I stayed ２ at the end of the year. It was my first stay, but I wanted to relax and stay again. The hotel is over ９ floor, but the glass is often used and the view is bright everywhere. The building is a corridor style, overlooking the garden and chapel on the ９ floor, but it is lit up at night and this is beautiful again. The rooms are a bit vertical, but I was able to spend calmly. I liked my wife very much. The public bath is also like a fashionable and splendid hot spring hotel. Maybe more. There was a drum coin laundry next to the entrance of the public bath, and it was convenient for consecutive nights. Breakfast was a buffet, but the buffet on New Year's Day is a great word. It was because it was a room near the coin laundry on the 3 floor, and I heard the sound of the washing machine. However, I was able to spend it without worrying about it. It is also convenient that the next door is seven eleven. I didn't use breakfast buffet because of corona. The hotel receptionist is a sister in a T-shirt, and there is no atmosphere called ”Hotel Man”, but I was able to check in and check out smoothly, and there is no rudeness. It was a very good hotel with location, newness and cleanliness.

A very nice, modern hotel in the heart of the Kumamoto shopping district - very convenient location, right at the cross section of the two major covered shopping thoroughfares. Check-in only at 3pm and is an automated check-in/check-out system. Staff are very helpful and friendly. At check-in, you are free to choose your amenities from a very wide selection, including bath salts, face cleanser, moisturizer, coffee, green tea, etc. There is a giant tv in the room. No bottled water is provided. The room offers a full robe (short yukata and pants!). The rooms itself are very modern and renovated. There are two Family Marts and a 7-11 within a block of the hotel, as well as many dining and retail options within short walking distance. It is about a 15 minute walk to Kumamoto Castle and a 30 minute walk to Kumamoto Station.

The hotel is very clean and the service and breakfast are satisfactory. For me, the fact that it wasn't in front of the station was a little negative. This is the perfect hotel for people sightseeing in Kumamoto.

We took Highway Bus (2.5hr) from Fukuoka Airport to Kumamoto Sakuramachi Bus Terminal. Koko Hotel is directly connected to the bus terminal. Hotel was opened in June 2022 and there were now clear signages to Koko Hotel as we alighted from the bus. We took escalator to the 2F and take the lift to the 14F where the Hotel lobby is. From the lobby, we get a clear view of Kumamoto Castle. Our Superior Twin Room is very spacious and comfortable. We paid Y32,310 for 2 nights. It is 10 mins walk to the Castle, and 10 mins taxi ride to Kumamoto Station. Amu Plaza next to Kumamoto Station has plenty of eateries. Sakuramachi has Family Mart, restaurants and shops.

Value for money Hotel choice! It’s right adjacent to the bus terminal and a large shopping mall with lots of choices of food. There is a free ramen at night after the hot spring and also free popsicles which I think it is very generous and tentative. The room is clean and fit in two single beds and two futons so enough for four pax.

We are so happy we booked this hotel for heading to Mt Aso. First, the staff greeting was super warm and welcoming. The hotel is brand new and while our room was a great and functional design, the bed was the most comfortable western-style bed we’ve had in all of Japan! It’s location is super convenient if you arrive by train (it’s across the street) and while they don’t really have dining facilities, there is a fun outdoor market right outside where we grabbed dinner: meat skewers, mustard greens biscuit and a delicious craft beer (there is also ramen and a few other food choices).

This hotel is located within a short walking distance from the Kumamoto station. From the JR bstation exit it is on the left, just beside the Bic Camera store next. There is also a streetcar/tram stop so near the hotel which you can use to explore the city touristy spots! Shopping is convenient as the Kumamoto AMU Plaza (see another Review) is 5-mins walk away. The lobby is quite spacious and I quite like the intimate setting and lighting. Check-in was fast and 3 lifts serve well with travellers + luggages. The room design is quite standard and we have requested for x2 single bed, the room size is respectable. Noted that they're still using the physical hard key and not the keycard type. Hottel provided some amenities and complimentary bottled water in the room, sufficient for us . The Hotel is very into Going Green, there will be no housekeeping within first 3-days unless requested upon. This may likely be the model moving forward, to cut wastages. We had our breakfast at the nearby Pronto. The Kitaoka Shrine is just about 400 metres nearby, opposite direction of JR station so we recommend to drop by if time permits. A good stay experience. J

There are many one-way traffic around the hotel, but once you know it, you will manage it. [Room] 3 No problem especially. [Outlet ＬＡＮ] 3 No problem especially. A traditional onsen hotel, recently renovated and facilities modernised. The twin bed room is large - about 50 sq m in size. In addition, there is a balcony overlooking an excellent view. The breakfast and dinner buffet are fine, though not very special. I like the Japanese style dinner better. The hotel is situated inside the mountain. Access is not easy. There are no shops nearby.

