Hotel near Dongjiekou Shopping Center,Fuzhou
The Shuxiang Wenru Hotel is located at No. 50 Wenru Lane, the heart of Fuzhou's Three Lanes and Seven Alleys, occupying a prime and unparalleled location within the scenic area. Nestled amidst a cluster of well-preserved Ming and Qing dynasty ancient houses, the hotel opens directly onto cobblestone lanes, with Nanhou Street, former residences of notable figures, and unique cultural and creative shops just a short walk away, offering exceptional convenience for sightseeing, shopping, and photo opportunities. Sheltered from the bustle of the streets, the hotel's serene courtyard provides a tranquil retreat—guests can step out to enjoy the lively local atmosphere and return to the peaceful embrace of the courtyard, making it the ideal choice for an immersive stay in Three Lanes and Seven Alleys. 。 Originally the mansion of Chen Maohou, a Qing Dynasty imperial scholar, the hotel carries over 200 years of cultural heritage. The entire compound retains the original layout of Min-style ancient architecture, complete with saddle-shaped walls, carved wooden beams, courtyard water features, and winding corridors with floral halls. Every brick and tile reflects the scholarly legacy of the Luo-Chen family. The hotel embraces an elegant neo-Chinese design, with Fujian’s intangible cultural heritage—exquisite bodiless lacquerware—as the central aesthetic theme, seamlessly blending traditional Chinese elements throughout the space. Handcrafted lacquer decorations, classical calligraphy and paintings, and intricately carved wooden window frames adorn the guest rooms and public areas, exuding warmth and refinement. Free from excessive ornamentation, the design recreates the understated elegance of ancient literati residences, with every corner embodying Eastern aesthetics—each snapshot captures the essence of Chinese cultural ambiance. The hotel offers a diverse range of room types to suit various travelers, including scenic deluxe rooms, courtyard golden hot spring suites, family suites, and standalone courtyard villas. Each room honors the historical architecture’s integrity, preserving the beauty of original wooden structures while incorporating modern comforts, striking a perfect balance between classical charm and contemporary convenience. The standalone courtyard hot spring rooms are a standout feature, allowing guests to indulge in private hot springs without leaving their quarters, offering a complete Fuzhou cultural retreat within a traditional Chinese courtyard. Dining is a highlight of the hotel, featuring a Michelin one-star Fujian cuisine restaurant dedicated to authentic Fuzhou flavors. Using locally sourced fresh ingredients, the restaurant’s star chefs craft distinctive Fujian delicacies, enabling guests to savor Michelin-level dishes without stepping outside the ancient compound—a one-stop immersion into Fuzhou’s culinary culture. Beyond dining, the hotel offers diverse cultural experiences, including Hanfu rentals for children and adults, and treasure-hunt activities for families, catering to couples, family trips, and cultural or business travelers. Staying here allows guests to delve into the millennia-old history of Three Lanes and Seven Alleys, appreciate the artistry of bodiless lacquerware, experience genuine Chinese courtyard living, and relish Michelin-starred cuisine—unlocking a seamless blend of dining, accommodation, and exploration in Fuzhou’s cultural heartland.

"Staying with my child in the Shuxiang Wenru parent-child room exceeded all expectations! The location is tucked away inside the ancient houses of Wenrufang in Sanfang Qixiang, offering a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle. The traditional Chinese courtyard vibe is fantastic, and it's super convenient for exploring the alleys and lanes. The cleanliness deserves a special shout-out! The room was meticulously cleaned; no water stains or odors in the corners or bathroom. The bedding was clean and soft, and impressively, for an old architectural style, there was no musty smell. It gave me great peace of mind traveling with a child. The ambiance is typical of a new Chinese style within a traditional Minnan ancient house. The courtyard is elegant and serene, with wooden windows and lacquered art摆件 (decorations) that give it a scholarly feel. It’s quiet and not noisy, ensuring an undisturbed night's rest. The parent-child facilities are very thoughtful. They provided special toiletries for children, and the room was spacious with comfortable beds, catering to all the needs of families traveling with kids. The courtyard also offers Hanfu experiences and parent-child treasure hunts, which my child absolutely loved. The service was warm and attentive. The staff responded promptly, patiently addressing all our requests and communicating kindly and helpfully. Breakfast was a delightful surprise! There was a rich variety, catering to both adults and children, including many local Fuzhou snacks. The ingredients were fresh and light, perfect for children. Dining in the ancient courtyard setting truly amplified the experience. This is an excellent choice for a short family trip to Fuzhou. Next time we visit Sanfang Qixiang with our child, we'll definitely choose this place again!"

