Pengxin Garden Guobin Hotel
4.7/5603 Reviews
Nantong University/Langshan Scenic Area
This hotel is the best in Nantong as far as service, views and food. Let’s start with the service. Upon arrival which was very late, we were greeted by the front desk staff. These ladies were so kind and helpful. They helped my husband and I get settled up and settled in. We were told all the different areas of the hotel including the beautiful pool. The next morning we arrived at the main building for breakfast. It was amazing the options that were available. Western style breakfast was provided. Even cold cereal. Chinese breakfast is also provided. The restaurant has amazing views of the grounds which you can enjoy while having breakfast , lunch or dinner. After breakfast we were given a tour of the upstairs area where you can see the entire hotel and then some. The service person who gave us the tour is a very nice man who also gave us a shuttle ride to the restaurant. Did I say that the staff is amazing? They are the best!!! Our room was upgraded and it has a tub in the bathroom. The views from our room was spectacular. We stayed in the villa suite. It has a living area and a separate bedroom. More than enough room for two people. The hotel is walking distance to Lang Shan mountain/ temple and a lovely park by the river. You can also rent a bike for a ride. The grounds remind me of suburbia USA. Loved it. You can walk forever in the beautiful naturalistic surroundings which include little brooks and ponds. Peaceful and surreal. The architecture of the villas are so beautiful. I felt at home. Our room also had a somewhat of a wrap around balcony to have your morning coffee on. I could on and on about this hotel but you should go see for yourself. You won’t be disappointed. We will definitely go back again and again.
Nanjing Confucius Temple Night Park Qinhuai Junting Hotel

Confucius Temple/Qinhuai River Scenic Area
Location: not in the middle of the centralized area of Confucius Temple, but close enough to walk. About 10 minutes to the Fuzimiao Metro, and 10 minutes to Confucius temple. I appreciated the location because it is much quieter and calmer than the centralized area, and quiet and beautiful along the river. Cleanliness: Considering the hotel seems quite old, it is fairly well maintained. Service: All the staff were very helpful and kind. I am not sure if anyone can speak English though. Since this hotel is only available (from what I could see) on Trip.com or Chinese apps, I only noticed Chinese guests. Nonetheless, all the staff were friendly and courteous. Tea and coffee are available all day along. Facilities: It is a small hotel, but seemed to have all basic the facilities required. At the time of stay, it seemed they were just starting renovations on the outside? Room: We stayed in a room along the street side, not the river side. If you could afford to, I am sure staying along the river side would be worth the price. Naturally, the street side didn’t have much of a view. The street side was quiet though, and the room seemed smaller than I expected (no balcony). The room was neat, and the bed comfortable. My only complaint is that the bathroom sliding door didn’t close properly. Also, a tea set was put on the table, but not tea leaves for the Chinese tea set was offered. (Tea bags and coffee were available though.) If it was just for decoration, I think fresh flowers would be preferred.
Rsun the Lakefort Hotel

Mashan Scenic Area
Relaxing one night stay with a friend, RSun was a perfect place to chill. Thanks to the wonderful service from Turbo, smooth check in and room upgraded to a suite. His spoken English was good and he was very helpful during our stay. The suite was huge, beautifully decorated, comfortable and clean. We made use of the hot springs and enjoyed our time there. We visited in February so the hotel and springs were not busy. Food in the restaurant was delicious local cuisine. We received special dish as it was the last day of the ***** new year holiday. We communicated using a translator app. I would have liked the downstairs bar to be open. There was a good breakfast selection which was refilled. I would choose to stay here again.
Fairmont Yangcheng Lake

Kunshan Yangcheng Lake
Love this Hotel. Discovered it during Covid, when we were not allowed to leave Suzhou! Hospitality is top. The kids love the outside pool, the main reson we stay at Fairmont every year during the Summer Holidays for a few days. The indoor Playground is for me too small, too hot, but, for FREE and my kids age 6-10 can enjoy themselves nevertheless, for hours there! There is a small farm, archery, Go-cart, but we went only once, a bit expensive, the outside pool is enough for them!
Seclusive Life Yangzhou Resort

