Have you ever watched “Whose Line is It Anyway” and wanted to know how the performers can expertly improvise songs in so many specific genres? Here’s your chance to find out! In this three-hour workshop, you’ll learn how to approach musical genres and styles in improvised songs from the legend behind the Whose Line keys. Rick and Laura Hall will teach you how to use vocal stylization in a range of genres and how to use movement to enhance those styles. This workshop will look at some genre-based Whose Line classics, such as Irish Drinking Song and Hoe Down, before delving into full songs in a variety of genres and styles. This is an ideal workshop for any musical improviser looking to expand their repertoire of genres and to understand more deeply the specific vocal and movement choices that underpin those genres. Who Is Eligible: This workshop is for intermediate or advanced musical improvisers–those who have taken a musical improv class and/or have had experience performing musical improv. Maximum Capacity: In order to ensure the best possible experience for those taking part, we are capping this workshop at a maximum of 15 total students. Location: This workshop will be held at the Endgames Improv training center at 2989 Mission St, San Francisco. Date & Time: This workshop will take place on Friday, July 11 from 7:00 - 10:00PM. About the Teachers: Laura Hall (Musical Director, “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”, The Second City Chicago) and her husband, Rick Hall (Actor, “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, The Second City Chicago) teach musical improv workshops for all levels. Take your improvised songs to the next level in this workshop focused on advanced musical and movement skills. 2nd Annual Deadlift Competition | FITNESS SF Transbay

Our 2nd Annual Deadlift Competition will take place on Saturday, July 12th, 2025 from 12 PM until 4 PM. The Athletic Training Center of our Transbay Gym will be the venue for this exciting event. This is located at 425 Mission St., Suite 212, San Francisco. Competitors of all skill levels are welcome to join. Rules will be coming out soon. In this intensive workshop, Laura & Rick will help you understand how to naturally extend your scene work into musical improv through character, emotion and relationships and apply those skills to longform shows. This is an ideal workshop for any musical improviser looking to take their longform skills to the next level. In addition to focusing on heightening scenes to grow into rich and interesting songs, the workshop will cover other key skills that allow you to deliver on those songs. This workshop will culminate in a performance of a longform musical montage, providing students a chance to demonstrate their new skills for an audience. Date & Time: This six hour workshop will take place on Sunday, July 13 and be split into a morning session from 11:00am to 2:00PM and an afternoon session from 3:00pm - 6:00PM, followed by a performance by all workshop students at 8:00PM. Who Is Eligible: This workshop is for advanced musical improvisers–those who have completed a musical improv program and have had experience performing musical improv.
