We are Malaysian & can speak mandarin. Don’t worry if you’re non-chinese speaker, they will try their best to communicate with you.
Sonzhuju Coffee & Tea Holiday Villa is convenient for those who bring big luggage. They have a service to help carry your luggage too, from the main road (approx 170m). And please let them know once you arrived at the main road! The hotel is away from loud noise & busy from the main area. Cosy place & strategic for us staying in 3D2N. The room was clean. Breakfast included, but for Muslims, please mention that you’re Muslim, then they will prepare you veggie options. And you can choose to have your meal in your room or their eating area. Ai Fei, a local host from the hotel, was very helpful in arranging our customised tour trip. We texted the hotel via WeChat 8–9 days prior to our arrival in Lijiang. We asked if there was any local there who could advise us on the trip and straightaway they made a group for discussion. He'd make sure that we were all okay & happy to discuss our plan to visit any area that we would like to go to. He arranged our private car trip to JDSM & Blue Moon Valley and brought the ticket for us too. Upon we'd arrived at the hotel, he served us a welcome tea, fruit and flower cake. From the next morning we are going to JDSM & Blue Moon Valley. He advised us on what the do’s and don't prior to our trip. The private driver that he helped arrange for us was also very helpful & patient to ensure that we felt safe going to the place (group chat). He also helped to arrange a private car for us to Shangri-la. Overall, he made our plan and trip smoothly. As for the Muslims, you can ask him or the hotel host to recommend where the nearest Muslim restaurant they will definitely find for you. Overall, definitely recommend staying here. We are happy with our stay here.

Stayed here for a night and it was such a memorable experience. The natural surroundings are absolutely stunning, nature at its best!! The room was very nice, and the view was simply amazing. I especially loved seeing the animals around; they all looked so happy and well cared for, which added to the overall charm of the place.
One of the highlights was the complimentary photography session and it was truly special and something I’ll remember for a long time. The photographer was very professional and made the experience enjoyable.
The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, even late at night when we hadn’t sorted out our plans. We felt very well taken care of throughout our stay.
The food at the restaurant was also good and complemented the overall experience nicely. I would definitely love to come back again in the future and highly recommend this place to others.

The room was super spacious, clean and tidy, with smart facilities. It's not far from the subway station, making it very convenient to take the subway or a taxi to Kunming's attractions. Downstairs, there's a night market and a farmers' market, which is great for staying a while, eating, strolling, and experiencing the local life of Kunming. The hotel staff were also very enthusiastic. It feels like much better value for money than staying near the old town.

Highly recommend for anyone to stay in this hotel. It is very conveniently situated, just a 10-sec walk from the Lijiang ancient town.
Getting to other attractions is very convenient as taxis are always just parked along the road. For 2 days we just used the taxis, and the fare is similar to the DIDI app.
The staff members are very welcoming especially Mr Liu. He is always around to check in on us and would recommend suitable itinerary based on our interests and needs. In fact, weeks before I were to check in, they contacted me for my Wechat account via Trip.com, and I have no problem contacting him to pick me up from the airport the day before I were to arrive.
Throughout my 5 days of stay with them, we felt we were staying at a friend's place rather than a hotel. There was much warmth and friendliness.
If I were to visit Lijiang again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay in this hotel again.

After two incredible days exploring Lijiang’s ancient cobblestone alleys and vibrant night markets, I have decided to extend my stay by one additional day. The charm of the Old Town, with its winding canals and timeless Naxi culture, has truly captured my heart. While the past two days allowed me to visit the iconic Black Dragon Pool and stroll along Sifang Street, I realize that one more day is needed to fully appreciate the surrounding beauty. Specifically, I take a day trip to the serene Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, whose peaks have been teasing me from a distance. A final evening wandering the quieter, lantern-lit lanes would also allow for a deeper connection to this UNESCO World Heritage site.

I'm so glad I booked this Chinese courtyard hotel. The lobby courtyard's lotus pond was crystal clear, and the pavilion had a wonderfully ethereal and artistic vibe. I loved the Chinese solid wood furniture and the antique lanterns in the room. Front desk staffer Xiao Liu and the other service personnel were very enthusiastic. They upgraded us to a suite for free and even helped with our luggage. The breakfast was especially exquisite, and the rice noodles were delicious. When we checked out and picked up our luggage, the manager even gifted us rose jam, making this a truly worthwhile trip to Dali.

Excellent 5-diamond hotel in the best location for holiday in Kunming. Easily our favourite hotel on our trip to Yunnan. Nanping Pedestrian Street and Shuncheng Shopping Centre are less than 5 minutes walk away. Kunming Old Street is not too far away either.
Our room was spacious, modern, clean and nicely decorated. Nice view from the windows. No smoke smell. The bathroom, vanity area and toilets were thoughtfully designed. There was even a portable clothes steamer in our room. Little details that made our stay more comfortable.
The were plenty of washing machines and dryers that were free for us to use. We didn’t even need to wait around for clothes to finish washing. The helpful staff there would help us transfer our washed clothes into the dryer. We just had to provide our room number, and the staff would keep the dried clothes into laundry bags for us to collect later. Best laundry service in any hotel in the world!
The breakfast buffet offered lots of choices.
The breakfast selection was quite good, with rice noodles, a simple salad, fruits, and pastries. It's super close to Heilongtan Park, just around the corner. If you want to see the 'Golden Mountain at Sunrise,' you can get up early, and you can even see the snow-capped peak from the rooftop. The owner is lovely and kind, and the front desk staff are very welcoming; they even helped carry my luggage to the car. Thank you! The only minor downside was that the room facing the alley was a bit noisy at night, probably from people returning late from their outings. Overall, it offers great value for money.

