Celine Luxury Apartments & Suites

Exquisite facilities, new materials, daily housekeeping in a small 5-room hotel at the quiet side of the city. There's easy access of city centre by local bus every 30mins or if you prefer 15min on foot. Rooms are clean, spacious with artistic illumination. Free parking & a playground at the basement are surely assets. Congrats to Mrs Xanthi for her warm hospitality! We'll be back!
Elounda Gulf Villas by Sandglass

Enjoyed 8 nights here We had a 1 bed suite which was huge, with a lovely bathroom and separate lounge Food wise was excellent from the lovely breakfasts, daily lunches by the pool and 2 dinners in the evening Service was friendly and very helpful The villas are around an hour from airport (115 € exec transfer), then in taxis 10 mins from Elounda centre (10€), 15-20 from Plaka (15-€) and 20 mins from Ag Nic (16€) The pool was empty most days as people in pool villas stayed around the villas and others went to the beach club. On a couple of days it was a bit noisy, if family’s were playing in pool, but for the majority of time it was great !!! No probs we reserving beds due to amount of people using pool Beachclub ( located just past Domes hotel) - sea was lovely there on our visit Tip is to ask reception how many people have gone down their in the 15 min courtesy bus, as again it can be busy as only 2/3 working at bar restaurant and took us 1 hour to get lunch So in summary lovely villa, great food and we might be back in the future with our girls !!!

Overall, the property and views are STUNNING. Had I known it would be this beautiful and enjoyable, I would have booked a longer stay. The staff generously upgraded our room. We stayed in a villa with a private pool, which was also stunning. I most enjoyed swimming in the sea. I agree that this property is not quite a 5-star establishment. I'd say it’s a 4 star with some 5 star qualities. Some parts of our room were not in great shape (vanity chair cushion was not attached to its base, handwriting from previous guest on bedside brochure, bath tub plug not working, low water pressure in shower, the rubber door seal to the shower was loose, etc). The price of wine is incredibly high (for context, we live in the San Francisco Bay Area, near Napa Valley, a high cost of living region where everything is expensive.) At this resort, we paid 66 euros for a bottle of rose that would have cost us 17+ USD at Whole Foods. (I had to rewrite this part of my review because I just found the exact same rose wine at the Heraklion airport for 16,70 euros. At the resort, it was 4 times that price.) While the dinners were satisfying, the quality and presentation didn't match the high cost. We felt our first meal was overpriced at 100 euros per person for a buffet-style meal. All staff were all positive, helpful, and kind. Personally, I would return to this resort; however, next time, I'd have most of my meals off campus and buy our wine at a local store to reduce the gap between quality and cost.
Naiades Marina Hotel

Lovely 3 days in Agios Nikolaos based from this small hotel. Rooms were fairly small, though adequate for 2 adults. Very clean and tastefully simple decor. All the women at the desk… Monique, Maria, Lea, and owner Nicoletta, were very helpful and knowledgeable. Beach around the corner, Ammos was small but fine for a few hours. Easy driving distance to other beaches. Good location to walk to many top-rated restaurants along port. Morning breakfast was very nice and filling. A/C (for Americans) was a bit loud and not particularly cool. Overall, pleasant stay and value!
Apollon Hotel

We arrived at Apollon Hotel at around 3am on Thursday 13th June 2024, after the hotel we had booked was unable/unwilling to provide us with the room we had booked. As you might expect, we were extremely worried about what we were going to do. All our fears were allayed when we were greeted at Apollon Hotel by Manolis, on reception. He listened to our predicament, reassured us all would be well, and showed us to the room he was happy to book us into. He made sure we knew all we needed to know, before bidding us a good night. To say we were relieved is a massive understatement! When we arose the next morning, and went down for breakfast, we were greeted by Manolis and his colleague on reception, Eleni. They both went to great lengths to make sure we'd had a comfortable night, and that we were now feeling better, after our horrendous experience at a rival hotel. Our week's stay at Apollon Hotel provided everything, and more, that we wanted or needed. The hotel is a two minute stroll to/from Ammos Beach; our room was clean, comfortable and spacious; our bed was comfortable; our balcony had a very pleasant view; the air-con was more than a match for the very high ambient temperatures; breakfast was plentiful, varied, and of a very high standard. Given the excellence of Apollon Hotel, and the level of satisfaction we experienced, it is quite something to say that the best part of our stay there was meeting and getting to know the staff there. Each and every one of them went above and beyond what could be reasonably expected; they made us feel that we were in the company of long-time friends, and we shall miss them until our return. We would unreservedly recommend Apollon Hotel.
Royal Marmin Bay Boutique & Art Hotel

Having visited Elounda on many occasions and had the pleasure of using the Icarus Beach Club attached to this hotel, we always wanted to stay here and we had the pleasure of doings so this year, having spent a few lovely days in Chania we then drive to Elounda for a 6 night stay. Nestled on the step hillside with wonderful views over Mirabello Bay and across to Elounda Village this is a truly beautiful and carefully designed hotel. Check in was quick and easy and the staff were very helpful in providing all of the necessary details about the hotel. We booked the standard Mediterranean view room which, whilst very compact, was extremely nicely decorated, comfortable bed and just enough storage space. The bathroom could have been bigger, the shower was extremely small. Our only constructive feedback is that you only get given one free bottle of water in the room for your entire stay, the rest you have to buy and even the coffee in the room is not free. In our experience this is not typical of 5 star hotels. The pool area is lovely with plenty of sunbeds, it is rare to find them all taken, the same can be said for the beach beds. Towels for pool and beach are provided and the staff in both areas are very friendly and welcoming. We are really pleased we chose this hotel and will most definitely stay again when we next visit Elounda.
