Beach Hotels in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan

"Another trip to Japan! This time, before my whirlwind tour of Kansai, I took a vacation in Okinawa! I wanted to beat the summer rush and embrace the ocean. I booked a premium room at this popular hotel in advance, purely for the relaxation it offered. During peak season, a standard room here can go for over 3,000 yen a night, so it definitely lives up to its price! The hotel is about a dozen kilometers from Naha Airport and Kokusai Dori, which isn't too far. Its location is quiet and a bit secluded, but the environment is superb, and the facilities are very new! Check-in was a bit slow because the staff explained everything in such detail. On the bright side, the room was spacious, tidy, and clean. The bathroom amenities were plentiful, and the hair ties were super cute, though I forgot to snap a pic. Soaking in the tub with their bath salts was incredibly comfortable! The hotel's complimentary slippers and beach bag matched my bikini perfectly! I loved the whole look – too bad I got my period and couldn't go for a swim. The hotel service was also very thoughtful! Breakfast was incredibly rich and varied! During meals, staff would give each table a small card. After finishing your meal, you could flip the card over, which prevented the awkward situation of your table being cleared if you or your group went to get more food. Besides its own restaurant, the hotel has many other delicious dining options, but they require advance reservations! This time, I just wanted to relax and didn't visit other Okinawa attractions, so I didn't rent a car. Otherwise, parking at this hotel is also very convenient! Since we didn't request housekeeping during our stay, the hotel even gave us a 3,000 yen credit to spend at the gift shop downstairs upon check-out. Good times on vacation always fly by quickly. Every time I've come to Okinawa, it's rained, but luckily, on the last day, the sun came out, and I saw the jelly-like ocean! I'll definitely book this hotel again next time I come to Okinawa!"

"The room felt a bit dated, but it was clean and generally good. There's a hot spring bath on the first floor, which was a nice bonus. There aren't many food options nearby, but there are two convenience stores within a 5-10 minute walk. Getting around isn't super convenient, but they do offer an airport shuttle, and the driver was really friendly."

"Nice hotel in American village, with onsen bath free for hotel guest, central location in American village, lot of amenities and welcome drinks, infinity pool is nice but it’s not free, it’s perfect for couples and adult since it’s quiet. Breakfast with lots of choice and local food. Love this hotel will definitely come back again!"

"Our three-generation family trip to Okinawa was made even more special by our stay at Ryukyu Onsen Senagajima Hotel, and we want to extend our sincerest gratitude for the overall excellent experience. Since we arrived late and had an early flight back the next morning, we unfortunately didn't get to fully enjoy many of the hotel's facilities, which was a bit of a shame. However, what truly warmed our hearts and put us at ease was the hotel's incredibly thoughtful service. As it was a family trip, we had a lot of luggage for both adults and children, and we were quite flustered upon arrival. Thankfully, the hotel staff were incredibly enthusiastic; they proactively helped us with our bags and assisted us smoothly with the check-in process. This considerate gesture made us feel much more relaxed and grateful after our journey. Moreover, the hotel's onsen (hot spring) was excellent, and the bathing experience was very relaxing. However, perhaps because of its proximity to the sea, we noticed some signs of rust on the pipes in the outdoor onsen area. While this was a minor detail and didn't detract from our overall wonderful stay, we believe that a bit more attention to maintenance in the future would make it even more perfect. Thank you once again to the hotel team for your warm hospitality, which created beautiful memories for our family trip!"

"This hotel is right by the beach, and the setting is absolutely lovely. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming. The breakfast offers a great variety and tastes delicious. There's a large outdoor pool on the first floor. Plus, there's a bus stop on the ground floor with direct service to the airport, which is super convenient. Highly recommend!"

"The biggest disappointment during our stay was the check-out experience. One of the front desk staff had a very unfriendly attitude and tone of voice, which made us feel unwelcome and not respected. It is possible that English was not their first language, but the overall service at check-out was disappointing. Another downside was the parking fee, which was much more expensive than we expected. Since we were driving, it added a significant extra cost to our stay. Other than these issues, we had a good stay. The room was well maintained and comfortable, and the view was beautiful. The breakfast was delicious, and the location was okay, within walking distance to the port. We also appreciated having a laundry room, which was very convenient."

"The hotel boasts decent facilities, primarily advertised for its 'airport views.' However, whether you actually see planes depends on your room's location; not all rooms directly face the runway. The room itself is spacious and very comfortable. But the hotel's services and amenities fall short. First, the rooftop bar closes early at 9:30 PM. Aside from two 350ml bottles of mineral water in the room, there's no other drinking water available, which is a problem when it's hot and there are no convenience stores nearby. Second, the pool and hot spring also close at 9:30 PM. Being unable to use the hot spring so early is worse than most hotels; it feels more like a gimmick. Third, breakfast is too simple and offers very little variety. It might be worth trying if you're looking for a place to stay on your last day before leaving Okinawa. However, using it as a base for your trip would be inconvenient and a bit monotonous."

"The air conditioner had a slight smell, like the filter hadn't been cleaned in a while. But other than that, the cleaning was excellent. Nowadays, many hotels in Japan have weird systems like cleaning only once for a three-night stay, so I really appreciated the daily cleaning here. The location is also great, close to Kokusai Street."

"This was our 3rd stay here since the pandemic and it remains the one and only Best Western we ever visit. The hotel consistently offers fantastic value for money, spacious and clean rooms, and an incredible beach view. What really made this trip stand out, though, was the exceptional service from front desk staff Yuki. When we ran into an issue right after check-in, he resolved it instantly. Later on, we encountered a stressful situation locally, Yuki really stepped up to help us handle it. He went completely above and beyond his duties to ensure our holiday wasn’t ruined. It is staff members like Yuki who keep us returning every year. Highly recommended!"