We stayed for one night from July 9 (Sat) and stayed with a couple in the Japanese style room ”Nikwa” on the third floor. The purpose of this time was to touch the nature of ASO and to feel the liberation and to soak in a hot spring with good quality of springs. The room was more modern and sophisticated than I thought and more than expected. It was a room that was renewed last year. What I was worried about was that the closet was an old Japanese house, and it smelled mold without lighting, and the mattress on the bed was a little too hard, and the view was not good even on the third floor. The bath was a pure source hanging water, which did not heating, water or circulation, and the hot water temperature was just right, and it was a very good quality hot spring as rumored. However, the size is small and there is no open-air bath. I also used ”taruyu” in the rental bath, but it was well maintained and very comfortable. The meal was ”red beef steak seat”. There were many items and all were very delicious, but I thought that the red beef of the heart was a little fat and the mountain woman fish was quite small. The service was made to be a woman from Nepal, but there were several points that I was worried about, such as vertically distributing rectangular dishes of incense. I think this is a problem of staff training. Overall, it is a very old established inn with a very historical style, and it is well understood that it is carefully maintained, and it is thought that it is a hot spring inn with a taste. I felt that the charm of this inn was exhausted by the word ”good quality hot spring”.

The Western-style room had a good view with a golf course and a plateau overlooking the magnificent Mt. Aso Outer Ring. The room was comfortable with a sofa, chairs and tables and two semi-double beds. Actually, it was a large bath in a golf resort, so I didn't expect much bath. However, the hot springs were hanging from the source, and both the indoor bath and the four open-air baths (including the barrel bath 2) were all hanging from the source, and it was a good hot spring with a little brown hot spring. I checked out at 11 o'clock, but I was a little disappointed that the bath was until 9 am. The meal was a Japanese and Western appetizer, a cooking and a hot bowl at the restaurant. In the second half, the dinner was good with soft Kumamoto beef and seafood grilled on a ceramic plate, high-vegetable rice and miso soup, and delicious desserts. After checking out, if you are trying to take a picture with Kumamon in the lobby, the staff will carry a large Kumamon to the outside by cart, saying that you should take a picture in a good place with a good view of Mt. Cost-effective, two thousand mosquitoes downstairs is the best choice Public hot springs have a beautiful environment. I was traveling with children aged 1 and 4, so it was good to be able to adjust what you can eat and the amount if you are a buffet. If you want quality, you may want to be better than a buffet. The receptionist man who was corresponding to Saturdays and Sundays at the Viking Restaurant, Papillon, was very kind. I put ice in the bag later to bring it to my son who had knocked down the transparent panel to cool it just in case. He asked me if I found it when I forgot something, and when I told him that it was still there, he said that I could prepare it if it was like this, and I refrained because there was a spare. I was grateful for your consideration. My son was completely nostalgic. I was taking measures to wet, but the sheets were off and my son wetted on the day ２, but it's okay to tell the front desk. I was relieved to say that it would be okay if you could turn the sheets over. The weather was not good, but my son enjoyed it because I could play at the indoor Qua Resort Omer. My son wants to stay more! It was good because it seemed to be fun.

Everything is awesome except for a little bit of position! We took the bus from Kumamoto and crossed the bus from Kyushu. We got off at the entrance of Yoshiji-mura and walked towards the signboard of the whole family. The location was next to the family. The pure Japanese experience is really good! Tatami, yukata, raft, stone bath... I don't know if it's because of the off-season, we almost have a hhh breakfast and it is quite rich, especially for people who like Japanese food (not Japanese). I will stay here when I come to Aso next time. By the way, I hope that Jr can quickly repair it. From the hotel to the jr station, it is still a bit painful hhhh.

Welcome sweets are handmade ohagi, and matcha. I've been caught from the beginning! The futon was clean, the color taste was fashionable, and the family rental bath with four was small, but it was very clean and the worry about the amenities was the best. There were many kinds of dinner and breakfast. When I checked out, I had a big diaper and sent it out with a cheerful smile. It is an inn that makes me want to go again.

