Hotel near Downtown Honolulu,Honolulu
The newly renovated Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra-Honolulu's Landmark Hotel-is ideally situated just outside of the busy Waikiki resort area. With 1,100 rooms across 2 towers, this hotel is the perfect place for business travellers to escape the crowds; every room features complimentary Wi-Fi, a microwave oven and refrigerator. Travelers will find everything they need to keep it all within budget. There is a daily amenity fee that includes cultural activities, dining perks, refillable bottles and more.

"Good location at the beginning of Waikiki- close enough to everything without being in the midst of touristy chaos.  Amenities decent- nothing too fancy but all the basic amenities covered.  (Pool✅, gym✅, sauna✅- steam room was out of order) missing a jacuzzi & would have liked extended pool hours- but really enjoyed our time there- free excellent first come, first served- cabana options ,and  complimentary ice cakes.  Staff was friendly & helpful- despite an initial awkward check in experience.  Breakfast buffet-(Cafe 410)  good choices, attentive staff. Recommend going early to beat the loud & large crowds. Elevators were like a roller coaster ride and zipped us up to our room and down to lobby in a flash.  The water bottle check in gift was a nice and appreciated touch. (Just wished that ice machines were on every floor) Signature Steak House- pricey but worth every dollar!!  Very elegant/classy atmosphere - though kind of looser on the dress code than expected.  Steak melts in your  mouth- light, flavorful- perfect!  Best.Damned.Steak.Ever!!  Really set the bar and forever ruined all other steaks in comparison!!! Overall , very nice Kamaaina couple staycation. Only complaint would be the horrible mattresses!! (So uncomfortable that we had a hard time sleeping and woke daily with sore backs- and that there wasn’t free Kamaaina parking."

"The hotel is very quiet, and the sea views are absolutely stunning. From the room, you can see so many yachts. It's lovely to watch them head out to sea in the morning, and in the afternoon, there are lots of people surfing. The hotel's pool is fantastic, and there's a Japanese restaurant downstairs that's incredibly delicious – we really enjoyed it, and it was only a bit over 100 for two, which is quite reasonable. The best part is how clean the hotel is; the hygiene is excellent. I'll definitely stay here again next time!"

"The reception is on the second floor and there is no elevator up there, so you have to lift your suitcases yourself, but there is an elevator from the second floor onwards. The hotel's concept is to cherish and utilize old things unique to overseas destinations, so you will inevitably hear noises from other rooms (especially toilets and showers). If you don't like the retro feel, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The location is great, just a 10-minute walk from Ala Moana Center, and it's also possible to walk back from the farthest part of Waikiki. I think this hotel's convenience will be more appreciated by guests who plan to stroll around rather than swim in the ocean. I felt that the amount of the tip made a big difference in the level of care taken. On my last day, I only had one dollar bills and left several before leaving, but it seemed they thought I only had one dollar bills, so they didn't accept them, and the coffee capsules were never refilled. There were a few minor issues, but overall I was pleased with this hotel."

Hotel near Waikiki,Honolulu
About Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort is Waikiki's destination resort, offering an exceptional blend of premium accommodations and classic island hospitality along Waikiki's widest stretch of beach. Spanning 22 oceanfront acres in the heart of Honolulu, the resort features 2,886 guest rooms and suites across five distinctive towers. Rainbow Tower, a beloved Waikiki icon, showcases its vibrant mural and sweeping views of Diamond Head Crater. Guests seeking exclusivity can choose The Alii, a curated, elevated stay experience offering dedicated check-in, concierge access, and exclusive amenities including a private pool terrace, bar, and fitness center. The resort features five swimming pools, including Waikiki's largest pool and its longest waterslide. More than 80 shops and services, from boutiques to a post office and business center, create a self-contained village experience. With 18 restaurants and bars, guests can explore global flavors without ever leaving the property. Bali Oceanfront offers award-winning cuisine and impeccable service, earning top ratings, all paired with front-row sunrise and sunset views over Waikiki Beach. Nearby, Tropics Bar & Grill remains a favorite for its relaxed, beachfront setting and casual island-style fare. The Waikiki Starlight Luau invites guests on a journey across the Pacific through music, dance, and a vibrant outdoor dinner show. At Mandara Spa, Hawaiian healing traditions blend with Asian, European, and Polynesian wellness practices for a deeply restorative experience. Guests can enjoy a wide range of cultural activities, from hula lessons to lei making, or head to Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon and Beach for standup paddling, kayaking, surfing, and other ocean adventures. Every Friday evening, the resorts beachfront becomes the stage for one of Waikikis most iconic traditions, its spectacular fireworks show.

