Stayed for a night at Raddison Collection Hyland Shanghai. The location is obviously very central, and in the most crowded area of Shanghai. The hotel has two entrances and guests can directly get to Nanjing road through one of the entrances. It’s an ideal place to stay for tourists who wanna want to do sightseeing and not spend much time in the room. The rooms are rather small and not very bright. There wasn’t any bathtub in the room and the shower area was small. The air conditioner couldn’t be switched to heating mode and I felt a bit cold during my stay but I didn’t contact the hotel about it because I just stay for one night. The cleanliness was ok but not perfect, the reason might be that during this period the hotel was basically fully booked and the housekeepers were very busy. The staff that I met were all nice and helpful, especially the concierge staff who helped me with a package delivery that I had. Overall, my stay was ok but not great. I would recommend this place for its location but not for the rooms. Service was good.

Pros: - room is clean, spacious - location is great. Right along nanjing road. Walkable to the bund. - staff allowed us to early check in - concierge 礼宾部 available beside front desk that allows receipt of parcel delivery. Do email hotel for exact address. I ordered taobao stuff and sent to hotel concierge. Just need to provide order number and last 4 digit of my mobile to pick up my parcels. - locker available for food delivery - requested and got a room upgrade - allowed dabao of hotel breakfast as we checked out early, missing bfast buffet Cons: - air con seem to be centrally controlled. Was a bit warm and stuffy in the day. Staff said we can open windows for cooler air. - front desk staff were efficient but weren't very friendly. Didn't have eye contact and were glued to their computer screens when responding to our queries, not one staff but several staff on multiple occasions - no robot for sending delivery to rooms. Something that our little kids looked forward to and experienced in other hotels. - more pricey because of its location. Local driver suggest staying 4-5km outside central area to save on accoms and cab around.

My stay at this hostel was the best experience I’ve had in all the countries I’ve visited. The location is perfect — close to everything — and the place is extremely clean. Everything here is just perfect, and the staff are very friendly. I especially want to thank zhu xin niu for her kindness and help.

As expected of Shangri La, the service was great and top tier. Told them we were celebrating a birthday and they gave us a room facing the river and even helped to decorate the room?! Super good service and location (near Lujiazui and walkable to Oriental Pearl Tower). Near the Shanghai Tower as well. Friendly staff and clean place. Highly recommend. Special thanks to Lynn, minnie and vivian for the card.

Been here at least three times already. It’s a nice boutique hotel, hidden in a courtyard and located very conveniently, just a 10 min. walk from Jing’An temple subway station and in walking distance to many sights, restaurants & bars. Spacious room with cozy sofa corner and stylish bathroom. Only disadvantage: the mattress is a bit hard for my taste.

We had such a wonderful stay! The hotel is perfectly located in the middle of the city, very close to the subway. You can easily acces every major attraction without the need to take a taxi or to switch the subway too much. Highly recommend. On top of everything we got such a nice room with an incredible view on 26th floor. We have to thank Oliver from the reception for giving us such a nice room.

Loved the stay here. Would recommend and would go back if I go to Shanghai again. Firstly, location. It is very near to the main shopping street, Minisoland is about 7mins walk away. It is very close to many main tourist attractions. Secondly, the breakfast is very good. They change their menu everyday. Breakfast has wide variety of food too. Even if you go late at like 9.30am or even close to 10am (their closing time), food is still fresh and a lot. Thirdly, service is really good. When we reached, it was after midnight already. The front desk staff offered to help bring our luggage up for us, into the room. He even carried the luggage and placed on the luggage rack for us leaving our room. Most staff are fluent in English too and would say ”Good morning” to us instead of 早安. On our last day of stay they even delivered coffee and cakes up to our room at night. Lastly, room cleanliness and the room. Our room was big and clean and wide. They clean our room everyday and change the bedsheets and towels too, even though we told them we didn't need to. It says Queen bed online but in fact they have a bigger bed -- King bed. The single bed was also bigger than expected.

Chose this hotel just to experience a stay inside historical building 😄 Hotel was built in 1930s and is certified as “Heritage architecture” of Shanghai. Very beautiful art-deco style building and matching room interiors. Rooms are exceptionally clean with all amenities available. I had a spacious room of about 30 sq.m with a comfortable king-size bed and shower (no bath tube). Location is exceptional - 5 minute walk to either The Bund or Nanjing Road with a lot of restaurants and shops around. The closest metro station is East Nanjing Road, which is at 7-10 minute walking distance. A view on Oriental Pearl Tower across the river is literally around the corner. However, staying at a historical building in the city center comes at a price 😅 The building is almost a century old and plumbing and ventilation definitely seen better days. Water pressure in the shower is rather weak and toilet flush isn’t good either. Mosquitoes or some other small flying insects might come from ventilation (though you can use a fumigator provided by hotel). The worst thing about my stay: on the day of my arrival and check-in there was some filming taking place in front of the hotel. They were shooting a commercial or a drama series scene right on the steps to the entrance so it was really difficult to navigate with luggage even with the help of hotel staff. There were a lot of people, both the crew and onlookers, and equipment and vehicles, so my taxi couldn’t get close to hotel and I had to drag my luggage through the crowd. On top of that it was my birthday and I was really anticipating a relaxing evening which didn’t happen due to all the commotion. I think hotel should have contacted me by email or via Trip com to inform about film shooting so I could adjust my time of arrival.

