Adopting a variety of freehand aesthetic design elements, the hotel creates an exclusive stylish accommodation space to meet the social and emotional needs of business travelers with diverse tastes, and incorporates humanistic care into all products and services. Nestled in the heart of Shanghai Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, the hotel is located at the former site of the century-old Sincere Department Store, brimming with nostalgic old Shanghai vibes. It serves Chinese and Western buffet breakfast, and its restaurant gathers distinctive delicacies at home and abroad, including truffle light meals and exquisite afternoon tea, making it an ideal venue for family and friends gatherings. To further upgrade the service experience, we have launched exclusive local experiences: distinctive intelligent short video shooting. The hotel provides cheongsam dressing, makeup and styling services, enabling guests to enjoy vintage Shanghai-style Internet-famous check-ins, Shanghai-themed portrait photography, and immerse themselves in the nostalgic charm of the old Shanghai Bund. Across the river, you can overlook the Oriental Pearl Tower and Shanghai World Financial Center. It is within walking distance to Exit 5, 6 and 19 of People's Square Metro Station (Line 1, 2, 8) and Exit 1 of East Nanjing Road Metro Station (Line 10). Boasting extremely convenient transportation, it offers a pleasant environment and a comfortable free journey for every guest. Yitel is like a beautiful melody played by Chinese and Western musical instruments. It is just like wandering along a forest path, listening to the gurgling stream, cleansing the dust and weariness of the soul.

"The location is great, near to many famous food places and shopping district. However, the hotel room is small, bathroom is small too. The room has a smell of mouldy air con, or clothes not dried with sun kind of smell that lingered for long. They don’t change bedsheets or blanket covers unless requested (we stayed five nights). And after night 3 I requested cos it was dirty. Ordering food and collection of Taobao parcels were easy. Service staff were friendly. So all they need is really a Reno I guess. Oh there is no drop off area for hotel so getting on cabs or didi was a bit difficult but doable."

Hotel near Yu Garden Area,Shanghai
Located in the Huangpu District of central Shanghai, Mercure Shanghai Yu Garden is near the famous Yuyuan Garden. It is within 5 minutes walk to Metro Line 10 Yuyuan Station and Line 8 Laoximen station. The hotel is only 10 minutes away from Xintiandi, Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and the Bund. It is also surrounded by shopping malls and entertainment outlets. The hotel features 223 stylish rooms, a Chinese and French buffet breakfast restaurant and gym, which will be the ideal choice for business and leisure travellers.

"We stayed with two children, and they upgraded us to a Little Yellow Duck themed room, which the kids absolutely loved. The complimentary scheduled shuttle service was a thoughtful touch. On our first day, we wanted to go to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. Just as we were about to call a taxi, the shuttle driver told us he could take us directly and advised us not to bother with a taxi, which was super convenient. Heartwarming late-night snack: We could enjoy a late-night snack after returning to the hotel. They offered mini wontons and mixed noodles. The mini wontons were delicious, and the kids really enjoyed them. Cleanliness: Overall, it was excellent! Minibar all-you-can-drink: There were sodas, and for the kids, oat milk and cookies. The cookies were incredibly tasty! Ordering takeout was also very convenient, with a robot delivering it directly to the room. Another shout-out to the hotel: I accidentally booked an extra room on another platform but forgot about it. The hotel proactively contacted me, which was very considerate, and they even refunded me in the end. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for family travel."

"It was an interesting stay. Great location right off the shopping boulevard. The hotel has a bar and two restaurants. A spa, a foot spa, and gym. We had lounge access which was a nice bonus but not really worth the extra money. You get free breakfast, appetizers from 6-8, and lounge access for coffee and sodas from 1-930. The breakfast was yummy. Offered a wide selection of food with regional dishes to western foods. One of the few places I’ve traveled outside the US that has actual bacon. We never waited but there was a sign saying there were peak hours. Check in was great. I had an issue with a bag left in a DiDi and the front desk agent went out of his way to help me get in touch with driver to recover my bag. The room much like the rest of the hotel feels trapped in that fake opulence that was popular awhile back. The shower was awkward because of its shape but it did have a rain shower which was nice. One of the few hotels I’ve been in lately that didn’t have the bath stuff bolted to the wall (though it probably wouldn’t fit). Huge tub and large fluffy towels. My daughter and I both left with some bug bites from our stay not bed bugs but definitely something. The biggest drawback to the room is the lack of functional outlets. One bed has no open plugs or usb ports the other bed has a wonky extension cord with some usb ports. Found one other usb in the room in the desk area. The hotel is doing some work apparently later this month so hopefully they bring it into this century. One thing I didn’t discover until the next day is there is an entrance from the back of the hotel right on the big shopping street. There’s also a cute little food court right there where you can grab a pretty decent variety of food. One warning is didi and food delivery have a hard time with the address"

"The hotel room is spacious, clean, and large enough to comfortably open two 30-inch suitcases. The room, however, could benefit from better soundproofing, as conversations from guests walking along the corridor can be heard quite clearly. One downside of the hotel is the lift arrangement. Guests staying on Levels 3–5 need to transfer lifts at Level 2, which can be inconvenient, especially when carrying luggage. The hotel provides two complimentary bottles of water daily, but additional bottles are available upon request from the front desk staff. A highlight for guests with long hair is the Laifen hairdryer provided in the room, which dries hair quickly and efficiently. The hotel also offers two types of pillows, including a memory foam option for added comfort. Laundry facilities are available with commercial-grade washers and dryers, though you may need to wait during peak periods, particularly on Sunday evenings. Overall, the hotel offers comfortable rooms and useful amenities, with only a few areas that could be improved."