The resort grounds are beautiful. The room was great with the outside tub. It was very far from town and we could not get a Didi to come there so we had to take a bus to go to splendid west lake. I booked a room that said it came with free flow mini bar, fishing, biking and entry into the wetlands. There was no minibar and when I asked, they brought us two bags of chips and sodas. This is not what I call free flow or a bar. I complained to trip and they eventually sent us a bottle of wine. I never received any info about the fishing or biking, even though I asked. There is no entry fee to the wetlands so I’m not sure why they put this as a perk. Also, the bar out front was closed and the lobby bar only had fruit beer. There was a sign with 20 drinks listed but everything was out. The restaurant was amazing and the most positive experience. Great food and the staff were lovely. Breakfast was awesome. The restaurant had beverages but they do not open until 6 PM. I would not stay here again based on my experience.

Guanqian Street/Pingjiang Street/Downtown
Great location, stone throw away from Pingjiang Road and easy transport to local famous tourist attractions. Friendly staff, great service, willing to help. Of course don't expect everyone knows English. The only downside is also location. Difficulty to call taxi during rush hour cos no one wants to drive this crazy congested road.
Suisse Apartment Hotel Suzhou Jinji Lake Expo Center

East of Suzhou Industrial Park/Eslite
Excellent value for the price. We had a suite which was big and clean. The staff was friendly and offered me an extra breakfast voucher for my son. Although we didn’t try them, there were a couple good looking Korean restaurants on the ground floor. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from Times Square and a 7-minute walk from my favorite Vietnamese restaurant.
Jinji Lake Grand Hotel

West of Suzhou Industrial Park/Suchow Center
We checked in quite late in the evening but we're greeted with many smiling faces. The room is lovely with a fantastic bathroom. Plenty of free water... The facilities at this hotel are fantastic, lovely big swimming pool, the jacquzi water smelt a little maybe cool do with a clean... The sauna in the changing room was great! We also used their table tennis room and snooker room which we. loved. The breKfast is also very good. We extended our stay by one night and was a delightful stay. only one complaint as such, we used the rental bike by the hotel and rode just outside to the waterfall by the main road. A man on a bike came to us telling us to wear our masks and to get back closer to the hotel... Nobody explained the rules to us and could be language barrier. But I didn't appreciate the man's tone of voice telling us to wear our masks. Nobody was near us and we were exercising we don't have to wear it!
Evergrande Venice Resort

Qidong Evergrande Venice Resort
The room was very nice and the view from the room was amazing. However, the hotel really doesn't cater to Western couples - it seems like everyone else staying in the hotel was a Chinese couple with young children. There was little information in the hotel about what the hotel had to offer, and there were a lot of things that were unavailable - the pool was closed, the two Western restaurants were closed, the bar was closed (and looked like it had never been open), and a lot of the eating places around the hotel were closed too. The hotel was very busy and noisy with all the families, and maintenance of the garden and outside areas of the hotel was not a priority at all - things were falling apart and they looked a mess. Having said all of this, it was nice to be able to walk on the beach and see the ocean. However, couples looking for a nice getaway where they can relax should look at going somewhere else.
Scholar Shan Tang Hotel

Shi Road/Shantang business district
Facilities: The hotel is a historic garden, which makes people feel comfortable when going out or lying on the sofa. The restaurant in the hotel is delicious for both breakfast and dinner, no wonder it has such a high score. Hygiene: The hygiene is very good. I stayed for several days in a row, and the cleaning was done every day. There are almost no dead corners in the room. Environment: It was quiet as soon as I entered the door from the bustling ancient street. The courtyard loft and green plants are very beautiful. Service: Special thanks to the beautiful manager for her thoughtful service. I have a knee injury and it is not safe to wear the hotel's slippers to take a bath. She immediately bought me plastic slippers and asked us what we needed every day. The service attitude of the waiters is very good. Every day when they see us going out, they tell us the lightning protection information of the attractions we are going to. This is the most correct choice for my trip. Highly recommended to everyone.
