BRING YOUR BABY PUB QUIZ @ The Beech House, ST ALBANS, HERTFORDSHIRE (AL1) | The Beech House
Jul 4, 2025 (UTC+1)ENDED
St Albans
NOW TWICE A MONTH! On the 1st Friday of the month and the 2nd Tuesday of the month. Both 12pm-2.30pm. Change of venue to The Beech House as of April 2025.
From the award-winning creator of ‘Bring Your Baby Guided London Walks’, ‘Bring Your Baby Pub Quizzes’ are fun, brain-stimulating daytime parent socials, which take place all over London, the South East, the South West and The Midlands.
Team size is 6 maximum to make it fair on everyone.
Quizzes take a slower pace than traditional ones. We are parents ourselves, and understand juggling a ‘baby brain’ with baby distractions!
Toddlers and older children are welcome, but are the parent or carer's responsibility. Please bring suitable toys and games to entertain them while you quiz!
We take two breaks to feed, change and chat, and questions are always repeated. Settle in with the picture round from 12pm, with a further five quiz rounds (including general knowledge, music, connection and themed) starting at 12.30pm until 2.30pm. Don’t panic if you’re a bit late - we repeat questions.
A lunch menu including vegan and gluten-free options is available.
Baby change is available, including our legendary mobile baby change which means you don't need to leave the quiz to change baby!
A number of high chairs are also available.
Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd places include items such as Prosecco, luxury chocolates and beauty boxes.
Complimentary sweet treats for each table (sealed in packaging).
Important notes:
- Children are the responsibility of the parent or guardian, and must be monitored by them at all times.
- We understand that the parent or guardian will want to keep sleeping babies close to their table in baby carriers (including, for example: prams, buggies or car seats). However if babies are awake we reserve the right to ask the parent or guardian to move their baby carrier into a designated area of the venue to meet health and safety requirements (such as clear access to fire exits and clear walkways).
- Refunds or requests to move to a future event or date must be requested within 24 hours of the event commencing so that we can try to refill the space in adequate time.
- On occasion we take photos or short video clips at our 'Bring Your Baby Pub Quizzes' or 'Bring Your Baby Guided London Walks'. By attending you are giving your permission for these to be used for Bring Your Baby Ltd promotional purposes. Any individual who we have taken a photograph of and published can request that any photographs are removed and deleted at any time. Even if they have given consent when booking according to our terms and conditions, they can of course withdraw their consent and can contact us at Lucy@bringyourbaby.org