Though simple, the owner's thoughtful touches are evident. Unfortunately, the pool wasn't filled due to several days of heavy rain. The whole family, from grandparents to grandchildren, was incredibly welcoming. I arrived very late at Pudong Airport, but the grandson (who is also the owner) still came to pick me up – I was deeply touched! Breakfast, prepared by the grandmother, gave it a wonderful homely feel. It's truly ideal for small families visiting Disneyland with children or for young couples looking for a cozy stay.

The location is excellent, just a short walk to Yu Yuan, and the room itself was comfortable, though some areas of the hotel, especially the front of the hotel entrance, feel a bit dated. Check-in was the main downside. We arrived at 5:30 PM but were told all the rooms weren’t ready, and despite requesting same floor rooms in advance, it took quite awhile to arrange 1 room for us. Even after returning from dinner, 10PM the front desk service felt a bit overwhelmed and inattentive, not sure if this is because of summer school break. Overall, this hotel works for a short stay if you don’t mind some waiting at check-in. For families with kids or those expecting seamless service, it may not be the best fit but for travelers who prioritize location, it’s still worth considering.

PPandy016I communicated our pick up needs to hotel at regular intervals and keot them updated about our flight. Advised would be arriving a little early due to flight. Was told to call after landing - no answer. Tried messaging on we chat took a while for response. No clear directions. So arrived at exit after clearing customs and collecting bags. Then told to go back upstairs to gate 3 departures. Waited out there for a long time. Over half an hour. Many other hotels collected people with many others coming and going while we waited. One hotel had 3 vehicles with their name on it pick up patrons in the time we were standing there. I can now see why we were the only ones going to Novotel. Clearly the driver did not leave the hotel after long after we advised we had arrived. When he did turn up in a rundown silver van with no name on it. He drove like a mad man and dangerously. He think he was trying to make up for time. He was rather rude when he dropped us off, not a word from him. Check in experience was no better. Two girls on reception were talking **** about us - yes I had my translator on after explaining our check in details to them. Very poor service and actually unprofessional behaviour. Room service had finished so we weren't able to get anything to eat. Did not feel able nor did I want to speak with front desk again to ask for assistance in ordering some food. Only staff that was friendly or even acknowledged us was the lovely cleaning lady on our floor the following morning. Breakfast was okay. Laundry was a mess from another lady who pulled out all her washing dripping wet and made a huge puddle on the floor. If there had been a towel I would have cleaned up her mess! We wish we had gone straight to the hotel we had originally planned to but opted for the Novotel due to close proximity to airport for our late flight back into Shanghai. We would have been better off going straight to the original hotel over an hour away. I believe we still would have arrived earlier. We have stayed at Novotel Auckland Airport in New Zealand a few times and the service is impeccable. Unfortunately Novotel Shanghai Pudong Chuansha is not a good representation of the Novotel brand. Also considering this an airport hotel with many tourists likely utilizing it - very few things have English translation including the vending machine. The hotel building itself is nice and the only positive. Won't be back - step up your game. I usually do rave reviews and very rarely do negative unless warranted.

GGuest UserThe room was more spacious than I'd imagined, and the view from the window was quite nice, with Jing'an Temple visible in the distance. The walk-through area in the room was just wide enough to open a suitcase, leaving little extra space, but it was perfectly fine for a solo trip. Soundproofing in the room wasn't great; noises from outside the door were quite clear (though this is a common drawback of hostels). This might be an issue for light sleepers. Transportation is incredibly convenient, as it's only about a three-minute walk from the subway station, which really helps save on travel expenses. **Cleanliness:** The shared bathrooms were exceptionally clean; an attendant would clean them immediately after each use, which was very reassuring. **Service:** Upon arrival, a staff member showed me to my room and introduced the facilities. The lobby offered quite a few amenities; I recall there was an ice machine, and I even borrowed an umbrella from the front desk when it rained during my stay. Overall, I was very satisfied and would happily choose to stay here again on my next visit to Shanghai.

XXavier XiaoHaving stayed at numerous Ritz-Carlton properties across China, the Ritz-Carlton Pudong is the only one I've felt compelled to return to so swiftly after my initial stay. Our second visit was particularly special, as we brought along our most cherished family members to celebrate my mother's 60th milestone birthday there. It was truly the exceptionally positive first experience that immediately convinced my wife and me to entrust this significant life event for my mother to the Ritz-Carlton Pudong. This subsequent visit, true to form, did not disappoint. Before check-in, we contacted the hotel's Guest Relations department to explain our occasion and made a few modest requests regarding the birthday arrangements. The hotel staff were incredibly patient and meticulously arranged everything for us. A special commendation goes to Jerry and Jeremy from the hotel. On our arrival day, they had thoughtfully prepared a beautiful birthday bouquet to present to my mother. My mother was utterly moved by the hotel's genuine warmth and attention, almost to tears. A delicate mini birthday cake and a heartfelt handwritten card were also thoughtfully placed in our room. My mother exclaimed how truly thoughtful and caring it all was. ❤️ I truly believe an outstanding hotel is defined not merely by its prime location, opulent environment, or the sophistication of its room amenities. It is, more profoundly, about the dedicated and professional staff, exemplified by Jerry and Jeremy. They serve every guest with heartfelt sincerity, addressing even the smallest request with utmost professionalism and responsibility, ensuring every resident's needs are met. This genuine commitment profoundly touches guests, fostering a true sense of belonging – a feeling of being genuinely at home, truly valued, and deeply cared for. With such an exceptional and professional service team, we will undoubtedly and consistently choose the Ritz-Carlton Pudong for our future stays. Genuine sincerity always leaves a lasting impression!