A restaurant inn close to ASO Jinja shrine. Service and the cherry blossom room in the building are good. Now it is a small number of people, and the drink order during the meal is painful. It is highly likely that it will arrive at the back entrance from ASO Jinja shrine and bus stop, and in that case, it may take time to notice even if it enters. You can experience traditional Japanese relaxing time at this accommodation. They have a lot of separated Onsen rooms, and some could be locked by yourself as a private bath room. I recommend you to try some Onsen. You can also eat local dinner with a lot of dishes. The bed room is cover with Tatami which is a Japanese straw mat, and the Tatami is comfortable with your barefoot. Also no bed, you have to sleep on Japanese rug Futon. The facility is enough clean as well. I would like to stay again the accommodation when I will re-visit Kurokawa Onsen village. 静かな温泉街のステキな旅館。1泊だけでしたが、とても満足度の高い時間を過ごす事が出来ました。 この旅館にはたくさんの露天と内湯温泉があり、そのうち宿泊者用の家族風呂が10近くあります。部屋数も多くない旅館なので、ほぼ必ず楽しむ事が出来るでしょう。湯温もちょうどよく、家族風呂をはしごして楽しみました。 食事も素晴らしく、とても美味しい熊本料理を楽しめました。料理の質はかなり高かったと感じました。 仲居さんは研修生と書かれた、若い男性でしたが、対応も説明もしっかりこなしてくれて満足です。 また黒川温泉に来る機会があれば、お世話になりたい、そう思える時間でした。

I stayed with my eldest son's family of 4 who live in Kumamoto.They said they had never stayed at Kurokawa Onsen even though they had lived in Kumamoto for about 6 years, so they came all the way from Saitama to pay all the expenses to us.I wonder what's going on. (lol) The accommodation was a large inn in Kurokawa Onsen, but we entered the hot springs at 4pm, 8pm, and 7am the next day, but for some reason we had almost exclusive access to the hot springs.We had a large indoor bath surrounded by a bamboo grove, and a Japanese cypress bath. There are three hot springs: two, an open-air bath, and a hot spring with an open-air bath that can be used by visitors.The second one was probably the best.The quality of the spring water is simple.The room was an ordinary Japanese-style room, but you could hear the sound of a waterfall from the river flowing beside it. The meal was a buffet, and the tuna sushi with red vinegar was excellent.Afterwards, we had various types of skewers, amberjack sashimi, roast beef, and my elementary school grandson ate 5 rolls of eel, which was overeating.There were all-you-can-drink shochu drinks. We were able to compare the drinks! The shochu from Kurokawa Onsen was delicious, and the breakfast buffet included natto and milk that were locally produced and delicious.At night, we got to see Jupiter and the moon through an astronomical telescope, and my grandson was impressed! I didn't go for a walk around the city due to the cold weather, so I just stayed at the inn, but I was able to take it easy.I think this is an inn that families can enjoy together.

The front desk is an old-fashioned inn style. The slippers that enter the eye as soon as they enter the room are dirt and heel cut off, and even if the paper of ”disinfected” is riding, it is hesitant to wear today. The hand towel for hot springs is not dedicated to oneself who entered the vinyl, but washed and used. The room and the shared space are not deteriorated, but I felt that I was working hard in the double punch of the earthquake and corona. The bath is divided into ”dondoyu” which can take a day trip bath and a hot spring dedicated to guests. ”Dondoyu” is located at the hotel front desk, looking at the vast garden, and walking 2,3 minutes through the crossing corridor where there is a rabbit hut on the way. There was an open-air bath that had been boldly made in the garden, and there was an open-air bath that had been pulled out of hot water due to corona, but the large open-air bath was put in a source. In the morning, ”dondoyu” was closed, so I went to the guest only, but I was able to enjoy it at a hot spring with a wide 々 with an open-air bath. As for the meal, breakfast was normal, but dinner was great. Especially the red beef pottery plate was amazing, and such a delicious steak was not eaten easily. The overall evaluation is 3.5 points. If you close your eyes to oldness, it is a hotel that can be satisfied enough.

1) When booking a room, I only know that breakfast/dinner is included, and when I check-in, I know that there is only one beef bento for dinner. My friend doesn't eat beef, and the hotel is also flexible. We each add more than 4,000 yen to the dinner buffet. The food provided by the buffet is not tasty, and the food is not hot, so we have to make do with it when we have no choice. It would be nice if the hotel could provide one more bento option for vegetarians/religious people. 2) The reason for choosing this hotel was to see the starry sky, but the weather was not as expected, it was cloudy and I couldn't see it. The food is not good, I didn't see the starry sky, I regret choosing this hotel.

