Sunderland
From December to January, we’re bringing six open access taster sessions to libraries in and around Sunderland, for anyone to learn about writing scripts for TV. Led by local actor and screenwriter Chess Tomlinson, ‘Screenwriting Stepping Stones’ is a 90-minute dive into everything from structure and formatting, to how to write action, opening scenes and all the moments in between. No screenwriting experience is needed, and those who would like to take their knowledge even further will then be invited to apply for a specialist workshop programme taking place in early 2025. This project is brought to the region in partnership with Culture House Sunderland and is funded by Sunderland City Council and by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Bursary places: We want to support those for whom cost may be prohibitive to attending this workshop.
