Beach Hotels in Faro District, Portugal

We had a five night break in Faro and stayed at this hotel, conveniently sited overlooking the marina. The airport bus drops you within a three minute walk of the hotel and the train station is just a little further away. We were fortunate to have a lovely room with balcony from which we could see the old town beyond the marina. The room was very comfortable and of a good size too. One disadvantage of the hotel is the small lifts from the reception area to upper floors: we used the stairs for easier access once we had taken bags to our room. The breakfast was very good with a pleasant area outside which was quite warm even in November. Entertainment was provided by a resident pianist and added a little to the general ambience of breakfast time. Overall, we were very pleased with our accommodation and would certainly stay there again if we were to revisit Faro.

Recently refurbished three star property with a four star level of service. While the rooms are small, they are fully equipped and the bathrooms are sparkingly clean. Great air conditioning and good linen and towels. Good shower but sadly with captive liquid soap. Breakfast is the only meal offered but is extremely good even though there are only two hot dishes for us Northern Europeans. Fresh orange juice (whch is wonderful) is available for a small supplement. Given the fact that there's terrific restuarnt across the road (Gimbres by Oleg), the absnce of full meals provision is not noticed. There's s nice lobby bar.

The pool area is the highlight of this hotel. There were plenty of sunbeds for the guests. There is a pool bar which opens if there is a full day of good weather. You must go to the bar, there is no poolside service. The gym and spa area were also good. I enjoyed a lovely massage. The hotel rooms are very compact but functional. Beds and pillows are comfortable. Shower was good and there was always hot water. The air con was great. The fridge works well if you leave the cabinet door open. There is tea and coffee (but not restocked) but no milk. You must put sign on the door if you want the cleaners to do your room. There is no iron in the room and none available on request. You have to pay for an ironing service. The sink drained very slowly in the bathroom. The hallway carpets had some questionable staining - I really cannot understand how they haven’t replaced sections of it. We had a room overlooking the carpark which is not the best view but does get nice evening sunshine on the balcony. The WiFi was good. The breakfast was only ok. I would have expected better. There was nice fresh fruit and fresh croissants each morning but the yogurt, orange juice and coffee were terrible quality. I wouldn’t touch the hot food. If you come down near the end of service, forget about it, staff seem to have given up, I even had to set my own table one morning as none of the tables had been cleared. The piano player at breakfast was very good. They give out flowers to the lady guests some days. These things are nice touches but I imagine guests would rather better food instead. We had lunch in the hotel twice. Pizza was ok. Tried the calamari another day but it could have been deep fried anything to be honest and fries tasted like they’d been sitting around. Rooftop bar is nice with lovely views and they make good cocktails. Bar staff were nice. We only in the rooftop restaurant once and it was disappointing.

Stayed here for 3 nights with 2 friends on half board-basis.Hotel staff very friendly. Changed a couple of the suppers into lunches which suited our plans. Choice of food off a menu, great waiting on staff and food quality and presentation. The restaurant is on the 4th floor/roof terrace and has amazing views of the area. We ate breakfast, lunch and supper outside on the terrace. There is gym but we didn’t have time to use. Breakfast selection excellent. Small plunge pool and some sun loungers in roof terrace. Ideal as pool towels provided. Hotel has a free minibus service to their Sal’Mare Beach Club at Pria de Faro. Need to book a day in advance. Hotel provided beach towels for us to take, minibus driver walked us in and explained that Hotel Faro guests get 10% off food and drink. Great sandy beach. Hotel location ideal looking over small marina. Loads of great restaurants and bars within a few minutes walk of the hotel. Lovely to walk around old town area as well. Great wine shop just to right side of hotel. Approx 10 min taxi transfer from airport. You can see planes at the airport but no aircraft noise. Spoke to numerous guests who were all repeat visitors which says it all. Great hotel, no hesitation staying here again.

A hotel that performs wonderfully. Very friendly and willing service. The facilities are a little old, but everything is clean. The location is great, next to the bus station and the beach. Incredible breakfasts!!! even fresh orange juice I will repeat without a doubt.

