Connemara Coast Hotel

What a lovely location, a gorgeous hotel and the swimming pool was great with the added bonus of an outside hot tub overlooking the sea. My room was 631 with a large king bed, desks, adequate bathroom with bath and shower, seats with table, desk and TV and all the usual facilities in a hotel room. No sockets by the bed though which is something all hotels need to have now but that was the only criticism of the room. Staff where lovely, helpful and friendly although I give 4 stars as check-in didnt happen for 10 minutes due to no staff being at the reception, no idea why but it got sorted OK. The hotel is clean, the room was clean, well presented and very welcoming. I had breakfast which was the normal cooked breakfast buffet, toasts, pancakes, breads, cereals, tea or coffee, juices with plenty of seating options and a view of the sea. The staff were great, the food was good and the atmosphere relaxed. The view gives you a great start to the day. I used the pool which was great. Some families there with kids, a swimming lane, working steam room, sauna and heated jacuzzi. The outside hottub is amazing. It is a must do at this hotel. It was raiing on my stay so the outside tennis court and kids play area werent being used but its worth a mention that they have these. Location feels remote but its only 5-10 minutes from Salthill and Galway by car. There is a petrol station beside the hotel on the main road and a small village. I guess you access the hotel by car, taxi or bus.

Traveled with a tour group who arranged our accommodations. My first impression was that this was student housing. There were signs with a dress code specifying the shoes are required….also saw a lot of university age people coming in and out. Seem to have a variety of room types, some with kitchenettes. We had a twin room which was comfortable but a bit worn out. The dining was nice. Since we had just one night we were happy with the travel stop.

Hotel location is okay, visually it is the best hotel in Galway, but the facilities are average. Encountered Galway Oyster Festival, the hotel is full, so the price is unrealistically high.

Had an amazing 2 day stay with my mom. We come up every few months, and this will defo be our new place to stay. We absolutely loved it, beautiful views from the sea view rooms and really good breastfast. Hotel didn’t feel overly busy and staff very friendly and helpful. Can’t wait for our next stay in July😊

We stayed here for three nights for a wedding. The hotel has a great location in Salthill. There is ample car parking. Check in was quick and friendly. The room was good, spacious and had a partial sea view. The breakfast was excellent with a great choice. There is also a cafe in the hotel which is a good option if you want a quick and reasonably priced snack or drink. The bar is nice with a good selection of drinks. We did not use the leisure facilities.

A beautiful spot in the lovely village of Clifden. Julia and Paddy are wonderful hosts, in fact all the staff were great. We had a gorgeous family room on the top floor with plenty of space and super comfortable beds. Breakfast was delicious. Quay House is a short walk from town - a walk we appreciated after dinner out and a few gin and tonics. Really loved this place and will be looking forward to returning. We also spent a day out on Inishbofin, hired bikes and explored the island. Recommend this to anyone visiting Clifden who has some time to spare.

A very overdue review but didn’t want to not leave it. Had a lovely stay here in May. Staff were so kind and helpful. Room much bigger than expected (family room) and very quiet – even when we saw a raucous looking hen night setting up and then didn’t hear a squeak from it all night. Lovely pool and whilst there were lessons going on we still had ample space to swim and change. Really enjoyed our stay and felt it was well priced for the standard. Only con is that the buses aren’t as regular as hoped especially through the weekend so we had to take more taxis as expected as town was a hefty walk away (and hire car prices seem to have gone crazy in Ireland!). But will come back for sure. Thank you!

The Ardilaun Hotel

Booking without knowledge of the city or facility is always a shot in the dark. The Ardilaun has great atmosphere and the staff was wonderful! The room was clean and they have rooms for pets with a special outdoor area. It is great to have a nice place to stay with our dog! The front desk checked us in and walked us to our room, the bar staff was helpful and the service was also very good. The only issue I had and this was minuscule in terms of our stay… the breakfast that was included was subpar. There was a nice continental area that may suit most fine, but the hot ordered breakfast could use some improvement. The pancakes were cold and hard, like they had been prepared ahead of time and one of our omelettes was very much overcooked. All in all, I would recommend a stay at the Ardilaun…stick with the continental portion of the breakfast. Both the continental and hot were included in our stay, so again, wasn’t a huge factor. I would book here again.
