The room was next to the elevator, so it was noisy and hard to sleep. The breakfast was also like that, so I thought 700 yen was expensive.

The hotel is located really close to Shimonoseki station. The room is clean. The front desk staffs both night shift and morning shift are friendly. I arrived the hotel around 10PM so there weren’t many restaurants that still open at that hour. I had to walk a bit far for a convenient store. But I really enjoyed spending the night there!

Hotel lobby is small and oldie, room size is small but quite clean. A good Japanese restaurant just next to the hotel.

However, even though I made a reservation with breakfast included on this website, the check-in machine at the reception desk asked me to select the number of people for breakfast, and when I asked the receptionist, I was told that it was for a room only. The reservation document said ”2 people for breakfast,” so I asked them to confirm again, and I'm glad I printed it out and took it with me.

Unbeatable location with many rooms ( or all rooms) and public spaces facing Tsunoshima Bridge. Our room faced the ocean directly with no obstruction. The bath was also quite decent and the outdoor bath is next to the sea. You can enjoy the sound of the waves while bathing in the hot spa. It should be quite spectacular during sunset. The spa was probably renovated within the last 10 years as it was in good condition. The room , however, felt old and the corridor was damp. The carpet in the room felt damp and the room felt stuffy. The AC worked well and we turned it on high. Our triple room as spacious but I felt itchy the whole night while sleeping- although the sheets looked clean ( I slept on the added bed). The other two beds looked slumped in the middle. Bathroom also looked quite old( from the 70’s)? My room was at the far end wing and there were lots of stairs to walk up and down from the front desk which was on the third floor. The staff will help to bring the luggages to your room ( also at check out - just call). Hotel restaurant serves dinner buffet . If you are not interested, the hotel also has a list of restaurants nearby with 10-30 minutes drive. We drove out to have yakitori in a small down, which was very local, but with friendly owner, good food- and super cheap price ( each yakitori was about ¥120-150 yen. Breakfast buffet has both Japanese and western offers, taste was average. Overall service was very good.

The hot springs were separated by gender, and we enjoyed our time there, but it was the last day of a three-day weekend, and the baths were crowded because many guests were staying there. We couldn't relax, but it was good that we were able to take a bath. We made the reservation during our trip, so it was difficult to confirm the reservation in an area with poor reception. When we checked with the hotel, we found that the reservation for our child had not been made, so we told them and paid on site. We had a relaxing time at the hotel, and it was fun for the whole family. However, the double bed was too small for three people, including a 10-year-old child. It was on the top floor, the fifth floor, and the view from the window was of Shimonoseki city and the sea. It was a single room, but it was quite spacious (probably it used to be a twin room) and the interior had a somewhat Showa-era feel to it. However, the bathroom had been renovated and was a beautiful unit bath. There was a humidifier, so I used it. It was a shame that there was no outlet for the refrigerator. I think it was worth the price.

Having similar apartment booked with the same host for the trip. Frankly, overall experience is good, though this property is a little dusty. Hagi is not a city for shopping, also found it difficult for dining out though quite a number of restaurants around, most of them were fully booked on the day we stay. Have to drive 5 minutes for food around McDonald's and Lawson. It's still a great place to visit and stay at this property and a property value for money!
