"I stayed here alone. At first, I considered a dormitory, but I think a private room is better if you're a woman traveling solo. This place offers great value for money. It's definitely small, but having a fridge, hairdryer, and a private shower and toilet in the room was incredibly convenient. The only downside was a small gap between the door and the hallway, which let in quite a bit of noise. There was no microwave. The showerhead was fixed, and the water pressure wasn't super strong, but the hot water flowed consistently. The provided shampoo made my hair quite squeaky, so if that's a concern, you should bring your own. The hotel staff were also very pleasant. There was a gym available, so I could get a workout in. It's a hotel I'd definitely want to stay at again!"

"The location is super strategic and convenient, just a few walking steps to airport, bus station to Christchurch city and place to pick up & drop off our car rental. Their receptionists are very polite and always put a big smile when we approached them. We arrived the hotel in the earlier morning and went for city walk before check in. They helped us put all our luggages inside our room before we back and a little “kiwi” soft toy was surprised for my little kid. Highly recommend!!!"

Chasing big-night energy? Te Kaha (One New Zealand Stadium) is a five-minute stroll, hosting massive concerts and legends of the Crusaders, All Blacks, Phoenix and Warriors. Prefer adventures wild or something more chill? Willowbank Wildlife Reserve is 21 minutes away, and Opuke Thermal Pools & Spa is just a 1.5-hour escape into starlit steam and serenity. Come drift with us. Make new mates, swap stories, and start the chapter you’ll talk about long after you’ve checked out.

"Checking in was a bit of a hassle as we had to fill out an electronic form at the entrance. It would have been much smoother if we could have just done it directly with the front desk staff to speed things up. The hotel uses an electronic management system instead of physical keys, but it was hard to find the website for it. The toiletries were a high-end Antipodes brand, which was a nice touch. The best part is definitely the excellent location, super convenient for catching the Intercity bus."

"My friends and I had a great stay at The Bealey Quarter! The motel is situated in Christchurch City, allowing easy access to the tourist sites, whether you're travelling on foot, by car, or by public transport. There are plenty of buses and metro buses that frequently stop right near the accommodation as well! The staff were very friendly. We had a late flight (that got delayed even later) and ended up having to check in after hours. They were very accommodating with this, and similarly, when we asked for new towels, we received them immediately. Similarly, they were kind enough to allow us to put our luggage in their reception office whilst we went to collect our rental car on the day that we checked out. My only issue is that I had to contact them a few times before I received the late check-in details. The facilities were lovely. and very clean! The bathroom was private with a shower with good pressure and hot water. The bench and the toilet were a little high, which we were surprised by, but this wasn't a major issue at all! My only recommendation would be to add a ventilation fan to the bathroom, as although there is an open window above the sink, ventilation was still not ideal. The room came with a heater, a really good fan, and very comfy blankets and duvets. We were also provided with glasses and mugs, a selection of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate, a hair dryer, a bin, a little cupboard, desk, chair, and even a bench where our suitcases fit really well. The view of the courtyard was beautiful despite the somewhat miserable weather, and access to the courtyard via the back door meant we could use the hammocks in the nice grassy area :) The back door was a bit tough to open, and we had to actually get the staff to show us how to use it. My only other qualm is that there is no potable water in the rooms themselves. Instead, our keycard allows us to the Lodge (I believe the hostel area), where there's a kitchen and we can fill up. Overall, we had a great experience here and I definitely recommend the Bealey Quarter to anyone coming to Christchurch. It was so affordable too :)) I didn't get many good photos but here you go!"

Business locations feature meeting space flexible for large and small meetings as well as business centers and fitness centers. Many resorts offer golf tennis beautiful beaches spas and more.

"The room was spacious and well-equipped with pots, a range hood, and a toaster. Booking early definitely saved me some money compared to booking 3-4 days before. The hotel's location is excellent, and the surroundings are beautiful (P2, P3). It's in the heart of Christchurch, a 5-minute walk from the Avon River, and about 10-15 minutes on foot to the botanical garden entrance. I also walked to the city's bus interchange. For the airport, you can take bus routes 8 or 29, which is also about an 8-minute walk away. The front desk staff seemed to be Indian, and communication in English was smooth. Ctrip recommended I change my room type booking to get the lowest total price for two consecutive nights, but this might have required me to switch rooms the next morning. I spoke with the front desk, and she patiently helped me stay in the higher-priced room for both nights (without having to switch rooms); I just needed to reactivate my key card the next morning. After 10:30 PM, the hotel's front desk is unstaffed. If you check in too late, they will leave your room key in a coded box outside the main entrance and send the code to your email. The only minor issue is that a casino in Christchurch is right next to the hotel (P1), about a 5-minute walk away. However, the security at night is actually quite good (P4) – it's livelier than Auckland at night. I wandered around until 8:30 PM and didn't see anyone who was drunk on my way back to the hotel."

Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and cable programming is available for your entertainment. Private bathrooms with showers feature designer toiletries and hair dryers.