Coming to Xishuangbanna in December was perfect weather-wise. On the last day of my trip, before flying back north, I decided to spend a day at the hot springs. I chose the Ganlu room, which has pure hydrogen sulfide hot springs – definitely a sulfuric smell, but after soaking, my skin felt incredibly smooth, and I slept like a baby. Besides the private bath, there are also three small public hot spring pools and one large one. The butler mentioned that this area was originally a hot spring site. In the Peacock Valley courtyard, there are about 5-6 peacocks and a little calico cat. Breakfast is complimentary, and the environment is very comfortable. The only downside is that the road to the village is quite remote; I thought I had taken a wrong turn at one point.

Rraymond200909On the positive side, the hotel has quite a few recreational facilities, and the room amenities are decent and relatively new.
On the negative side, the biggest problem is the excessive dampness in the room. It was uncomfortable to sleep in, and although the hotel changed the bedding, it didn't help much. This might be due to the humid air during the rainy season in Xishuangbanna, but two things puzzled me: 1) The front desk said no one else had reported this issue before. 2) I stayed at three hotels during this trip, and Zhucheng was the third. The other two were right next to Zhucheng, and their rooms didn't feel noticeably damp.
Also, the hotel room didn't pay enough attention to some details. The sofa arrangement prevented the curtains from closing completely automatically; I had to manually close them. The refrigerator was also quite noisy, which affected my sleep.

GGuest UserBooked a six-night stay in a mountain-view villa for my family. The views were stunning, the rooms were spotless, the air was fresh, and the service was attentive. There were plenty of activities, and the airport transfers were perfectly on time. My whole family had an absolute blast!
My favorite part was watching the little white geese and ducklings swimming freely in the lake 𓅿𓅹 – they were incredibly cute! In the early morning, you could also witness the magnificent 'Golden Mountain in the Sun' spectacle. Breakfast was delicious, especially the Ersi noodles, which were truly unforgettable.
The staff were always warm and thoughtful, bringing us different special snacks every day, like rose cakes, roasted potatoes, and milk cheese… Each day brought a new surprise! My family also had a deep dive into traditional culture at the hotel, including the Naxi blessing ceremony, recycled paper making, and Dongba calligraphy and painting. It was both professional and fascinating! For those who love traditional culture, this is definitely not to be missed.
GGuest UserThe B&B is absolutely beautiful, I really love the decor style – it feels so cozy and inviting! The host even upgraded our room for free to a third-floor room with a balcony. Sitting on the balcony in the evening, enjoying the breeze and a glass of wine, truly made our trip incredibly comfortable and relaxing. And Sanjin (the dog) is so cute too! She had just had a bath the day we arrived and was very cuddly.

VVictoriaG1502The staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to assist with any requests, which made the stay feel very comfortable and welcoming.
The room was clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed. I especially appreciated the cozy ambience and the attention to detail in the amenities provided. The bed was comfortable, and the overall environment felt relaxing and peaceful — perfect for a short getaway.
The facilities were also well-kept, and the dining experience was enjoyable. Everything was presented nicely and the quality met expectations. The location is convenient yet tucked away enough to feel like a quiet retreat from the busy city.
Overall, it was a pleasant and fuss-free stay. I would definitely consider returning and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing hotel experience.

MMindyRCouldn't have asked for a better stay! The room was spacious and comfortable, with a beautiful view. The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly, communicating regularly via WeChat to make sure I had everything I needed. The location was great - just high enough to have a great view, not too many stairs down to the main square and not too many stairs back up to a convenient pick up spot just outside the old town.
BBingbingle、The room was very spacious and well-equipped.
The decor and design were fantastic. The renovation of the historic building is quite unique, and the courtyard is breathtaking.
The housekeeping service was excellent, and any requests were promptly addressed.
The breakfast was also delicious, featuring some unique dishes.
I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Yunnan.

SShinmyHaving stayed at numerous five-star and ultra-luxury hotels, I found this hotel's environmental design and pricing to be very reasonable. The accompanying activities like horseback riding, children's foraging, and handicrafts are perfect for a relaxing getaway, and they even offer childcare services. The hotel staff exude confidence; it's rare to see employees so passionate about their hotel. I booked for one night, but the complimentary services extended until the evening of the second day. Throughout this, there was no sense of being rushed out; on the contrary, they were even more patient and accommodating. It feels like this hotel is on its way to becoming something akin to the Amangani in Yellowstone. It's definitely an experience worth having when visiting Lijiang. The restaurant is also excellent, especially the chef who is very clean. After dinner, I saw him personally cleaning the window glass – truly dedicated to his work. Thumbs up! This is one of those hotels that's truly worth experiencing in life.

GGuest UserAs someone who loves taking photos, the estate itself is a natural studio:
the sea-view soaking tubs, the retro French-style corridors, the South France castle, the exotic Moroccan courtyard – everywhere is perfect for snapping pictures. I took so many beautiful photos, I'm thrilled!
I especially want to commend the service: airport transfers, help with luggage, afternoon tea, goodnight desserts, breakfast, and a dedicated private butler service group. The attention to detail was impeccable, and they were always ready to assist! My dress for photos got dirty dragging on the ground, and they even helped me wash and dry it. All the hotel staff were so warm; I truly felt like a VIP.