2203906****The location is fantastic! You can walk directly from the second-floor lounge to the riverside, and it's just a two-minute stroll to the ferry terminal. From there, you can catch a 2 RMB ferry to the other side of the river. Housekeeping was very attentive; for example, they replaced our child's bath towels after their afternoon soak while we were out for dinner. The only slight drawback was that you need to turn off the water supply to the bathtub before going to sleep, otherwise, the motor emits a low humming noise. Also, some floorboards seemed a bit warped, possibly from water exposure. Otherwise, everything else was quite good. We had originally planned to stay two nights at the tallest hotel across the river, but our child wasn't keen on it. This was mainly because we encountered a typhoon, and that particular building was often enveloped in clouds, completely obscuring the night view. So, we decided to extend our stay here for an additional two days. The rooftop Southeast Asian restaurant offers absolutely stunning views; however, the food itself isn't particularly good, so I'd highly recommend just going for drinks to enjoy the panorama.

GGuest UserThe house is being renovated, so for the weekend, I decided to stay overnight as a local resident of Shanghai. During the two years of the pandemic, I also took my child to many iconic local hotels to experience them. After considering factors such as comfort, location, cost-effectiveness, dining, service, opening hours, and overall quality, I would highly recommend this hotel to friends planning a trip to Shanghai. The staff are very attentive and responsive to any needs. The location is excellent, situated in North Bund, Hongkou District, which is not too noisy and offers easy access to various amenities. For those visiting Shanghai, there is a stand-up comedy show nearby that is definitely worth checking out. The dining options are plentiful, and you can easily reach Siji Minfu within walking distance. The North Bund City Terrace and the Waibaidu Bridge are also within walking distance. Last night, I took a stroll around the area and stood at the North Bund City Terrace. Seeing Shanghai and Pudong's Oriental Pearl Tower from this vantage point was truly breathtaking.

MMannaozidoushilvyoulvyouThe hotel's location is fantastic, and both the environment and cleanliness were excellent. I had initially booked a room with only a partial river view. However, the staff were truly wonderful – incredibly helpful and attentive, always quick to respond to any queries. They even kindly upgraded my room to a panoramic one, allowing us to enjoy the breathtaking night view of the Bund right from our room, without even stepping out. My little one was absolutely thrilled! I definitely hope to stay here again on our next visit.

GGuest User I was referred to stay at the Andaz Hotel by a friend who has lived in Shanghai for a long time. There are two points that are particularly commendable: first, the pool has a female lifeguard who is very responsible and attentive, remaining focused and diligent while on duty. Second, the hotel breakfast is quite generous, and the staff provided thoughtful service. In addition, I would like to share some other feedback. I booked interconnected rooms for four nights, hoping that our family of three would have a comfortable and pleasant stay. The room was very spacious—even beyond expectations with the inclusion of an exercise bike. However, the main bedroom TV consistently failed to connect to iQiyi and Youku, which was very disappointing and the biggest letdown of this experience. On the first night, maintenance staff found that there wasn’t even a set-top box installed, making it impossible to watch the series we were following. Although it was reconnected on the second night, during playback the TV screen would go black every few seconds. This issue persisted throughout the remaining three nights. From the second to the fifth day, another maintenance technician inspected the system. On the third day, he claimed to have spent two hours in my room and found no abnormalities (that day, I left the room for breakfast at 9:15 AM and returned at 10:35 AM, running into him in the elevator). He informed me that the TV network was functioning properly, yet the issue remained—there was sound, but the screen went blank every few seconds. We spent a significant amount of time in the hotel over the past five days due to a family member not feeling well, so we stayed in the room most of the day and only went out in the evening. Therefore, lying in the main bedroom watching anime was supposed to be one of our most enjoyable family moments. This TV issue significantly diminished our overall experience. Even though on the day of checkout, a female staff member politely offered three chocolates to my son, it could not make up for our disappointment and regret. Another major issue was that there were no towels provided in the pool changing room. I had to collect them from the front desk before entering. On one occasion, after showering, my towel fell onto the wet floor, and I had no way to get a clean replacement. Although the room was spacious and the breakfast was excellent, given the room rate of over RMB 4,000 per night, I believe there are better options in Shanghai than the Andaz. For future trips to Shanghai to visit relatives or sightseeing, it is highly unlikely I will choose to stay at this hotel again.