We found a good deal on the web site, which included discounts for having proof of vaccines, plus coupons totaling ¥8,000. I think the coupons were part of the ”Go To Travel” campaign. These coupons could only be used in Oita prefecture, by the next day. The hotel has a grand, luxurious appearance and feel, but also feels dated. After check-in, we took the shuttle bus to the outside onsen (about 5 minutes away). This was included in the price (I am not sure if it is actually owned by the hotel. There is a fee for people who are not staying at the hotel). This onsen was glorious! All the baths are outside, surrounded by trees and nature. The only caveat is that there were many stairs going down to the onsen. I did not expect that at all, and it was not easy on my knees (no problem for my partner). The other onsen in the hotel (there were two) also involved walking (it is as large hotel), and some stairs too. The floors in the onsen seemed more slippery than I remember any other onsen I have visited before. Dinner was buffet style. Due to COVID restrictions, we had to get our temperature checked, and wear plastic gloves while serving ourselves (there was a box at the table, and a container for disposal of them). The seating was partitioned, and it was very comfortable. Even though it was a buffet, there were 3 choices for seating: 5:00 pm, 6:30 pm and 8:00 pm, with a 90 minute limit. The food was good, but my partner had to stand in line at a station for freshly prepared meat for 30 minutes. Breakfast was served in the same place as dinner. We got a lower-priced deal, and our room was on the 1st floor. The hallway was a little dark compared to the other floors (which we had to access for the front desk/entrance to the hotel and to get to the dining area and the onsen). To me, there was a musty smell that my partner did not notice. The place is older, and it is right next to the river, and it was the middle of Japanese (humid) summer, and I assume not all the rooms are like this. There was a can of roach spray in the closet (which thankful we did not need!), and requests not to open the windows to prevent bugs from getting in the room. The sound and site of the river outside the window was wonderful. The beds (two twin beds) were comfortable and we got a good night's sleep. It was my partner's 50th birthday, so we mentioned this to see if they had any thing special (even for an extra charge). They gave a card and a plastic rose (I think the rose was for the birthday), but said they did not have anything else. The water pot already had hot water in it when we arrived. I appreciate that. They also had the kind of coffee in which you open the single pack, put it over the cup (good size, not tiny like some places) and pour hot water on it (like a one cup drip coffee- not instant). I often travel with these types of coffee packs as a lot of hotels in Kyushu only have instant coffee or none at all in the rooms. The

The staff will move you to the parking lot a little far away. The lobby, lounge, and front desk are on the ３ floor, and the wooden building makes you feel warm. The room I stayed in was on the ２ floor of the new building. １０ It feels wide even in a Japanese-style room with tatami mats. It is also nice to have a four-tatami service room with a digging. The water of the river flows nearby, and the sound of the water clears your heart. The large communal bath is on the １ floor, the indoor bath and the open-air bath, both of which are equipped with natural stones. The quality of the spring is colorless and odorless salt spring. There is no feeling of slimy, but the body warms up to the core. Dinner • Breakfast is full of content. Dinner is a course meal. Every dish is really delicious because it makes full use of the characteristics of seasonal ingredients. The salt-grilled salmon is salty and very fat and delicious. There was also a cherry blossom for breakfast, but it is tempura, so it seems that the taste is different from the cherry blossom for dinner and eating another river fish. Even if you use the same ingredients, you can realize that if the cooking method changes, the taste changes like magic. The rice was also very delicious. The grains of rice 々 stand and shine is evidence of delicious rice.

The environment is beautiful, there are 2 outdoor large baths and cave hot springs for alternate use, because each room has a separate bath and only 5 guests on the day, and 3 times I went to the large bath and did not meet other guests. Breakfast and dinner are very rich. Because it is far from Kurokawa Hot Spring Street, it is more suitable for self-driving tours.

Go from the front desk to the back and cross the bridge on the river and enter the building with the room. It is a clean and rustic inn. In addition to the open-air bath and the public bath, there are ６ rental baths that are aimed at each. The bath is free to enter if it is empty rather than a reservation system. It is also convenient to be able to confirm ”empty” on the TV in the room. The meal is served in a private room prepared for each room near the front desk in the morning and evening. It was not a menu that was aimed at, but it was a dish with a feeling of handmade. From the pick-up, the guide, the meal waiter and one person were in charge. I had a service that matched the pace of the customer without hurrying. In the morning, he was sent to the master of the inn and received a handwritten thank you later.

A more modern hot spring hotel has a different feeling from a traditional Japanese-style hotel. The service is not so good. The room is very large. There are two private soups indoors and outdoors. The dinner is full and delicious. The breakfast and dinner are relatively simple. But it is not bad. It’s a pity that I only stayed for one day, and I will stay for a few more days next time.