This is a beautiful refurbished hotel . Rooms great size , and we had a terrace balcony. Great bathroom. Breakfast is exceptional with plenty of choice and all very fresh .. choice of fruit great for me and my husband was happy with choice of eggs and omelettes Service was excellent at breakfast and some great staff ! The pool area was lovely but on the 3 days we spent there from 10.30 to 3.30 there were at least 8 sun beds with towels and bags on them that no one ever used .. please look at having staff remove this items after a certain amount of time as we would have loved to have used the soft comfy bed at the pool My husband used the gym but was disappointed that there was no water and nothing to clean or sanitise the gym equipment after use … some sanitising wipes would have been great . A manager actually came down to look as another guest complained but he looked around and left ! We would def return to this hotel as it’s in a fab location , breakfast excellent , beautiful views , bar area lovely . Peaceful and quiet and surrounding areas lovely with plenty of great restaurants

I would love to give this place a poor review to put people off going so I could keep it for myself but that would be doing the staff a real disservice. I can't fault this place at all- the place was spotless inside and out and the rooms were well equipped with fridge ,safe and air conditioning and lovely hot showers. The breakfast had something for everyone and changed each day. The staff are the real star of the show though and nothing is too much trouble. We mentioned we were looking for worry beads and the next thing we knew one of the waitresses at breakfast went across the street and brought back a selection for us to choose from and purchase from the shop opposite. Special mention to Ioanna who was so friendly and up for a laugh she really made our holiday. Great Central location but quiet with a lovely small pool and pool area. Can't wait to come back!

The room is very good, relatively large, with a large balcony and an excellent view. The sea view on the ground floor of the hotel is very stunning. There is a restaurant just outside the hotel. Turn left and you will see a bustling night market, which is very similar to Beidaihe.

For a 3 star hotel this is excellent. We had to check out of our villa at 10am - but with a late evening flight home we needed somewhere to dump our cases and enjoy a pool somewhere for the day. We booked this (had to phone due to strange check in/out that we needed) we booked the room from 10am-7pm , obviously we had to be charged for the full day (80 euros) what a bargain! We weren't expecting much but we are pleasantly surprised (writing this sat by the peaceful pool ). Room is large and very clean - can't vouch for.comfort of bed as we won't be sleeping in them). This would make a great, value for money, base and you wouldn't be disappointed with pool and bar - we were feeling a bit deflated coming from a beautiful villa with private pool to a small hotel - but we love it! Staff are very helpful and friendly. If your looking for a good value hotel - this is it!

The room is very spacious, the environment is good, very close to the beach, it feels ridiculous that we booked a big bed room to stay for two people is normal, but the hotel said to add money, because we ordered a person, and finally was pitted 50 euros, although breakfast was sent, But I still feel uncomfortable. The room we booked is not a bed. What is the difference between living alone and living two people? In addition, the breakfast was very perfunctory and there was basically nothing to eat.

I checked in for a pre-arranged, one night reservation and was asked for the €1.50 tourist tax which I paid, only to be asked again for it again the following morning as there was no record of my paying it. I wasn’t going to quibble about €1.50 so I paid again but this is awful service. It was obvious that the morning team didn’t believe me when I said I’d paid - and were quite happy to take it again - which I found pretty insulting Room clean, bed comfortable. Tired maintenance (black grouting in shower). Nice balcony. No access to a drinks machine or self-refreshment so I wasn’t able to have a hot drink on arrival. I would not stay here again.

