"We appreciated the one-mattress queen-size bed, something we found to be a rarity in our Iceland trip (the norm seemed to be two twin-beds slammed together, which just isn't the same thing. The staff was helpful and the facilities clean and well-maintained.

"We have a 1 night stay at Midgard Camp during our 9 days road trip in Iceland. It is our 2nd stop hotel of our trip.
Though the room are not big, but it is comfortable, good and cosy enough for all. The family rooms comes with 1 double bed plus 1 bunk bed enough for all 4 of us.
The whole place is very vibrant, friendly staff, nicely decorated and energetic yet peaceful and quiet for individual enjoyment. The whole place is very well maintained and It is very clean even the common toilet as I bathe there to avoid waiting for our private toilet to save some time. The common kitchen is for all guests and is well equipped. We cooked our hot meal as well as breakfast there. We can also enjoy the complementary coffee/tea from the hotel paid breakfast. Overall, We enjoy our stay there even though it is just 1 night. The location is easily found with the GPS, you wouldn't miss it. Highly recommended this place. Also, really appreciate the friendly staff giving us a round tour of the place explaining where are the common toilet, hot bathe tub, dryer for our swim wear should we use the hot bathe tub and sauna. This is indeed exceed our expectation actually. 10/10!"

"This is our first night in Iceland, after going to the Blue Lake Hot Spring, we walked in the capital for a while. Since the traffic jam came at 8:30 in the evening, although we booked dinner at 7:30, the hotel is very good! Let us eat after 1 hour late. The hotel's  meal is good and delicious! The room is not bad, if you see the aurora at night, you can go directly out of the room."

"Excellent! The hotel's location right off Highway 1 is perfect, and it's a very striking and beautiful building. The facilities are great, the room is spacious, clean, and tidy, and there's a sauna and two semi-open-air hot spring pools. After a full day exploring the Glacier Lagoon in the cold weather, a soak in the hot springs and a sauna session were incredibly relaxing. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, and the food was good too. They also offer free ice and water to guests, and the breakfast was superb, with everything you could ask for. Every food item and coffee beverage was high quality. Definitely a night that was excellent value for money."

悠長 旅遊 日記Hótel Grímsborgir is absolutely fantastic! The location is super convenient, right next to the Golden Circle, making it easy to drive to all the attractions. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and each one has its own private hot tub or a shared one. Soaking in the hot tub and stargazing at night is incredibly therapeutic~ The breakfast spread is varied and fresh, and the staff are all very enthusiastic. I definitely want to stay here again on my next trip to Iceland! Highly recommended for self-driving travelers looking to relax!

- Breakfast was very good!
- Room and bed was warm.
- hot water shower works almost instantly.
- Netflix and Amazon Prime available on the TV.
Can be improved:
- toilet slide door emited loud screeching sound which was annoying.
- poor sound isolation between floors, we stayed on the ground floor and we could hear stomping the whole night. We feedback this to the hotel staff but was just given a “I cannot do anything about it” face and a shoulder shrug which clearly indicated they did not have the intention to do anything about it.
- phone in the room was not working, staff had to reboot it as they said it’s a common issue.
- the air vent in the bathroom stopped moving after sometime, was told to turn it off and on again to make it work again.
- we checked in the same time as another couple at the reception, we overheard that they got a complementary room upgrade from the standard room (same as us). We asked if we would be upgraded as well, staff just told us that it depends on the amount we paid for the room. But clearly we booked the same standard room?
Overall:
Room rate was on the high side and much was expected but the condition of the room and service were under delivered.

We have a 1 night stay at Midgard Camp during our 9 days road trip in Iceland. It is our 2nd stop hotel of our trip.

-Rechen-Hepburn is a very quiet town, so this hotel is quite good in comparison. It's an older-style hotel with no elevator, only stairs. By 7 or 8 PM, there were no supermarkets open for shopping. Overall, if I were to stay in the area again, I'd choose Wicke (assuming Wicke is another location/hotel name, otherwise it might be a typo for 'Wick' referring to a brand of essentials).

The sheet is not really cleaned. There are some hairs on the bed that is clearly not mine because they are not the same hair type nor the same hair color. The room als smells a bit weird. The room is not “ready” when we are there because one of the bed is missing a leg and we had to notify the desk about this issue. I don’t think this should happen to a hotel that cost almost 480 USD for two nights. Never the less, the location is great and 30 minute drive to Skatefall.

Guest UserThe sunset was absolutely stunning! The hotel is located right by the harbor, offering beautiful window views. The facilities are brand new, breakfast is included, and parking is convenient. Plus, it's only a 3-minute walk to that famous lobster restaurant. I have to give a special shout-out to the bearded guy at the front desk – he was incredibly helpful! He even carried our luggage, effortlessly lugging a 28-inch suitcase and a 30-liter backpack (easily 40kg total) up to the second floor by himself. What a powerhouse!

The hotel is very close to the volcanic lake, the surrounding scenery is beautiful, the room is clean and hygienic. The disadvantage is that there is almost no wifi signal, breakfast is simple, there are few varieties, and there are more tourists and need to queue.

We stayed in this cabin for a one night and were very impressed by how comfortable and well equipped it was. The kitchenette had a microwave and a kettle to prepare simple meals, and the bathroom was modern and spotless. The floor heating created a cozy atmosphere, especially in the mornings. The location is perfect—just a short walk to the sea, where the fresh air and views are breathtaking. One of the highlights was the many sheep grazing nearby, which gave the area a peaceful, countryside charm. It’s an ideal place to relax and recharge, highly recommended!

LivoryGreat place as a rest stop near kirkjubaer. We used Hotel Laki is a base for 3D2N. Nice view from room, service staff spoke english very well. Breakfast was basic and sufficient, eggs, vegetables, cold cuts and cereal with various sauces. Bread toasting station. Id say the machine coffee (espresso based) was one of the best machine made ones we had in Iceland. Nice view from restaurant and bar as well. My room was missed for cleaning but its fine not much had to be done anyway. Plenty of room and bathroom space. Welcomed by a lovely border collie in the compound. Bar opens late till 11
