"The location is fantastic! Our room had a view of the church, and it's just a 10-minute walk to the cathedral. It's even more convenient if you're traveling by train, as the station is only a 3-minute walk away. The breakfast is a Western-style quick meal, with a limited selection. I really enjoyed the grilled mushrooms, and the cereal bowls were delicious too.
The room and bathroom were a bit small, and you'll need to bring your own toothbrush and slippers."

"The hotel is very close to the train station, about a 5-minute walk through the city walls, which is very convenient. York city isn't large, and most attractions and shopping streets are within walking distance. We booked two rooms and arrived a little after 2 PM. The front desk initially thought we only had one room and assigned us a room on the first floor, ignoring our request for a higher floor. When I told him we had booked two rooms, he then said the other room could be on a higher floor, but we couldn't get the keys until after 3 PM. So, we had to take all our luggage to the first-floor room first. As soon as we opened the door, there was a strange smell, which got a little better after turning on the air conditioning. Since we were only staying for one night, we didn't bother to discuss it further. When we returned in the evening, we picked up the keys for the second room, which was on a higher floor. The cleanliness was noticeably better than the first-floor room, and there was no strange smell. Both rooms were quite spacious, which was a plus. Breakfast was semi-buffet style; you could order one hot dish, and then help yourself to bread, fruit, and other items."

"The hotel is in an excellent location. 5 minutes walk to the town centre. Parking is provided with a car park underneath the hotel. A discount is given out by reception if you are staying in the hotel. On check in we were offered an upgraded room which was excellent. Very spacious with everything you need for a comfortable overnight stay. All the facilities in the room worked very well. Toiletries are provided in the bathroom. Tea and coffee making facilities are excellent. We were staying on room only basis so cannot comment on the breakfast. Check in was very good and all the staff were very helpful and polite. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be happy to use again when visiting Harrogate."

Although the breakfast selection wasn't extensive, it was definitely enough to fill you up. 👍"

"The hotel is good, situated in a nice place (for drivers), parking is free. Room was of a good size, very clean and quiet. Water pressure and temperature were amazing, enjoyed our showers. Good to have a breakfast included as well. Hotel is clean and looks recently renovated. Floors are solid. Huge and good towels, a lot of light in the room. Heating was on when it got colder. Staff were very friendly and nice.
Parking was full because of the bank holiday, had to stay far on an overflow parking, good that they have it.
Warning about 160 fee for running hot water with the steam was honestly scary and inappropriate.
Bed was just double, small for us. We were only able to sleep on our sides (my husband is big, I am average).
Breakfast was tasty, but basic. Coffee (you choose tea or coffee) in a pot was too much for 1 person and not tasty at all. No fresh vegetables or/and vegetables, no sliced cheese, no pastry."

"A solid hotel, comparable to Hampton Inn hotels back home. There are two Hampton Inns in York, so when driving, it's best to enter the postcode for navigation. Don't just type the brand name. If you use the hotel name, make sure to add the location. We went to the wrong one initially and had to drive for another 5 minutes to get to the correct one.
The hotel's location is excellent. About 100 meters to the left when you exit, there's a Tesco Express, which is very affordable. On the ground floor outside the hotel, there's a surprisingly open, semi-enclosed glass baggage lift that can take large luggage up to the lobby.
The rooms are spacious, and the bathroom has the standard Hampton Inn setup. The room is functional, similar to its counterparts in China, though it lacks the complimentary self-service laundry facilities typically found in equivalent hotels there.
Breakfast is a self-service buffet included in the room rate. It's a British-style buffet with eggs, sausages, ham, grilled tomatoes, baked beans, various breads, toaster breads, four types of stewed fruit, fresh apples. On weekends, bananas are also available. There's coffee, fresh milk, yogurt, nuts, cereals, and portable packaged fiber biscuits. My friends were very happy with the food."

A 10-minute walk from York Minster sits our home in this noble city. The remains of the Roman walls are close to the hotel making this treasure of a place to explore entirely walkable. History is everywhere and so is superb shopping dining and drinking.
The building is a Grade II Listed Regency townhouse of extremely stately proportions and head-turningly good looks. Inside the high ceilings and original features are joined by the kind of things we like to share with our guests. Pantries stocked full of treats for the taking great restaurant food throughout the day delicious drinks from the bar a spa centered on bespoke therapies and a straight-from-the-heart welcome.

"Breakfast was okay, not a huge variety. The bedding and towels were clean. However, the room's floor felt slanted to one side, and even the bed frame and mattress were tilted. Since I was staying alone for just two days, I was too tired and lazy to bother switching rooms."

We had a great stay at the Crown Spa Hotel. All the staff were super friendly, nothing was to much trouble. The rooms were clean and fresh, we had a sea view. Meals in the Restaurant were very good value and excellent quality.
We had treatments in the Spa, the Girls were super friendly, welcoming and chatty.
We will certainly be returning.

Guest UserThe hotel must have been amazing in the past but unfortunately it's way beyond it's best. We had to wait 45 minutes to check in. My single room was the size of a box with no soap or shower gel. The window sill was filthy along with the window and there was a nest of seagulls on my window sill. They were so noisy.
The room doors are so heavy and noisy and people were banging them all night.
The rest of the hotel was tired and needs a good injection of money to be worthy of staying here again.
We will not be back.
All the staff were very friendly though.

Perfect location for a sightseeing trip to York, with car parking. The hotel was gorgeous, beautiful room (we had blenheim suite), huge copper bath in the bedroom (bring your own bubble bath!), super comfy bed, beautifully decorated room. Reception staff lovely and very knowledgeable of local area. Lovely bar too with friendly staff, a range of boardgames available which was fun. Breakfast room had a great Churchill theme ( brilliant top/bowler hat lighting). Would definitely recommend. Thank you for a really lovely stay.

We had a small issue with the twin bed upon arrival, but the front desk staff resolved it quickly and was very kind. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The sea view during breakfast was beautiful and made the morning especially enjoyable.

I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton York for a short visit and, while the location was reasonably convenient, the overall experience fell short of expectations for a Hilton-branded hotel.
I was upgraded to a room located across the car park from the main building, accessed via stairs and without central heating. Instead, the room relied on standing portable heaters, which wasn’t ideal — especially given the wet weather and the need to walk outside to reach the room. The room itself felt quite tired and dated, with noticeably creaky floorboards both inside the room and from neighbouring rooms, which made it hard to fully relax.
The location is decent enough, but if you’re travelling by public transport there are better areas of York to stay in that offer easier access and a nicer overall setting.
I didn’t try the breakfast, as there are plenty of good local options nearby, which I enjoyed instead, so I don’t feel I missed out. One small disappointment was that coffee wasn’t available outside of breakfast hours.
Overall, with so many good accommodation options in York, I’m not likely to stay here again.

Guest UserHad a fantastic weekend in York with old friends from afar.. the Radisson York is well located for a great trek around the City .. restaurants and great pubs are all well within comfortable walking distance.
The hotel as a great bar for the last nightcap the buffet breakfast is brilliant .The hotel is located on the river with great views of some of the night life and during the day just to relax..
My next time in York will be with the Radisson..and it also offers good parking which is very secure albiet it does come on first come basis.. but overall this hotel is excellant.. thankyou Radisson.