Hotel Aeromor is a really convenient hotel located on the FARO beach ***** . A 6 minute taxi ride from the airport in a very beauitful location. The check in experience was very pleasant and straight forward and the service was great. The hotel do offer breakfast at a additional cost but you will not be disappointed . The breakfast is a buffet breakfast and I enjoyed it very much as everything was delicious. We booked a room with a lovely sea view .. The room was very clean , the bed very comfortable and bathroom although very basic did the job. You get a nice kettle and snack bits and it was really kond how they gave us a whole fruit bowl to devour . The water pressure in the shower was surprisingly great and I love how they laid out the bathroom extras neatly . Our room came with a balcony and it did not disappont. Lovely views and it is really quiet at night. On the last night we had some typical loud British tourist next door who really didn't take into account that people we're trying to sleep but the hotel staff sorted them put soon enough and told them to be quiet . There is a resturant downstairs for lunch and dinner and love music which is there for you to enjoy. The hotel is across the road from the beach

We love this hotel the food is amazing, all the staff are very friendly. You get well looked after. the hotel is on the beach and it is worth a sea view. Can not fault this hotel we try and go 3 times a year. Always returning to this hotel due to amazing Service.

Free parking behind the hotel, enter the car park next to the McDonald's drive through. Limited spaces. Parking on the pavement will get you a €30 fine. Walking distance to the marina, beach and plenty of restraunts, pubs and some supermarkets. Kitchen in the apartment is an induction cooker, microwave and a kettle. Some cutlery and cooking utensils provided. Buffet breakfast is some cold cuts, cheese, sliced oranges, melons and kiwi fruit, yoghurt, cereals, scrambled, sunny Side up and boiled eggs. Baked beans, saugages, bacon mushrooms and roasted tomato with cheese. Portugese egg tarts, raisin danishes, chocolate rolls, apple turnovers. White bread, wholemeal bread, croissants and some rolls with butter and some jams available. 3 Small lifts they can fit 2 persons with suitcases. Lighting mostly adequate in the rooms amd living area except for the bathroom which was too dark. Nice balcony area. In the evenings, it was cooler to open the doors than rely on the air conditioner.

I went alone but never bored. I had a late check in and everything was spot on. I communicated with the hotel about my flight change and quick response they booked me a taxi which was there waiting at weeee hours of the morning. The cleanliness was %100 rooms clean I cannot fault. I enjoyed the bus ride, the Uber was ok. The area was quiet if anyone looking for closeness but the taxi price was good. There was so much to do. My last day went to the spa over by the aqua park OMG it was rejuvenating only thing was you have to pay with a discount if you are staying at the hotel., for 2 hours 25 euros I think it can be a little cheaper for hotel guest. But I am not one to complain it is a kids friendly hotel so expect to hear kids running around planning to bring my grandkids next time, I know they will enjoy it. Breakfast was ok, ate outside for dinner there is so much place to choose from. Just a Uber ride away. A big shout out to Bruno very good cocktail and he gave me tips of places to eat out side. Perfect care. Super educated and sympathetic officials. The room was very good, everything was in perfect order. A good variety of breakfast. I will certainly indicate the Hotel Altismar, without counting the benefit cost, which was excellent.

When we read reviews we were a bit unsure of our choice. We arrived on the 15th September our room was not available to 2 pm so we had some lunch in the hotel which was good. Our room 212 was perfect except for one small issue with the floor in the sitting area. We were offered to moved but declined due to the location and size of the room. The Housekeepers serviced the room everyday. Bed was so so comfortable. Breakfast was excellent plenty of everything hot or cold. The staff were excellent and friendly. We were always able to get a sun lounger. We chose Bed and Breakfast as we wanted to eat out and such a selection of restaurants. Highly recommend O’Neills Irish Bar food was excellent. Thank you for a wonderful stay at a lovely traditional Portuguese Hotel. We will be back again very soon.