Laurie's PleinAir Watercolor Classes:Saturday. 9:00am-11:30am, July 5th | Carolyn Holmberg Preserve at Rock Creek Farm
Jul 5, 2025 (UTC-6)ENDED
Broomfield
July 5
th
: Carolyn Holmberg Preserve at Rock Creek Farm -104
th
St. South of Dillon Rd, Broomfield. NO access from Hwy 287.
There are wide vistas here. The lesson at this location may be determined on weather conditions. We may talk about atmospheric perspective if the mountains are visible. We may paint clouds. It would be fun to paint ducks on the lake if they are there. There is also a nice single tree by the little lake that would be nice to paint. If the weather is a little misty there is a larger, covered picnic shelter there, good parking, nice flat area to walk, restrooms. This area is pretty wide open with only a couple trees, so wear a hat and bring sunscreen.
Instructor: Laurie Adams (
www.loreleiarts.us
)
Adults & Teens
13 and over
–
Minimum 2, maximum 8
Prerequisite:
Some previous watercolor instruction is REQUIRED. (It does not have to have been with Laurie Adams).
NOTE: There may be some walking required to get to the locations, but all locations should be very easy to walk and short distances. The locations descriptions will have details about parking, restrooms, etc.
IMPORTANT: Please provide the instructor with the best way to contact you in the event of inclement weather or location change. Upon signup, the instructor will provide detailed locations and directions, but feel free to contact Laurie with any questions ahead of time as well, about locations. Contact Laurie with your phone number as Eventbrite does not provide the instructors with that information.
Description:
Let’s paint together! Every person learns at different rates and in different ways. This class is for watercolor students who want to continue learning watercolor by working on their own painting projects. Instead of a traditional teacher-lead class this one allows students to work at their own pace. The instructor will begin with a short demo of a certain technique with watercolor that students can choose to practice themselves or use for future art projects. Then there will be plenty of time to work on their own project but with available assistance from Laurie should any questions or issues arise. Questions asked during class about specific projects may also lead to ‘teaching moments’ to discuss certain techniques applicable to the task at hand. Students can watch and learn or continue with on their projects.
The instructor is also open to suggestions on what topics you would like to see at the beginning of each class as it evolves.
This will be a low-pressure class filled with camaraderie and help and encouragement when needed.
Reminder: This is for returning students or students who have taken watercolor lessons before and know the basics. This class is not for students who have never used watercolors before. Please see Laurie’s Beginning Watercolor – the Basics if you want a beginning class.
If this class goes over well and has good attendance, more dates and times may be added in the future.
You do not have to attend every class and can pick and choose which dates you want.
LOCATIONS: (Please be sure to read complete directions and instructions once signed up for further information on these locations or send a message to the instructor.
Bring to class:
Bring your own watercolor supplies. If you don’t have any, I can provide a general guideline. A limited color palette is best. If you do not have a watercolor easel and/or cannot stand for long, you may want to bring a folding chair so you can paint with a palette in your lap. If you have a watercolor easel, that is fine. A regular easel will not work. If you don’t have your own supplies, they can be provided temporarily for a materials fee of $10 per class but I encourage you to eventually gather your own. I can also provide some lap palettes that I have put together.
Plan for the weather:
Wear sunscreen, a hat, long sleeves if you need it, a jacket if it is cooler (especially earlier in the spring in the morning), water if it is hot, a hot drink if it is cold.
BAD WEATHER?: The idea for this class is to try to NOT have to cancel the class. I still plan on having the class if it is a little chilly out. Obviously, if we have a huge amount of snow or torrential rains, it may not be a good idea to have the class. But depending on the location, some places have covered picnic areas for example, so if it is just slightly misty out, we might still have class or choose a slightly different location. Atmospheric weather can result in wonderful watercolor paintings! Also, one of our areas is an urban area, so maybe we choose a coffee shop instead. So, if the weather is bad, I’d like to offer alternative locations, for example, painting at the indoor flea market (with their approval). I also have a large greenhouse at my house, too. If the weather is slightly misty, I also have two large tents. I’m game! Too much wind isn’t great, so that is why it is also good to have backups. I will be on top of the weather reports prior to each class. So, I MUST have current and up to date contact information if any last-minute changes need to be made. If you do want to cancel, please let me know ASAP. I can also transfer the registration to a different date if done BEFORE the start time of the class. I cannot cancel a class AFTER the class time has started. I can only offer time toward another one of my classes.

There are suggested donations to help cover the cost of putting on this tour, including room hires, refreshments, and travel and accommodation costs for the teacher and volunteers. Choosing the higher option includes a donation to support our activities for the benefit of all.
We firmly believe, however, that financial constraints should never be a barrier to participation. If the suggested amount is beyond your means, please choose the lower option or contribute what you can — every offering helps make this event possible for the collective good. Without your honesty and generosity, we wouldn’t be able to make this event happen!

Rhythmic Rituals | Frith Farm
Jul 11, 2025 (UTC-4)ENDED
Scarborough
Rhythmic Rituals
We will start low and slow, let the music lift and move us, shake it out, shake it through, and be delivered again, back to the earth. We’re dancing as a way to digest and integrate our lives, as well as a mode of self-expression and aliveness. We’re dancing as a somatic practice of relating and playing in and with the field. Moving together helps us access the alchemical magic of collective energy, releasing what is no longer serving, clearing these vessels, and welcoming in renewed lifeforce.
Bodie will be our primary DJ with occasional visiting sound magicians. We’ll circle up briefly at the end to close.
6/13 featuring DJ Ka!
To help build the container and keep the fire alive, we invite you to please:
Come for the whole practice. (If you can’t, come anyway. If your body needs to leave, by all means, honor it.)
Refrain from chatting on the dance floor. (This space is for moving together, more than catching up with friends.)
Feel free to bring kiddos. (As long as you or another adult can be attentive to their needs.)
Be aware of the boundaries of the other bodies on the dance floor. We celebrate touch and contact improv, but want to acknowledge the nuance involved in approaching contact non-verbally. Please be in the practice of conscious relating and watch for someone’s no.
