Although it was a sad reason for traveling, my Grandfather's funeral, it was a pleasant stay. I loved the note on the bed. My Grandfather was a retired pastor and the note made me feel like he was there with us. I also loved the nifty painting of the states on the wall. The beds were super comfy and a welcomed relief from the long trip. The room and bathroom were nice and clean. I don't drink coffee but there was even a little sitting area with coffee for those of you who drink it. The staff was pleasant so all and all a good stay.

Fairfield Inn & Suites Rapid City

We use Marriott hotels whenever possible while traveling. The Fairfield Inn & Suites in Rapid City is a great place to stop for the night. We had a room with a king bed and two TV’s, a sofa sleeper and desk area. The room had a microwave, small refrigerator and coffee maker. The bathroom was large and sparkling clean. We always appreciate the rubber bathmats when provided. The pillows in all the Marriott hotels we have stayed in recently desperately need to be replaced. A good breakfast with hot and cold items is provided from 6:30-9 am each morning. Check-in was quick and easy and the people at the desk were very friendly and helpful. There is a large seating area in front of the hotel with a fire pit. The parking lot is large and handicapped spots are right up front. There are lots of restaurants and fast-food places nearby. The water was too soft, and we felt slimy after showering or washing our hands like we couldn’t get the soap off. We did have one major problem. We were on the third floor and the wind that night was howling around the building and as it turned out, we discovered that the window in our room was broken and wouldn’t close properly, so the noise was intensified, and we didn’t get much sleep if any that night. After driving all day and seeing lots of different sites, we had hoped for a good night’s sleep. Ask for a lower floor room.

The hotel is not far from the airport, just a few minutes away, there is a parking lot, the front desk and the staff are very good, breakfast is very rich, typical American breakfast. There are also Chinese restaurants nearby, great.

Could of done better…door 3 didn’t have room number right at the entry for which way to go to find our room, we had to go all over to search for ours to find out it’s upstair. Ice machine wasn’t even working…breakfast there was no eggs, French toast and all that at 8am when we came out for breakfast!!! I looked around and everybody else had them and there was none left at 8am and it didn’t looked like they were gonna make more so me and my kid had to go back to the room hungry. Otherwise it was a nice place though

If you have a disability or ay mobility issues at all this is not the hotel for you. There is no handicap parking at the hotel, just shared parking a few blocks away. There is a valet service, but they had gone for the day when I arrived. To add insult to injury, even after asking about handicap parking options, the room they gave me was at the very end of the hotel, which is a block long. The hotel itself is fine, but people with disabilities need to find other accommodations in Deadwood.

Got to the Hampton Inn at Deadwood only to find a didn't have a reservation. Apparently either I or the reservationist got the dates mixed up and I never caught it. The young lady at the desk (Ashly) was able to find me a room for the night and she went to work on trying to solve my issue. Before long as I was headed out to get some dinner, Ashly stopped me and explained that she was able to get everything worked out for my stay for the next few nights. She was also able to cancel the wrong reservations so I would not have any issues. This kind of customer service is impossible to find anymore and I was greatly appreciative of Ashly and her going above and beyond what was required of her.
