Very well Inconvenient there is no parking except paying or places to be able to park around the hotel
All Suites Appart Hôtel Dunkerque

The hotel is close to the city, a few minutes walk to the bustling area, its own parking lot is 5 euros per night, use the room card to enter the parking lot, and you don't need to swipe your card to go out. There is an induction cooker and kitchenware in the room, and dishcloths are also provided, but there is no dishwashing liquid. Another device similar to a microwave oven is not available. Friendly service, breakfast is ok, similar to English style, price 10 euros. The city tax is 1.32 euros per person. The heating is sufficient, the bathroom has a separate heating device, and there is plenty of hot water. CGTN can be seen on TV.

Vauban-Esquermes
This hotel was a little off the beaten path, there wasn't really a bus line or metro stop close by. We felt like we walked so far to get to the ”sights”, even though we walked just as far in the other cities we visited on this vacation. That being said, there were lots of fun parks and areas to walk around in. The main square had lots going on. Our room was tucked away from the street, so we didn't have a lot of noise. There was no a/c, but the window had a rolling shutter that we closed during the day to keep out the heat. It was still very hot, especially to sleep. I guess I'm just that american that is used to the a/c! We made do, it wasn't a problem. The kitchen was well set up and had everything. The bathroom was large enough. The wifi worked well. There was a big wardrobe for clothes, the bed, a desk, and table with 2 chairs. We could have used a couple of tables by the bed though. The hotel front door used a key fob to open, so it seemed secure. All the staff was very friendly. The hotel was comfortable enough, but next time I will stay somewhere a little more central to where I want to be.

LOCATION: Ideal. I arrived by train and it was about 5 minutes walk down the same street, nice and flat for the wheelie case. Lots of local sights within easy walking distance including the cathedral (France's largest, twice as big as Notre Dame in Paris), Jules Verne Museum and the incredible Musée de Picardie. APARTMENT: When I entered, I was blown away by the superb views over Amiens including the the cathedral spires from both the sitting room and bedroom windows. The apartment was spacious, clean, quiet and had everything needed. STAFF: Amiable and helpful VALUE: Outstandingly good.
CALM Appart' & Hostel

Stayed for a couple of nights in Calm Appart Hotel to be able to quickly move around to places by foot. The hotel is conveniently located close to the train station and a big shopping mall as well as many restaurants. Despite the occasional noise in the streets, it was very easy to ignore it by just closing the windows—isolation seemed to be on point. Another convenience was the parking space in a secured, covered building next to the hotel. The room was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Only point for improvement would be to have (third) beds that are not on wheels, because it was not very difficult to move the bed despite the wheels' brakes. Our stay was nonetheless a very good experience.

Everything absolutely fine for the price paid. I especially appreciate that the desk is manned by a human being all 24 hours - no fiddling with outside machines to get a key card. And free easy-to-access wifi. Only downside is that there is never a plug for the little washbasin. I take my own!

It is a one-bedroom apartment (STUDIO), the couple have two children (six years old, three years old), the front desk refuses to check in, saying that the hotel regulations do not allow children to stay. I told each other: Before you make a reservation, carefully read your hotel policy, clearly saying that the children are welcome to stay, what is going on. The other party is very impatient. ”With a child, safety is a problem, in case of a fire.” After that, it is necessary to ask the manager and let us wait. Twenty minutes later, a person who claimed to be the person in charge came out and said that he can now stay. The attitude is very good, but there is no explanation or apology. The above is an objective description of the facts, for those who take the child to travel. Let's talk about the hotel again, the location is good, next to the train station and the large shopping mall, about ten minutes walk from the Charles de Gaulle Square, it is very convenient to eat around. However, the traffic around the people is very large, the personnel are very mixed, and it is necessary to pay special attention to safety. There are advantages and disadvantages for taking children to travel. Hotel health is not up to standard, cleaning is not clean, it is hard to imagine European standards. Hotel hardware facilities are also general. To the hotel ***agement who might have the chance to browse this comment, please double check your hotel policies on children before making it public. Simply saying we refuse you to check in because you have two kids with you seems very rude and inhu***e. Your staff cited the reason of SECURITY to refuse the check-in of children is very ridiculous, however, this is not the point. The point is that you should publicize it in advance, instead of annoucing ”all children are welcome”but when children come, you start to say ” no, you are not welcome”.

A very nice, quiet hotel with friendly staff. Bedrooms well away from road so no traffic noise; excellent beds and very quiet air conditioning. A wide selection of food for breakfast and coffee machine available all day. Good communal areas both inside and out including pool table, games, electric piano etc. A somewhat ambivalent attitude to smoking in the central courtyard (no smoking signs next to the ashtrays!). We stayed during the annual braderie when Lille turns into a giant second hand market for the weekend and cars are excluded. This doubled the cost of accommodation. The event was very well managed, a massive (may be >100,000 participants?) good natured street party for families, with an impressively efficient clear up operation on the Sunday, night moving mountains of rubbish and mussel shells overnight. The hotel is in walking distance of the main attractions, being on the edge of old Lille. The Palais des Beaux-Arts and Mussee de l'Hospice de Comtesse are unmissable and the park around the citadel a beautiful place to walk. Lots of great buildings and monuments to gaze at and many good bars and restaurants, all near to hotel.

We received 2 emails about our stay on the day of our stay. One was to tell us that check in after 7pm required special instructions. That email we received at 7:31pm and since we were driving at the time we didn't see it before arriving. My heartfelt thanks to the very nice lady who very patiently helped us. I wish I had known about the check in procedure 24 hrs earlier. Both emails should have been sent 24 hrs earlier. Also parking is not easy until you know how it works. There is parking on the street but good luck with that. For us the closest was 1/2 mile away. We planned to use their on site parking but it is not signed so there is no way of seeing it when you arrive, and there is nowhere to even stop outside the hotel. It made our check in rather fraught after a long day's drive. I would happily stay there again as the rooms are good as is the breakfast and it's an excellent location, but I'd recommend not using Odaly's website to make the booking if possible as it doesn't allow you to review your booking after it has been made.
