It was nice that the Queenstown branch offered full coverage insurance, but when renting through Trip.com, it was misleading because it advertised a full coverage package. The $4,500 deductible was too small. They need to provide full coverage insurance in advance.
Also, chains are essential in the heavy snowfall in New Zealand's South Island during the winter, but I wasn't informed in advance about the rental, and I was stuck due to road restrictions. Chain rental is a must for winter rentals. Consider it as important as 4WD. I had to drive very dangerously on Lindt and Burkes Pass.