"I actually booked Niaodao Seaview Chaosu by accident, as my wife has had bad experiences with many seemingly beautiful guesthouses from photos. However, after staying in a suite at Niaodao for three nights, my wife was satisfied, and with her happy, I was naturally at ease 😄. To be fair, the service attitude was top-notch, and the hygiene was excellent. We had unlimited complimentary mineral water daily. The lobby (on the 7th floor) has a dedicated smoking room with good ventilation. Gulangyu Island is right across from us, offering a fantastic first-person view from the window. It was especially charming and unique during the stormy weather we experienced 🤫. If guests are returning from Gulangyu Island after 6 PM, they can take the Xiamen Ferry, which is directly opposite the hotel, just through an underpass. (Note: In the morning, ferries to Gulangyu only depart from Dongdu). Right outside Niaodao's entrance is the start of Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street. You absolutely cannot say the location isn't good, can you? The 24th floor of this building houses the tallest Pizza Hut in China 😄. On the first floor, there's a 24-hour supermarket. To the left of the hotel entrance, there's a Commue Western restaurant and bar. If you don't feel like wandering around at night, you can just grab a cocktail here. There's also a Starbucks, and across the street is Heping Wharf, where you can take various Lujiang River cruises and night tours. There's also a travel agency on the first floor where you can inquire about tours to nearby attractions like the Tulou. The double-decker tourist bus stop is also right outside. A taxi to Dongdu Wharf takes 15 minutes. A taxi to the cable car takes 15 minutes. A taxi to the airport takes 30 minutes. Didn't run into Huang Bo, nor the beautiful proprietress. They are cousins."

Founded in 1958, Lujiang Hotel is an iconic architectural landmark in Xiamen and one of the first three hotels in Xiamen established after the reform and opening-up. It has now been upgraded to a heritage-level experiential hotel that preserves the city’s culture and historical character. In 2025, the hotel completed its sixth renovation in strict accordance with cultural relic restoration standards. It carefully retained the vintage texture of the original floral tiles, complemented by elegant new patterns, creating a stunning fusion of old and new.As a prestigious historic hotel on Lu Island, it has hosted numerous Chinese and foreign dignitaries, business leaders and celebrities, including the former Queen of Denmark, Lee Kuan Yew, Anna Chan Chennault, and Angie Chiu, all of whom spoke highly of their experience. The renowned artist Mr. Liu Haisu personally inscribed the hotel with the words “A Home Away from Home”, a testament to its excellent reputation and profound heritage. As a landmark on the core section of Lujiang Road, the hotel encapsulates a century of elegance on both banks of the Lujiang River, blending Chinese and Western styles and harmonizing tradition with modernity. Every stay is more than accommodation; it is a journey through time. The hotel’s “Time Tunnel 1958” is a highlight. Within this compact space, the city’s memories are condensed. Stepping in, one can feel the heartbeat of Xiamen and touch stories that span decades.Guest rooms frame a panoramic view of Gulangyu Island. At dawn, the island’s scenery greets you the moment you open your eyes. Even from the bathroom, you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the blue sea and red-tiled roofs, integrating the seascape into every moment of your stay. The hotel also holds the classic reputation of “Dining at Lujiang”. Its 7th-floor viewing restaurant is a beloved choice for both locals and tourists, combining stunning sea views with exquisite cuisine, and consistently ranks highly on major review platforms. From carefully selected ingredients to refined cooking techniques, the hotel crafts flavors with meticulous attention to detail. Beyond satisfying hunger, it lets your taste buds discover the authentic tastes of Lujiang, shaped by time and refined across mountains and seas.

