"Hotel is really very nice, very cosy. A wee bit out for Aviemore if not driving. Didn't eat there but the large restaurant was well used for both breakfast and dinner so I assume all OK. There is a swimming pool although I didn't use this. Overall I didn't use the facilities but they were well used by others. The Woodshed, which is an external bar on the grounds is good, great pizza. The entertainment - a few nights in the hotel and one night in the woodshed - is fine. I would go to this hotel again."

"Good location however parking was very limited. We were staying 2 nights and didn’t manage to get a space resulting in us having to pay for parking when the website stated free parking it was a big factor in choosing this hotel. The decor is very dated and scruffy but rooms are clean. Rooms don’t get made up daily unless you request. The windows were very draughty resulting in us keeping the curtains drawn shut. The windows were obscured anyway so you couldn’t use them as a window so guess it didn’t matter. The staff on the desk were polite and efficient."

"Room was very good and clean but it turned out that you could hear every move of the people in the room above. At 6 am this particular person decided to do his 10000 steps a day in his room and it sounded as if an elephant was marching through. No way to continue your sleep so we ended up having to get up and we left the hotel at 7.15am. I had complained the night before but since the hotel was fully booked there were no other options. I was told it was because of the wooden structure so obviously it was a known issue and they should NOT book both rooms at same time.
They also had 2 dogs behind unmanned reception and one of them yapped continuosly for an hour whilst we had our dinner. As we finished dinner they started bringing out cornflakes etc for breakfast for the following morning and left this uncovered, thought this was very unhygienic.
Alcohol prices way too high too ( bottle of wine £35.50). All in all not a good experience and wouldn't recommend."

"Excellent hostel! Great common self-catering facilities; there were two full kitchens with plenty of tables and seating so multiple parties could be cooking at a time. Staff were very helpful and let me leave my bag before check-in and after check-out to accommodate my bus times.
The room (4-bunk female dorm) was very spacious so plenty of room for sorting through my bags. Bunk was large and included a USB plug and power outlet there. Room had large attached shower and toilet rooms."

"Hotel cleanliness is moderate not neat. Found leftover trash from the previous guest.
They did not make up your room ( I stay for 3 nights) and don’t have door tag sign like it should.
However breakfast is ok and have enough parking lots.
Internet connection is ok not bad but not good."

GGuest UserWe were supposed to stay a night on the 3rd, however due to total disaster with the snow (police closing roads, snow gates shut, buses not running, train cancelled last minute) we were unable to travel and had to cancel the onwards travel plans. We explained the situation providing evidence that it was not possible for us to get anywhere and kindly asked if possible to amend to another date, but were refused.
Stayed in the hotel before, not a bad place, but very disappointed that they had not been more understanding of our already disrupted start of the 2026.
GGuest UserAwful. Initially I was in a double room. Women daily 0540 by loud music which I believe was the kitchen staff starting breakfast preparation. Moved to single room on my final night. The heating on full was the difference between having a cooler box or a freezer. No cable other than power cable for the TV so no reception whatsoever. This was pointed out to the reception desk who told me no maintenance staff were available due to rostering. A coaxial cable would probably resolve the problem. However that was not provided. The staff were polite but had their hands tied on what they could do to resolve the issues. Just an awful experience sadly as the hotel is in a prime position. Polite staff who had to attend to a number of embarrassing complaints from other guests.
GGuest UserPerfect hotel if you’re visiting the area. Lovely location and views of the river and cathedral. Easy walking distance to shops, bars and restaurants.
Rooms are of a high standard.
Excellent drinks variety with the distillery and brewery on site.
Service is impeccable.
Great breakfast.
GGuest UserReally great Hotel. Cheapest around as well so don’t really get when people book cheap hotels and complain that it’s not 5* 😂. Location is amazing. The Loch is beautiful. Staff are really nice. Rooms have everything you need and are quite spacious. Food is really good although a wee bit expensive but still good sized portions.
KK T Richard TanStayed here recently when i was touring Scotland. A very nice hotel. Location quite far from Inverness city centre. There is no expressway to and from this hotel at the airport. So the drive can be slow due to the small roads.
The close proximity to the airport does not present any aircraft noise problem. But I could hear my neighbour's hair dryer.
I like the size of the room and the bathroom. Larger than most hotels. I particularly like the walkin shower as my wife and I can't climb in and out of bath tubs.
The breakfast was great even though the variety of choices may not be as large as other Marriott brands of hotels. Fried eggs need to be ordered. The sunnyside up was the best i have eaten.
The staff were all wonderfully friendly and helpful.
You must register your car to avoid being charged. But I am sure with the many talents in the entire Marriott group, I am sure they can think of a better way to manage the parking system without their customers complaining on Internet.
Overall my wife and I enjoyed our stay.
GGuest UserThis hotel was the perfect base for traveling The Isle of Skye! Check in was easy, there were lots of parking (some close, some far), coffee and breakfast had some selections, we had dinner at the hotel too and it was great. It says that there might not be warm water at all times, but we had warm water every time we showered with great water pressure! This was an affordable and easy place!

GGuest UserThe hotel provided an overall satisfactory stay. The location was convenient, and the staff were generally polite and helpful. The room was clean, although the facilities appeared somewhat dated and could benefit from improvement. The breakfast offered a reasonable selection, but the quality was average. Wi-Fi and other amenities worked adequately, though not exceptionally well.
Overall, the hotel met basic expectations and provided acceptable value for money. While there were no major issues during the stay, there was also nothing particularly outstanding. It is a suitable option for travelers seeking a comfortable and straightforward stay.
GGuest UserMy Mum and I stayed here for a night, we wanted something special and we had a lovely experience! This hotel may be old but I felt that was part of the charm, especially because you can pick up a paper at the desk which tells you all about the history of it (including how Mae West had a room there!).
The man at reception was lovely, as were the bar staff, and we had a great sleep in a cozy, nicely themed room with a great bathtub. My Mum especially appreciated the Bible being left in the bedside table as well. That may have been done by a guest but it was nice that the staff left it there nonetheless in case somebody wanted to read it. There were a number of little touches like that, and we had a garden view which was lovely.
Also the breakfast was included in our booking, and well worth it! I'd recommend this stay for anyone looking to have a nice night in the Scottish countryside!
SSu_M.SThe room was spacious enough for 3 people with luggages.
The view from the room was very nice with the lake and mountains. Our room was at ground level so we had direct access from our room to outside which is the lakeside and it was very nice. but keep the doors closed all times after used as it is near the lakeside and ground level. we saw a snake (not poisonous) in the grass outside the room in the early morning.
The foods and drinks at the restaurant was nice although abit pricey.
The view from the restaurant during breakfast in the morning was beautiful.
You can bring swimsuits if u want to use the Hot spring in the hotel. We didn’t get to use but it looked nice.
There is a co-op near the hotel.
The only thing I wish they were better during our stay was the attitude of some staffs. The guy with the bald head was kinda rude to us during breakfast.
