Gather - Exhibition Opening Event | Crescent Hill Gallery
Oct 25, 2024 (UTC-5)ENDED
Dundas
Curatorial Statement What does it mean to gather? To gather around, to gather together, to assemble, to accumulate—it’s about closeness and community. This year’s fall exhibition, Gather, celebrates the act of coming together through the appreciation of original art by local and regional Canadian artists. It highlights the myriad ways in which we gather—whether it’s people, information, or ideas. Gathering evokes social practices, rituals, and festive events that are central to every culture, religion, family, and individual. These practices reinforce a sense of identity and continuity within communities. Artists, as members of their own cultures and communities, are adept at communicating ideas and perspectives that invite us to connect and reflect. Through their art, artists gather concepts and present them in ways that foster open dialogue. Each artist’s practice asks its own questions, formulating ideas that drive them to create and connect with their audience. This exhibition aims to link artistic practice with viewer experience, celebrating art’s unique storytelling power. Visitors to this exhibition will enjoy a collector’s preview of Crescent Hill’s fall collection of original works. The pieces span various materials and subjects, yet all represent fresh explorations in color, subject matter, and style. In a world that often leans towards individualism, we aim to celebrate our community of artists and art enthusiasts. This autumn, we invite you to

Nov 17, 2024 (UTC-5)ENDED
Dundas
Saint Stella and Sugar Holiday are thrilled to invite you to experience the graduates of Basics to Bravo: A Burlesque Debut Course making their on-stage debut. The acts being performed at this show were created over the course of five weeks, this fall. Come cheer on these brave and talented individuals as they bare it all. Doors at 1pm. Show at 2pm. SEATS ARE NOT RESERVED OR GUARANTEED and tickets are one price. Be sure to arrive early to get a seat up close to the stage. All tickets purchased online are $20 each. Tickets are $25 (cash) at the door. Accessibility: We regret that this venue is down a very steep set of stairs and therefore is not accessible. However, washrooms are on the same level as the performance area. Parking: There is plenty of paid parking on Dundas St. West as well as large (and affordable) Green P lots off of Pacific Ave. and Keele Ave. Both lots are only one block away from the venue.
