I have spent 18 days working from JOYN Zurich so think this should be a fairly accurate review of my experience. For context, JOYN is new so may still be working through teething issues, but hopefully this is useful feedback. Pros; - Comfortable, well equipped rooms. I was in one of the largest apartments they offer and it is a good space to spend a lot of time - The kitchenette whilst small is workable and has most of what you'd need - Well located close to the airport and about 25 mins by tram to central Zurich - Nice bathroom and good shower pressure - Gym is good with nice new equipment - Very close to great supermarkets (Coop and Migros next door) - The communal spaces are lovely, including the central courtyard and roof gardens - Strong water pressure from the shower (although the drain didn't seem to be able to cope with the volume of water which meant potential overflowing of the shower unless carefully managed) - The room has a small dishwasher. There were two dishwasher tablets provided and these weren't topped up by the cleaners, meaning you'll need to buy more Unfortunately the cons are pretty significant though, particularly if you want to work from here; Cons - The wifi is atrocious. At best the speeds hover around 1mbps which isn't good enough for stable whatsapp or facetime calls, let alone Teams or Zoom work calls. I thought this may have been my room but is pretty much my experience in all the open spaces including the ground floor communal spaces (see screenshot from Speedtest). This makes it unsuitable for any work. - The cleaning services are a bare minimum. After one week they changed my linen and towels but didn't vacuum, sweep the floor, empty bins or clean the bathroom. After another 7 days they'd hadn't come to clean again and when prompted they said it would be cleaned that day (but it wasn't). On the 8th day I asked and again they promised to have it cleaned. Whilst I wouldn't mind cleaning myself, there is no vacuum cleaner, cleaning cloths or anything else in the room to clean with, so unless you want to buy your own, be prepared for it to get pretty dusty and the bathroom to get dirty. Cleaning also didn't include replacing the kitchen towels so you'll have to wash these yourself if you're staying for an extended period. - Other than the supermarkets nearby there is pretty much nothing else around Perhaps they're not used to guests having longer stays, but with cleaning services like this, it will become pretty horrible unless guests buy the cleaning products and do it themselves.

The biggest problem is accessing this studio. The owners always claim, but never send the password for access in advance to the guests. So we ended up stuck with our suitcases in the dark and it was pouring with rain having to call a phone number displayed on the premises door. This was answered eventually and our access was granted. We had to repeat this process to gain access to the inclusive internet and on our checkout to find out where to leave and secure the key. Location is good as its convenient for the tram station which is for No.8 and No.3 trams. These take you to Belleview or Central respectively. The location is peaceful and there is a wonderful Vietnamese restaurant directly opposite the main tram terminus (100meters walk). The room itself has almost everything needed for your stay, but lacks a washing machine/dryer for clothes. It has a large radiator that quickly warms the room and electronic venetian blinds. Kettle, fridge, small cooker and microwave, shower and TV are provided but none of the channels were English speaking (even English movies were re-dubbed into German).

Possibly the only worst hotel in the Accor chain. They advertise their rooms to be air conditioned but they are not. They have an aircon panel in their room and a vent but they don’t work, most likely switched off centrally. When you ask they give you the run around: “it works” “city banned air conditioning in hotels” “change a room” but nope. It simply doesn’t work. Now, this weren’t a massive issue in autumn, spring etc but in a summer heatwave (33C) when a room is 25-26C then asking it be conditioned to an eco friendly 22C should not be an issue in a hotel that rates itself 4*. But it is. That’s the issue. This is a 3*property charging 4*prices. Apartments are also small -slightly bigger than their rooms in Ibis. But this is Zurich. I reckon Accor should reclass this as 3* slight lower the price to reduce the complaints. This hotel is after all the same as the ibis (it is the same building) the only difference is “apartment” having a desk and a kitchenette

This “apartment” was terrible. We were with friends there. On various floors, but the quality of the rooms was equally bad. The windows could not be opened. So it was very warm, what is not going on for people with asthma at all. Despite the ventilator that was on all day, it was estimated 26 degrees Celsius in the room. Due to the Indian Imbiss' you constantly smell Indian food. You can't be well lying on the double beds. What's worse is on the sleep a drawable sofa. On the walls is found partly make-up and also inexplicable prints. In the bathroom there was a lack of soap and cleanness of washing basins, toilet, Badroom and shower. The floor in the bathroom and the rest of the apartment was sticked. On the day of departure, you could stand badly (only to third) in the driving chair with 1 bag because bed linen and waste bags were in. No one should recommend!

Also here the check-in with the key box behind the house perfectly flapped. The room was rather small but conveniently furnished with balcony. And also clean. The location of the house is good, quickly accessible. I would stay here at any time again

Numa | Turi was a perfect stay for me - the apartment was very clean, and the facilities in room are new and well kept. Amenities in the apartment are great - the free luggage storage was a gamechanger as it allowed me to explore Zurich without having to drag my bag around. Location is great - bus to Zurich HB is frequent (takes about 5 min and comes every ~5 min), with that, it is also very much possible to walk to Zurich HB. There are some things to note: - the area has a lively night life, so may get quite noisy - washing machine & dryer are available in building but not free however, can be paid online. They are CHF 5 & CHF 4 accordingly

A very nice hotel in a great location. Staff was helpful and went out of their way to be accommodating. Located in a quiet area of town within walking distance to a lot of restaurants, shops and across the street from one of the train stations and tram stops. Overall a great hotel.

Kloten
This is totally unattended hotel - there are no staff of any kind (other than housekeepers) and no restaurant. Everything from making your reservation to paying to checking in and getting your ”key” (there's actually no key, just a code for a pin-pad) is done online via your web browser or smartphone. So, if you are 100% comfortable with doing everything in your life via your smartphone, great. If you are the kind of person who forgets passwords or does not read instructions carefully, this is not the place for you, it will only end in heartache. That probably explains the negative reviews posted - those people didn't read and follow the instructions provided. The hotel has a ”no refund” policy, so be darn sure you are going to use the reservation once you make it and pay for it. But having said this, the price is half what you would pay elsewhere in the village for the same quality of accommodation. There are plenty of places to eat and shop within a 5 minute walk. No parking is provided, and it is very difficult to find a parking space in this village. This is not a good place to stay if you arrive by car! The site is a former apartment building that has been converted to single rooms. The rooms are large, modern, Swiss-clean, and comfortable. Internet is fast and free. There are no amenities such as coffee-makers, fridges, or laundry facilities. Like most Swiss hotels, there is no air conditioning. It's in a residential area of a small, quiet village. To sum up: If you are prepared to read AND FOLLOW the instructions on the website and in the email you will receive after making your reservation VERY CAREFULLY, and if you are comfortable with a completely unattended hotel (no services or guidance available), this is a great place to stay and I highly recommend it. Otherwise, best to book into a more conventional hotel, such as the Welcome Inn which is 200 meters up the street and is a very fine hotel. PS: No check-in is possible prior to 2:00 PM in the afternoon.

Dear EMA House Team (1 Nordstrasse Zurich) I have been staying with you on and off since May 2023. I cant rate you high enough, 5 Stars don't do justice. You are a fantastic team who have accommodated all my plan changes, even when it was at a short notice due to flight cancellations etc. The place is spotless and much better than any hotel in Central Zurich. I don't even think about looking for any other place in the city. I always feel very welcome when I arrive even when it was late at night. The suites are modern, clean, specious and very comfortable. Thank you again and look forward to my next visit. Noaman Hasan