"Seriously, I can't recommend this Mercure enough! As someone who travels constantly and usually stays in high-quality hotels, I initially booked this place last minute with zero expectations. But I was blown away after checking in. The overall atmosphere is incredibly comfortable and peaceful, with no noise whatsoever. The lobby and hallways are spotless, and the greenery and soft furnishings are tastefully arranged. The decor is a gentle yet elegant French minimalist style, with exquisite detailing and sophisticated, timeless color schemes – every corner is picture-perfect. The biggest highlight is the room view. The panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows offer an unbeatable vista, with an unobstructed view of the city skyline. You can take in the sunrise, sunset, and the city lights at night, and just sitting by the window and zoning out is incredibly therapeutic. The room itself is spacious, the bedding and bathroom facilities are high-quality, and the soundproofing is excellent. Compared to the high-end hotels I usually frequent, this Mercure's overall experience is absolutely on par, and its value for money and the environmental views were an unexpected surprise. Highly, highly recommended!"

After a tiring full day at Disneyland, we arrived at the hotel and were grateful for the room upgrade to a suite. After checking out, we realized we had left a bag behind. A big thank you to staff member #066 who helped us find it and even arranged for it to be couriered home. The service here is absolutely amazing! Thank you very much! ❤️❤️"

DDjay1231I specifically chose this hotel for my trip, and my experience after checking in was absolutely fantastic, earning it a heartfelt five-star rating. Penny's reception was superb! She even prepared a birthday card, room decorations, and a cake. The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient access to transportation in all directions, making it exceptionally easy for sightseeing, shopping, dining, or commuting for business. Upon entering the lobby, you're greeted by an elegant ambiance; the overall decor is grand yet tasteful, and the public areas are consistently clean and tidy, making a great first impression. The front desk staff are professional and enthusiastic. Both check-in and check-out processes were efficient and quick, with no unnecessary waiting. When asking for directions or seeking assistance, everyone was patient and meticulous in their replies, treating guests with humility and politeness, showcasing their high service standards in every detail. The guest rooms are spacious with excellent natural light and ventilation, and the soundproofing is very effective, providing a quiet retreat despite being in a busy area. Room hygiene was impeccable; tabletops, floors, and bathroom corners were all spotless, with no hidden dirty spots. The bedding is soft and comfortable, and the mattress has just the right firmness. After a day of travel, lying down quickly helps you relax, leading to excellent sleep quality. The room is fully equipped with various facilities; appliances and bathroom amenities are well-maintained and provide an excellent user experience. The hotel's overall atmosphere is warm and pleasant; from the hardware facilities to the soft services, you can feel the thoughtfulness in every detail. My entire stay was comfortable and worry-free, and every aspect was flawless. This excellent hotel has already been added to my top choices, and I will definitely stay here again on my next visit. NNingmengfengmiyouzinaiTraveling to Shanghai with my family for the May Day holiday, we chose to stay at the Yangtze Hotel, and instantly, we were transported back to the glamorous old Shanghai of yesteryear 🌃. This historic building, dating back to 1933, is incredibly charming. The colorful dome in the lobby and the vintage carved details everywhere exude an air of elegance. It boasts a prime location in the city center, with convenient subway access to all parts of the city and numerous shopping districts nearby. In the mornings, we enjoyed watching the city come alive, and in the evenings, we'd lean on the balcony, admiring the night view. It was so peaceful and relaxing, washing away all the fatigue from our travels – truly the most healing sanctuary for our May Day trip to Shanghai. The breakfast was varied and delicious, and there were more foreign guests than Chinese, making it feel like we were abroad.

GGuest UserThe hotel is very convenient, directly above DaShiJie metro. The surrounding is rather quiet with a couple of good restaurants nearby. HHaochibuhaochiwanbuwanThe room was spacious with a nice view from the window, giving it an overall open and airy feel. While the facilities are indeed a bit dated, surprisingly, there wasn't the usual musty smell often found in older hotels, which was a plus. However, the pillows were just average; even the firm pillow I requested was still too soft for someone who prefers a firmer pillow. Breakfast was pretty standard, with ordinary taste and variety. The service level also didn't quite match the hotel's overall positioning. In summary, it's perfectly adequate for a business trip, offering good value for money and meeting basic needs. However, for a family trip, the experience would likely be quite average.