"I originally planned to book a traditional five-star hotel, but seeing that Lujiang Hotel was close to Zhongshan Road and had local character, I decided to give it a try. It exceeded my expectations and changed my perception of 'old' hotels. Lujiang Hotel blends modernity and tradition beautifully. The service was excellent. Every staff member greeted me, proactively opened and held doors when entering and exiting, helped with luggage, and opened car doors, among other things. Every evening, they delivered a healthy soup to my room. When I got blisters, they promptly brought iodine and bandages. The welcome fruit, mini-bar, and complimentary daily afternoon tea were all delightful. The location is superb. Due to the hot weather, I spontaneously changed my itinerary to focus on relaxing at the hotel and exploring local cuisine. Zhongshan Road, with its abundance of delicious food, is right next door – I definitely gained some weight! The view is stunning, with Gulangyu Island directly across. Lying in bed and enjoying the beautiful scenery, I truly wished time would slow down. The facilities are great; toiletries, hairdryers, etc., are all top-tier brands. Next time I visit Xiamen, I will definitely stay here again."

Hotel near The Old Town of Zhangzhou,Zhangzhou
"I specifically brought my elderly parents to Zhangzhou Ancient City for a visit this time. Since they have mobility issues and need a wheelchair, I was worried about the inconvenience of travel and accommodation beforehand. I had been communicating with the hotel about various matters before our departure. To my surprise, our entire stay was exceptionally comfortable, and I genuinely give it a full five-star rating! The hotel's location is excellent, situated right in the heart of the ancient city. As soon as you step out, you're on the old streets and alleys, with all sorts of Minnan specialty foods and popular photo spots close by. It was incredibly convenient to explore with a wheelchair. While it was lively and bustling outside, the courtyard was serene and quiet. It's an authentic Minnan ancient house courtyard style, with an elegant and clean environment. The greenery was meticulously maintained, making for a beautiful and healing landscape. What touched me the most was the hotel's thoughtful consideration for guests with mobility challenges. The accessibility features were very well-implemented. The courtyard pathways were flat and smooth, with no steep inclines, making it effortless to push a wheelchair in and out. The corridors were wide and open, allowing for easy and stable passage. When the front desk staff saw us with our elderly parents in a wheelchair, they immediately came over to offer assistance. They were enthusiastic and meticulous throughout, with a warm and polite attitude. During check-in, they prioritized a low-floor room on the first floor for us, avoiding stairs and complex routes, which greatly facilitated the seniors' movement. The room was spacious and airy, spotlessly clean, with soft and clean bedding. The mattress was neither too soft nor too firm, making it exceptionally comfortable for my parents to rest. My family all said they slept very well. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and the floor was anti-slip, with every detail considering the safety of the elderly. The hotel's service was so meticulous it was heartwarming. Knowing my parents had difficulty walking, the staff proactively slowed down their speech, patiently asked about their physical condition, and repeatedly reminded them to be careful on the stone paths in the courtyard. Throughout our stay, any request we had was met with immediate and quick responses. They were very enthusiastic about helping deliver items and assisting my parents. When we returned from outings, they would always proactively offer warm tea, asking if my parents were tired from their journey. Their sincerity and genuineness were truly commendable. After a tiring day of sightseeing, the hotel's natural hot spring, with its comfortable and gentle water temperature, was a great relief. Soaking our feet after returning helped us relax significantly. The breakfast selection was rich yet light, catering to my parents' dietary preferences. The ingredients were fresh and healthy. When the staff heard we had high blood sugar, they specially prepared low-sugar meals for us. From the service details, their warmth was evident in every aspect. I initially thought traveling with elderly parents in a wheelchair would be problematic, but thanks to the comprehensive facilities and warm service at Xiyue Hotel, our entire experience was beautiful, clean, with human-centered facilities and warm, attentive service. Every aspect was impeccable, and it offered excellent value for money."

"I stayed here for 3 nights with my parents, and it was a wonderful, friendly, and thoughtful experience. We arrived late, but Leo at the front desk (shout-out) gave us a warm welcome and was extremely helpful. He thoughtfully arranged adjoining rooms for us. While the hotel may not be brand new, the facilities are great value for money, and the rooms are spotless. More importantly, the warm service from the staff really sets this place apart. Another shout-out to the housekeeping lady—she noticed I drink a lot of water (at least 6 bottles a day!) and left extra bottles for me when cleaning the room. That small gesture meant so much! The breakfast buffet offered a huge variety of options, and the dining area was spacious. The location is also fantastic—just a few minutes' walk from the metro, making it super easy to call a cab and visit all the main sights. From the porter to the front desk, housekeeping, and restaurant team, everyone was fantastic. It was an amazing stay overall!"

