"The hotel was really convenient for the train station being only 5 to 10 minutes walk away. This was great as we had booked a train via Trip at a super price. The hotel is a great base to explore the area including Brixham, Torquay, Teignmouth and Dawlish - using the train was cheap and quick. Now for the hotel - We arrived at around 2pm and the room was ready which was a result. The lift is operated by the room key and is good for security. The room was clean and large with a super king sized bed and a walk in shower with toiletries and hairdryer. There is also an iron and ironing board if needed. The room was very comfortable and extremely quiet and soundproofed. There is air con or heating in the room and the maid visited daily to make up the room and replenish the tea and coffee. We booked a breakfast included room - highly recommended! There is a buffet for hot breakfast plus cereals, fruit, toast, croissants and pastries. Tea, coffee and juices. Everything was replenished as needed - My advice is to book this because it is £18 PP if bought on the day. The staff here were exceptional from the front desk to the maids and the restaurant and bar staff - very nice crew and most helpful and polite. We ate in the hotel on one of our nights and found there to be a decent choice with a vegetarian option or two. There are a few good eating houses nearby - we recommend Henrys Bar and The Local Thai as really good places. Overall this hotel is extremely good and very good value for money - We will stay again if in the area."

"It was a very small room. Small double bed. Hotel dated. Needs a good paint. Excellent location right on the sea front. There is parking right outside which is chargeable. The staff were very nice. Easy check in. Continental breakfast was adequate for £7 each. No food other than breakfast."

"Beautiful boutique hotel in a fabulous building. Staff were exceptionally polite, helpful & well trained. Food was excellent evening meal and breakfast. We used the Spa facilities which were as good as any we’ve been to. Will come back when working this way in the next few weeks."

"The outside of the hotel needs sprucing up, the inside is tired too, but our room was huge. A slight sea view too. The staff were all lovely, breakfast was great too. The location was a pleasant walk away from the Princess Theatre. Plenty of places to eat along the way too."

"The best hotel in this area, bar none, but it can only be reached by car. The front desk is friendly and the restaurant service is quite satisfying. Remember to make reservations for restaurants and swimming pools, otherwise you may not have a seat"

"The hotel and area was fantastic, however, service at the front desk and the restaurant was lacking. We took a long weekend break and were excited to try the beach club, however our experience was dampened by the service. Being made to stand around for 5 minutes, whilst being told we hadn't paid (when we had) was unnecessary and frankly embarrassing. The restaurant was the most disappointing part of the stay. I'm the evening service was slow, followed by having our order wrong twice and also dropped. Breakfast at the restaurant was lacking compared to cheaper hotels that offer continental. Small selection , nothing outstanding. When we ordered a cooked breakfast, it took 30-40 minutes to receive some eggs and pancakes although the restaurant was fairly quiet. However, the room, facilities, and the spa were fantastic. Beautiful and comfortable rooms. The beach club outside was gorgeous. The spa was perfect and treatments were, to quote my partner, 'one of the best massages of my life'. We're unsure if we would come back. Although the facilities were great, the service was mostly subpar and not what we'd expect from a harbour hotel."