"The Rainbow Tower is quite new and the rooms are decent, but the elevators are incredibly slow. With over 1000 rooms sharing just 5 elevators, you're looking at nearly a ten-minute wait every time. I'd advise against booking an ocean view room because you won't really see much ocean; it's mostly lagoon. For a true ocean view, you'd need to book an 'oceanfront view,' and even then, it depends on the front desk's mood – they might give you a low floor where you still can't see anything. My room was on a very low floor with virtually no view, plus there was construction going on downstairs, which was very noisy. The hotel's location is a bit out of the way for Waikiki; it's over a 15-minute walk to the main area. However, it's only a 15-minute walk to Ala Moana Shopping Center. Also, if beach quality is important to you, don't stay here. The beach is full of coral fragments, which hurt your feet, and the water is murky. The towel counter closes at 6 PM, so there's nowhere to return towels after that. Additionally, they don't offer complimentary beach chairs or bodyboards, unlike Marriott where they're free. Overall, it's not really worth the price."

"We stayed in an ocean view room. It was very close to the sea, and the view from the lanai was absolutely stunning. I think it was one of the ocean view rooms with the best views, being so close to the ocean. I'm very grateful that we were allocated this particular room. The housekeeping staff were also very friendly and pleasant, which made our stay enjoyable. The location was also excellent, close to the Duke Kahanamoku statue in the heart of Waikiki. The only downsides were that there was no explanation about the resort points we were supposed to receive as part of our stay. Also, we booked three rooms for six people, but due to their system, we could only process payment for one room at a time. This meant I couldn't use the same credit card for the second room and had to scramble. I'd recommend bringing enough credit cards for each room you book. These two minor issues were a bit disappointing, so I deducted one star from the service rating."

"Fabulous boutique hotel. Thought of all the little things to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Staff were very polite and friendly. Great shower pressure, bed was comfortable and air con fantastic. We had a room on the 3rd floor and unfortunately we could smell one of the burger restaurants frying food each morning, which was not pleasant. Not the hotels fault, but it’s something to bear in mind if you’re given a lower floor. Rooftop pool is small but a nice extra if you don’t fancy the beach. Close to everything; restaurants, shops, beach. Would definitely stay again!"

Rooms offer a variety of views, selection of bedding types, and the conveniences of a full service hotel and the comforts of home.

"The hotel is nice for the price of low $223 but they charge $45 per day of activity fees but I never used. The location is about 10 minutes walk from the central Waikiki area but is OK. The breakfast buffet is good and includes in the room package. The only problem is that they only have valet parking for $60 per day. It took them 45 minutes in the morning to get my car down on day 1 and we missed the tour. The other days were 10 to 15 minutes. I guess they don’t have enough parking so they have to double park and triple park. I tried to park at the adjacent Banyan lot but all full after 8pm. There are no other viable option other than valet parking in the hotel."

"I had seen a lot of negative reviews on various platforms before, but I didn't experience any of those issues myself. 1. I checked in earlier than the official time. The front desk staff was very friendly and explained that my room was still being cleaned, so I couldn't check in immediately. I left my luggage and went out shopping. While I was out, the hotel called to say my room was ready, which was earlier than the standard check-in time. 2. I discussed my room preferences with the front desk, and I was pleasantly surprised when I got to my room. It felt much better than what I had booked."

