Ron Josol is a Filipino-Canadian comedian whose humor blends cultural elements from his upbringing into the context of contemporary urban life. His 25 years in the comedy circuit have seen him nominated for Best Male Comedian and Best Male Performance in Canada, as well as winning the Just for Laughs competition in Ontario in 1998. He has performed internationally at the Kings ‘n Queens festival in Malaysia and Singapore, the Magners Comedy Festival in Asia, the LOL Comedy Festival in the Caribbean, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival and the Maui ALT Comedy Festival. One show, two different sets! For fans of: ambient music, jazz, country, and alternative genres. Bios With “scene stealing guitar playing” (Exclaim, 2020), Ottawa’s Garrett Warner is a highly versatile guitarist, composer, and educator. Since arriving on the scene, Garrett has made a name for himself as a sideman and bandleader alike. He was fortunate enough to study under Roddy Ellias at Carleton University where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree with honours in composition and guitar performance.
He maintains an active performing schedule including regular appearances as a bandleader and sideman alike at internationally renowned festivals such as RBC Bluesfest, TD Ottawa Jazz Festival, Sighisoara Blues Festival, and the Montreal International Jazz Festival. Garrett has also had the pleasure of working with Juno nominees Petr Cancura and Angelique Francis, in addition to Canadian hip-hop heavies Blakdenim, jazz legend Roddy Ellias, evocative folk-jazz quartet Side-Eye & Grace, and most notably a collaboration with Daryll “DMC” McDaniels of Run DMC. Garrett's sophomore release, due out in Spring of 2025, contains 6 soul and Americana-inspired tracks performed in an instrumental, jazz-adjacent idiom. Brampton Arts Organization (BAO)'s Newcomer Creative Exchange program is for newcomer artists, creatives, or cultural workers looking to continue their arts and culture careers in Canada. The program creates a space for these Brampton-based newcomers to gather, network, create, and learn together in a welcoming and supportive environment. For the first session of the 2025 Newcomer Creative Exchange program, we invite local newcomer artists, creatives and cultural workers to join us for the 2025 program launch at the BAO office in Downtown Brampton. Meet fellow participants, network and take part in a beginner friendly drawing workshop led by local artist Kulwant Singh. All the materials needed to take part in the workshop will be provided. Additionally, snacks and beverages will be provided, giving participants the opportunity to mingle and meet each other in a relaxed and casual environment. I hereby agree to indemnify, hold harmless and reimburse for future losses the Releasees against any and all claims, demands or causes of action that I or any one or more of my or their executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors, or assigns may assert or which are in any way connected with my participation in the Activities, and against any costs, including attorneys’ fees, with respect thereto. Such indemnification shall extend to any claim that might be asserted by others against me that also names the Releasees. This Waiver and Release (‘Release”) has been executed voluntarily and knowingly by me with the express intention of affecting the legal consequences of a General Release in accordance with state law. Image and Likeness ReleaseIn consideration for being permitted to participate in the Activities and/or attend the Event, I hereby irrevocably grant to Night City a perpetual, worldwide, unlimited, fully paid-up right and license: (i) for use of any photograph(s), images, recordings, likeness of me, etc., and any related information or data, made or taken by Night City at the Event (“Images”) in promotional materials for the Event, exploitation of the Event, and other general advertising/promotional uses for the Night City brand and ancillary related uses (“Intended Use”), and I furthermore acknowledge and agree that Night City may make any and all uses thereof as it may deem in its sole discretion in connection with the advertising and promotion of Night City and its brand image in any and all media channels whatsoever, including but not limited to the Intended Use.