Suitable for golfing, just 200 meters next to the QDL, the sunset suite is directly facing the golf course, and the view is good, you need a room on the second floor. The service staff are very enthusiastic and meet various needs from car rental, club rental, fixed course, restaurant and so on. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the beach, and the hotel also has bicycles. Breakfast was good. The only thing is that it is relatively close to the airway, and opening the window during the day will be noisy

Absolute great hotel. We've stayed in all but 1 of the 5 star hotel within the Vilamoura area and 1 in Olhao, whilst they all have their good points this one was fantastic. The service was second to none, if you have food allergies then do mention to Guest Relations in the restaurant and you'll eat like a King or Queen. If you've booked a room that is part of Haut Living then the lounge is fabulous and so are the staff in there. They are a credit to the hotel and the Marriot group. I can understand another review on the rooms being a little dark, especially if you were on the ground level floor. The lighting in the rooms is not great and personally doesn't work for those who like to wear make up, even difficult to see in the toilet or the bathroom. However we managed and still are returning in June 2025. See you all soon

A truly great experience!! Room was comfortable and housekeeping excellent. Well placed with a view of the Marina. The highlight of each morning of my 5 night stay was the Breakfast. Fantastic choice and everything well cooked and presented. The staff, particularly the trainees, were always friendly and obliging. I couldn't fault anything about the Breakfast at all. The situation of the Hotel was ideal for me but might not suit everyone as it was sited out of the Town. A beautiful beach was adjacent to the Hotel and even out of season there were a variety of Restaurants nearby. All staff, the Receptionists, Restaurant staff and Housekeeping were outstanding, always greeted me with a smile and very helpful.

Just come back from a four night stay at these apartments and I must say they were excellent. Great amenities lovely pool area and very friendly staff. The little on site shop had all we wanted and we ate in the restaurant on our first night and although there was several items unavailable what we had was great. The apartments are very assessable to the beach and there are a few restaurants nearby although some were closed because it was off season. We recommend Just Beef which is in walking distance up the coast, we ate here twice! Would definitely recommend a stay at these apartments and hope to return soon. Thank you

Beautiful property right on Praia da Rocha. Excellent service at check-in, was given a quick tour of the lobby and room by a wonderful gentleman. Beautiful and tidy room, stunning view from balcony, though the small bathroom window opens into the corridor and at times there is an unpleasant odour from a pipe in the toilet. Breakfast was adequate and delicious, staff were helpful and nice. Overall a great place to stay!

Very Clean, spacious in a great location, breakfast was good, would be nice if there were a few more options.

Modern, clean apartment with everything needed for a comfortable stay. We had daily cleaning of the apartment ”exchange of bath towels, cleaning of counters, floors and garbage collection. Some aspects that could improve, It has no magic wand, toaster, sponges and dishwashing liquid.

Wonderful This is our 2nd time staying at Turim and it was perfect like the last time Staff on check in extremely friendly. We didn’t book breakfast or dinner there we went out to eat but we had breakfast last time and it was lovely The room was extremely clean on the 4th floor with a sea view and pool view plenty of toiletries shampoo shower gel conditioner and body lotion so you don’t have to bring your own towels were provided for the pool area which is great again you don’t have to bring your own 😊 The pool area is lovely however there are not enough sun beds really …we never had a problem getting one at 10am but any later and people weee walking away this is the only negative (so Turim provide more beds by the pool) Over all I would definitely return for a 3rd time

AN EXPENSIVE ITEM WAS STOLEN I had a terrible experience with this hotel at the end of my trip. Firstly, the hotel is really small, smaller than the pictures they show, our room was really tiny. But we decided to ignore that and have a good stay. There’s no parking spots near the hotel, so we had to park 8 minutes (walking) away from the hotel. At the end of our staying, when we were doing the check out we had to leave the bags in the reception because we couldn’t walk 8 minutes with bags and with 38 degrees weather. When we returned an item was missing. This was the only stop I made before going home. It’s a car trip, no one had access besides the staff in the hotel or other clients. I was informed they don’t have cameras in the reception area. I was even poorly treated by a staff member named Giovanna, she completely disregarded the situation and said basically it was a “me” problem. And there’s nothing she could do. This can’t be standard procedure in a hotel. Me, as a paying customer I expect at least some care and respect towards my money and my belongings, your employee simply told me “it’s impossible” as if things like this never happen, I expected her at least to tell me she would look into it and disregard my issue completely. This was a terrible experience and I don’t recommend this hotel or this service to anyone else unless they want to be treated unfairly. Regards , Luzia Ferreira.