I recently stayed at this hotel in the Penthouse and, overall, had a pleasant stay. However, there were several areas where the guest experience could be improved. Pros: * The location is convenient, with Waikiki Beach approximately a 15-minute walk away. * There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance, although I would recommend making reservations in advance as many are very popular. * There are numerous ABC Stores nearby, making it easy to pick up snacks, drinks, souvenirs, and other essentials. * A special mention goes to Ralph, who was outstanding throughout our stay. He was friendly, approachable, and always happy to help with any questions or recommendations. He quickly became our go-to person whenever we needed assistance and is a real credit to the hotel. Cons: * Upon arrival, we were not offered the welcome drink that other guests appeared to receive. We checked in shortly after 3:00 pm, yet we saw guests arriving at around 9:30 pm the previous evening being offered welcome drinks. It was disappointing that this was not provided consistently. * We were never informed that the hotel offers complimentary beach umbrellas and chairs on a first come, first served basis. We ended up purchasing our own before accidentally overhearing another member of staff explain this benefit during another guest’s check-in. * Similarly, we only discovered that the hotel offers a complimentary walking tour after overhearing a different staff member mention it to another guest. It would have been helpful if all guests were informed about the activities and amenities available during check-in. * We booked the Penthouse expecting to fully enjoy the advertised 90-degree views. While the views themselves were excellent, the balcony was much smaller than expected and not really large enough to comfortably sit and enjoy them. * The bathroom, particularly the bathtub, felt dated and would benefit from refurbishment. * The room itself is showing its age and could do with a modern refresh. * The breakfast room is exceptionally small considering the number of guests staying at the hotel. During busy periods it becomes crowded and difficult to find seating. * One morning, a guest was allowed to bring a dog into the enclosed, air-conditioned breakfast room. To my understanding, this is not permitted under Hawaii law unless the animal is a legitimate service animal, and it made the dining experience uncomfortable. * The Skyline floor cannot be accessed using the elevator on the far left, which was inconvenient and not clearly explained. * At check-in, a $200 deposit was authorised along with an additional hold on my credit card. This extra charge was never explained by staff, and I only became aware of it after reviewing my credit card statement. Greater transparency regarding incidental holds would have been appreciated. Overall, the hotel is in a good location with helpful staff, especially Ralph, and provides a comfortable base for exploring Waikiki. However, there were several inconsistencies in communication and a number of facilities that would benefit from updating. Better communication during check-in about available amenities, clearer explanations of credit card holds, and refurbishment of the rooms would significantly improve the overall guest experience.

The hotel setting is relatively simple, the overall environment is quite good, close to the beach, the hotel parking is not Ouhugui, self-parking 35, hotel parking 40, there is an important thing! It is necessary to live on the high floor, 10 floors or more is the best, we were arranged to the 3rd floor on the first night, there is a very common kind of annoying Xiaoqiang! Later, I communicated with the hotel at night and changed to the 12th floor. It was really scary. I must live on the high floor! ! The area where the hotel is located is located in Lahaina. There is a place to buy and eat in 5 minutes by car. There is ABC. Don't worry about breakfast. There are also pharmacies nearby. In short, it is not bad. ~

This is the largest Hilton resort in the world, with many pools but no swimmable beach. The hotel has dolphins and turtles. I recommend staying in MAKAI for a better environment and more convenient access. However, the hotel is quite suburban, so you'll need to rent a car to get to the city center. There's a $5 one-way shuttle bus available within the hotel.