"Let me give a thorough review! Excellent service: Xiaomi contacted me a day in advance, added me on WeChat, asked about my needs, and even upgraded my room for free. This kind of service isn't even guaranteed at big-brand hotels like Intercontinental these days. Upon arrival, the service was proactive; a young staff member offered to help with our luggage, and the front desk staff were very polite, offering afternoon tea vouchers and welcome fruit. Food delivery was handled by a robot, which was very fast. Great amenities: The bed was incredibly comfortable; I actually slept two full, restful nights, better than at home. You can swap pillows for free, and the memory foam pillow I got was very comfortable. The mini-fridge had complimentary Coke, Sprite, and chips. The two 1.35m double beds were enough for our family of two adults and two children. The toilet was smart, and the hairdryer was good too. Both the hallways and rooms were very clean. Oh, and the hotel is right above a subway station, only 5 stops from Gu Mountain! Overall, everything was fantastic! I'd definitely consider staying here again or recommending it to friends on my next visit!"

"Just left the store and wrote this review on the road. , Traveling with a baby, this homestay really added a lot of color and fun to this trip. The room facilities are well-equipped and novel, smart home. Good sanitary conditions. Moreover, free coffee, free ice cream for children, although it is a small thing, but the heart of the store is understanding. The store's service attitude is really good, very polite and enthusiastic. There is a washing machine for convenience. , The most important thing is the location, a great location to see the sea directly. , Very happy these two days. Nanping Colorful Village Homestay

9.4/10

This place makes me wish there was an option for six stars. I study Asian art for a living, and I travelled to Jianyang to visit the home of Jian ware, classic tea bowls of the Song dynasty (960 to 1279 CE), distinguished by their black and brown glazes. Over the last few decades, firing Jian ware in the Song tradition has been revived in the area. I chose Nanping Colourful Village Homestay because it was in Jianyang, affordable, and accepted international guests. What I found was a luxury resort with all the warmth and personal attention of a homestay. I asked the front desk about an excavated Song kiln site in a nearby village, and the receptionist brought me the manager, who arranged for someone to take me the next day. My driver was Ms. Huang, an employee of the resort whose job involves buying and selling contemporary pieces. She knew everything about Jian ware! The kiln site isn’t run as a tourist site, so I was only able to view it because Ms. Huang arranged for it to be opened for me. I had told them I was vegetarian, so for lunch they took me to lunch at a vegetarian buffet. Then we visited the town’s Jian ware museum, where they have exhibits on the history of tea and Jian ware, historical pieces, and the work of contemporary Jianyang potters. To my delight, Mr. Gao, the potter-in-residence at the resort, uses a Song-style wood-fired dragon kiln, built right on the grounds! His pieces that range from beautiful but quite affordable to exquisite and appropriately expensive. They include both iridescent silvery oil spot and orange-to-black hare’s fur pieces. I am still thrilled that I was able to purchase wood-fired pieces on my limited budget. For dinner, the resort’s restaurant prepared vegetarian versions of Fujian cuisine for me. The food was all delicious, featuring classic Fujianese mountain ingredients like local bamboo and mushrooms. Then we visited Mr. Gao’s dragon kiln, and later his studio, where he experiments with different local clays and glaze recipes. The rich colours and iridescence of Jian ware are the result of the iron-rich local material fired at high temperature, and the results are as unpredictable as they are beautiful. The next day, they drove me to Mr. Chen’s family tea plantation in the mountains, where they grow famous northern Fujian teas. These fine teas were all wonderful, smooth and rich with a touch of smoke, and sometimes fruity in flavour. We strolled through mountainsides of tea bushes and visited groves of centuries-old tea trees. This is a perfect place for an immersive experience in China that is also very comfortable and convenient. I often find tourist experiences in China claustrophobic due to the press of people, but the resort was spacious and airy, and they took me to places where there was no one else but us and the occasional local going about their business. Everyone was very patient with my limited Chinese language skills. They were also happy to work with translator apps on our phones, so if you don’t speak any Chinese, you will be fine. This would be a great place to come as a family. There are gardens and rides for kids right next to the resort. You can learn how to whip Song-style tea and carve your name into the base of your own Jian ware cup. Not far away is a historical theme park with a collection of real architecture from the Ming (1368 to 1644 CE) and Qing (1636 to 1912 CE) dynasties. The employees wear period dress and there are performances and activities. Nearby there are hiking trails, historical sites, and lovely villages to visit. It’s also very close to Wuyi Mountain National Park, so it would be a perfect place to stay if the mountains are your destination. If you ask, they could arrange for you to visit famous sites or take you to breathtaking places that only locals know, whatever you want. They can also arrange transport to and from the train station or airport.

