmet dishes that include: choice roast sirloin of beef, sweet corn, homemade crab soup, homemade soup du jour, fried chicken, baked zit, fried fish, macaroni and cheese, baked beans, mashed potato and gravy, string beans, potato salad, seafood salad, tomato and mozzarella salad, fresh salad bar, fresh fruit, assorted sheet cakes and coffee/tea stations. We will also have bottomless wine and beer for your beverage enjoyment. In addition, we have soft drinks and non-alcoholic frozen drinks for consumption. DJ FLAVA will be providing the fun and soulful soundtrack for this celebratory occasion. This event always has great food, people, and fantastic music to bring all the elements together for a great time. One of the main imperatives of the Cheyney Alumni DMV Chapter mission is to provide financial support for Cheyney University and its students. Greenbelt, Maryland, a National Historic Landmark planned community, was built in 1937 as part of Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal. The town was designed as a garden city that would be a model of modern town planning and cooperative living in America. It features notable Streamline Moderne and International-style architecture, fine examples of WPA-era outdoor sculpture, and an innovative design that includes walking paths that connect the homes to green spaces and the town center. We invite you to explore Greenbelt’s rich history which continues to shape the community to this day. This tour leaves from the museum's temporary orientation center at 10-A Crescent Road. and takes approximately 90-120 minutes. Guests will view the museum's orientation film prior to leaving on the walking tour, and will be given the chance to view the interior of the Greenbelt Museum at the tour's conclusion. The tour involves walking outdoors, so please dress accordingly and wear sensible footwear. Space is limited to 12 participants. Walking tours are not conducted in thunder/lightning or snow storms or if the temperature is below 32 degrees or above 95 degrees.
