2025 NCCCS Associates in Fine Arts (AFA) Association Conference | North Carolina Museum of Art, Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh, NC, USA
Feb 21–Feb 22, 2025 (UTC-5)
Raleigh
The North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) Associate in Fine Arts (AFA) Association will host their 13th annual statewide conference at the North Carolina Museum of Art (NCMA), February 21-22, 2025. The annual conference brings together educators and administrators in music, theater, visual arts, and art history to share ideas, network, and participate in organized workshops and panel discussions. The theme of this year’s conference is Art: Embodied. The NCMA collection and exhibitions will serve as a catalyst for faculty and administrators to create, connect and reflect on their work in arts education and advocacy. Sessions and workshops will focus on current interdisciplinary issues in arts pedagogy, student success, faculty and student wellness. Conference attendees and association member will continue to strengthen partnerships in the arts community, and the NC Community College system, the UNC system, and NC Independent Colleges and Universities. The North Carolina Museum of Art offers rich opportunities for educators and administrators from across the state to explore contemporary issues in the arts. The NCCCS AFA Association was established to develop articulation agreements between members of the NC Community College System, the University of North Carolina System, and NC Independent Colleges and Universities. The Association focuses on maintaining bilateral transfer agreements and working partnerships for the benefit of all students as they pursue their studies and careers in the arts. The two-day conference will feature a keynote address (TBA), multiple workshops, break-out sessions, and roundtable discussions. The registration fee is $85, which primarily covers the keynote speaker fees and conference production. More information on the conference can be found on the NCCCS AFA Association website.