This hotel was perfect for my trip. [Room] - Spacious - The sink was large. I was able to spread out all my amenities. The large mirror and magnifying mirror made applying makeup easy. - Excellent shower pressure. - The toilet flushed smoothly. - The bathroom had a large luggage storage area with over 10 hangers. I brought folding hangers but didn't use them. I was able to easily fit three inflatable swim rings and a suitcase. - There were plenty of chests of drawers, so I was able to store all my clothes. - There was a large mirror behind the sofa, making it easy to get ready. - There were also multiple outlets on the side beds, so charging my phone was easy. - Two adults and a small child could sleep comfortably on the king bed. There was also a sofa bed, but we didn't use it. - The housekeeper always cleaned the room well, and there was no sand from the beach. - Plenty of towels and tissues. - The coffee machine, paper cups, and drinking glasses were always kept replenished. [Pool/Beach] - You can go directly to the beach from the pool. There were plenty of beach chairs reserved for the hotel, so it was easy to find a spot. You could leave your towel and luggage there, play in the pool, then play on the beach and then return to the pool empty-handed. Duke's staff are always wandering around the poolside checking for orders, so you can order from the menu on the spot. You can even drink alcohol while swimming in the pool. Floor rings are allowed in the pool. Beach bags are provided in the rooms, so you can use them. They're large and sturdy, and I often saw people carrying them around town. I didn't need to bring my own. Water bottles are also provided. There's a water dispenser by the pool. [Overall Hotel] The staff were friendly and helpful. The staff helped me with my luggage as soon as I arrived. I arrived at 12:30, but they allowed me to check in early without asking. My luggage was delivered to my room promptly, and after I told them where the safe was, they left the room saying, ”Enjoy!”, so I almost missed a tip. While there aren't many Japanese people and none of the staff speaks Japanese perfectly, I was able to get by with just a few words. Security is tight, as you can't get on the elevators without a hotel card. Conveniently, there's a Hula Grill and Duke's just down the street from the lobby. For a late breakfast around 9:00, Hula Grill was open, and I was able to get a great beachfront seat without a reservation. I got a cheap city view room on the first floor, but I was more than satisfied with the ocean view from the lanai. The location is great, with the International Market Place right across the street. There are also plenty of shops downstairs. I forgot to buy souvenirs the day before my final day, so I popped into Honolulu Cookies, which is open until 10:00 PM, in my pajamas. It's right in the middle of Waikiki Beach, so both the Royal Hawaiian Center and Waikiki Beach Walk are within walking distance. I was very satisfied, but as other reviews have said, it can be noisy at night. Street music can be heard until late every night. However, I enjoyed it because I thought, ”Everyone's so cheerful. It feels like I'm overseas.” There were days when I could hear something that sounded like opera, and it felt like I got a good deal. It's strange that there are so few Japanese people there, considering the location and service are so good. There are almost no Japanese people there, so it feels like I'm abroad.

The hotel itself is better than expected; You can tell that they went through a massive renovation in order to give a chill vibes based stay (on the outside). Inside of the room, it’s definitely an old hotel… I liked the furniture, but the windows were too open for my liking (you get the feeling that anyone can look into your room); Not as much of an issue since we used the curtains! The bath towels were covered in hair (ranging from long strands to tiny ***** pieces) which I found to be disgusting. The staff were more than willing to switch out the towels (there was still hair on them but a little dusting off mainly did the job). There was tiny ***** hair pieces in the bathtub as well, but I washed them down the drain so no biggie. The main issue that I had with this stay was that you could hear everything that was going on in rooms next door or outside. We heard loud screaming and fighting into the early ams, and it took a while for them to stop. This is not the hotel’s fault, but if you do stay here, keep in mind that the rooms aren’t very spacious, you can hear everything, and there might be hair in your towels. Overall, I really loved staying here and found it to be quite charming. The view in front of the hotel is INSANE. Though I listed negative traits about this hotel, I feel that it’s important to give some transparency to readers of this review. Mostly everyone goes into a hotel thinking that it’s 1000% clean and perfect. However, for me, the negative reviews are what I look for so that I know what to expect. You will definitely love the vibes and views this hotel has to offer, as well as the friendliness of the staff who worlds here.

This hotel is truly beautiful; I can't believe I booked such a great place! It has its own private beach with direct access from the hotel, and you can rent kayaks and boats right there. I upgraded to a sea-view twin room with a balcony. Sitting on the balcony, looking out at the endless sea, the nearby pier, and the hotel's backyard right below, with its unique thatched-roof bungalows, was simply delightful. In the evening, the buffet dinner in the backyard, accompanied by hula singing and dancing, with torches creating such a wonderful atmosphere... too bad I didn't know beforehand and didn't make a reservation. Of course, the hotel is expensive, but it's totally worth the price!