Stayed for 3 nights, and the service was genuinely excellent. Not only did they offer a breakfast discount, but they also readily helped me switch rooms when I wasn't happy with one that had a pillar in it, which I really appreciated. However, the room itself was a bit dated, and I felt a little empty staying there every day. The most awkward part was the occasional foul odor from the bathroom drain. Despite that, the staff were truly attentive. I just hope they can improve the cleanliness details a bit more.

Our little one wanted to see 'A Yuan's Home,' so we brought the picture book and came to stay. This guesthouse is located within the Tianluokeng Tulou Scenic Area in Nanjing. It's easy to find if you're driving, and personally, I found it even better than the Yunshuiyao Scenic Area – fewer crowds and stunning scenery. It's also very close to Taxia Village, which you can reach by cycling or walking. There, you can visit the 700-year-old Yuchang Lou, famously standing 'crooked but firm,' and grab a meal at the Xiaogqiao Liushui Restaurant. Just a heads-up if you're driving, be mindful of parking restrictions. Getting to Tianluokeng's iconic 'Four Dishes and One Soup' cluster is also super convenient, just a ten-minute drive. The Tulou are truly magnificent! The guesthouse hostess is incredibly nice, and they have a lovely Golden Retriever named Xiao Chai, who is very friendly and well-behaved. We booked a duplex room with a living area downstairs and the sleeping area upstairs. It even came with a projector, which was a huge bonus! But the real highlight was the in-room washer-dryer combo – such a thoughtful and convenient amenity!

The hotel environment is impeccable, with spacious public areas and beautiful birdsong and flowers. Perched on a hill, I was woken up every morning around 5 or 6 by the chirping of various birds. It's about a 15-minute walk to Xiamen University and Putuo Temple, though it's uphill and a bit tiring, but taxis are quite convenient. The room was also very large, with a bedroom offering a distant view of the rooftops of Xiamen University. All in-room facilities were well-equipped. While I wouldn't delve too deeply into the cleanliness details, it was acceptable, but the sound of water running from the rooms above or next door was particularly noisy. The service was excellent, with prompt responses to all requests! Overall, I was satisfied, with one exception: the breakfast was too basic. It felt like it cost less than five yuan to make, truly the most perfunctory breakfast I've ever had in decades of staying at hotels. We ended up ordering takeout for the kids for both days, so I don't think it's worth booking a rate that includes breakfast. I'd like to offer a suggestion to the hotel: with such a great location and environment, it should strive for perfection by putting more thought into improving the breakfast. For tourists, a hearty breakfast is truly important. If a buffet isn't feasible due to cost-cutting, at least the set menu could be more varied, instead of just offering a bowl of congee and one or two pre-made buns every day, which is quite unappetizing.

The location is fantastic, right in Zhangzhou Ancient City, with tons of snack shops nearby, making getting around super convenient. The room was clean and tidy, with good natural light and ventilation. The bedding was soft, ensuring a very peaceful sleep. The bathroom had plenty of hot water and no strange smells. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, and the check-in and check-out process was efficient. Any requests were handled quickly. The facilities were complete, and it was quiet without being noisy. It offers great value for money, and I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Zhangzhou. Highly recommend for couples on a short trip.

To the Management and Team, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional hospitality I experienced during my stay at your hotel. From January 9th to 10th, I was warmly accommodated in Room 315 of the Lingbo Building, and I was truly impressed by the outstanding service provided by your staff. In particular, I wish to commend your front desk team for their professionalism, kindness, and efficiency. Their attentive and courteous approach made me feel genuinely welcomed and well cared for throughout my stay. I would also like to give special thanks to Mr. Zheng Ziheng from your Marketing Department. His genuine warmth, thoughtful assistance, and attentive hospitality went above and beyond my expectations. In him, I see the future of tourism in China—a future built on passionate, dedicated, and truly guest-centered professionals who not only meet but exceed the expectations of those they serve.