"Staying at The Mayfair Hotel Christchurch was a really pleasant experience overall. It's definitely a boutique luxury hotel, with very new decor and a room design that feels more refined than a traditional five-star. The location is great – not far from the Botanic Gardens and the city center, and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The bedding and soundproofing were excellent; it was very quiet at night, perfect for a good rest during your travels. However, it leans more towards a boutique hotel rather than a large resort, so the public facilities aren't super extensive. The breakfast quality was good, but the selection wasn't huge, and it could get quite busy during peak hours. The service was excellent overall, with a very enthusiastic front desk, which really added to the positive experience. All in all, it's a hotel in Christchurch that's strong on aesthetics and comfort, ideal for couples or a relaxed getaway. P.S. Didn't really take many photos of the hotel, haha."

"Not too far from the airport, the environment is superb! The lake view room was very comfortable. If the price is right, it's definitely worth staying a night. It was very relaxing. The only thing is that check-in is a bit of a distance from the townhouses, so it's best if you have your own car."

I was a bit disappointed. I was expecting this to be a 5 star place, but there were a lot of things that were definitely not 5 stars. The robes were grey and didn't cover bigger people. One of them had pilling all over it, I didn't want to even wear it. The bathroom door squeaked loudly, so if one person got up to the toilet in the middle of the night, it woke the other person up. There were instructions on how to use the spa bath, but not on how to put the plug in. It didn't just plug in normally. We weren't able to use it on our first night which was very frustrating as it was one of our main attractions. I rang housekeeping the next day. Someone came and had a look and said that you had to turn a know on the side of the spa, how would anyone know that? The lock on the door to outside was broken and a small slide lock had been put on. Why not fix the main lock? I used the toilets to the side of the library and when I washed my hands, the tap was all loose and wobbled round. All these things are little but show that the lodge needs to have things fixed or updated. For $300 per night, you expect the best. The worse thing was on our last morning, we got to breakfast about 8:45, the restaurant closes at 9:30 am. There was continental and scrambled eggs and bacon. At about 9:00 am they stopped bringing out anymore bread to toast. No more croissants, eggs or bacon were brought out. There were about 6 tables with guests and everyone kept going up and checking, but they didn't refill. People were saying, they must have run out of food! But for some reason the waiter kept lifting the lids to the egg and bacon to see what was in there, but of course there was nothing as he hadn't refilled it and he was the only waiter!! I was really disappointed and wouldn't recommend it, unless you are getting a really good discount.

We stayed for 3 nights. Location is wonderful. 3 min walk to Regent Street where we ate our meals for 3 days straight. New modern vibe. However, during the 3 nights, every night there is few min of power outage, blackout in the room. Wat are the chances? I ask the counter but they hv no explanation.

The location is fantastic! It's convenient for getting everywhere. The cathedral is right downstairs, and it's not far from the lakeside market or the Cardboard Cathedral, all within walking distance. The sightseeing bus stop is also close by, and the Avon River gondola rides are nearby too. Taking a taxi to the Botanic Gardens, the University of Canterbury School of Fine Arts, and the art gallery isn't far either. Both New Brighton Pier and Sumner Beach are about 10 kilometers away by taxi, similar to the distance to the airport, and Uber fares are reasonable. Overall, I'm satisfied. Just a minor note, it seemed like the shampoo and other amenities weren't checked and might have run out without being noticed.

I booked a mountain-view room, and it was on the first floor. It was a duplex, one-bedroom with a living room and a balcony. Free parking was a plus. The room came with a full set of kitchen utensils. The hotel is right across from the lake, and there's a supermarket and restaurants nearby. The front desk staff were incredibly patient and helpful. It was also super convenient to walk to the Church of the Good Shepherd for stargazing at night.

The hotel was truly amazing and a wonderful place to call home for a few nights. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything! Oven, microwave, dishwasher, stove, utensils…everything! We were pleasantly surprised that there was a washing machine and dryer too! There is a working fireplace and the views were stunning ❤️Ours was the two bedroom villa; one room has a bathroom attached with a jacuzzi tub and the other bathroom is not attached to the second bedroom. This bathroom has a shower only, no tub. The second bedroom is actually two super singles joined together so you could possibly request for that configuration. We found that the shower stall in the smaller bathroom has a poor design as water flows from the shower through the grooves between floor tiles and makes the whole place wet. This was perhaps the only down side to this place. The good at the restaurant is reasonably priced and wonderful quality. The location of the hotel is strategic for trekking to the Rakaia Gorge and also for driving to Edoras (or Mt Sunday) where LOTR’s filming took place.

I had a cosy and comfortable stay. The friendly staff at the reception offered a complimentary shuttle to the airport next morning, a service which I had not realized was available. The staff truly went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Thoughtful gestures included offering a bottle of fresh milk, which was an unexpected but lovely touch, as well as assistance in carrying of luggage to both room and on board shuttle van. All these small acts of kindness made me feel so welcomed, especially on my last night in New Zealand. :)
