Hotel Dos Mares

Upon arriving at the hotel on September 22, the reception from the carpet was very good from the moment we entered the hotel, a very pleasant and attentive lady, the room was requested without breakfast, luckily the modality in the hotel did not exist with breakfast and yet It is offered in the sales offices. When we went up to the room we realized that the shower was broken and there was no hot water. They changed us to four rooms in which one of them had no water power and was kept without hot water. The hotel has a very beautiful colonial style but it needs remodeling. The rooms have a very strong musty smell. The two days we were at the hotel there was no response about the status of the hot water in the room. Furthermore, according to the hotel's rules, the rooms must be cleaned, because in those two days no one did the cleaning. In the bathtub the drain was clogged. I recommend that the hotel administration should review before offering a service to tourists and visitors. Otherwise everything was very good in the general sense of the hotel workers.
Starfish Las Palmas

hotel is using pictures of swimming pool, which they do not have. it belongs to other hotel and if you want to use it, than need to pay extra 35 usd/day per person. Breakfast choice was fine, room clean and with working AC, but...located between 3 night clubs/disco. that means loud music every day between 9pm and 4 am. Even strongest clubbing lovers were tired. breakfast and check in has place in other hotel. in general, I do not recommend.
Iberostar Origin Taínos

I went there between Dec3-Dec10 2024. Pros: -Beach!. When i select a sunny place the beach is top priority. Ib Tainos has a great beach! with white sand and lots of room. It is also a long strip. I went to check Ib Laguna Azul and Ib Playa Alameda and the beaches were smaller. -Workers. Most of them are friendly and are trying to help. Jeania from customer serivce is the best, she will help with any arrangements and questions. Cons: -Food. I stayed at Ib Bella vista 3 years ago and food was better. At Tainos I ate a sweet cookie of some kind and ended up with body rush which i still have it and am treating it with antihistamine as i write this. Lack of fruits and vegetables. I missed cucumbers, they only had them 1 day in 7 days. They had cabbage and lettuce and some pumpkin. No fresh cucumbers, bell peppers, broccoli, or tomatoes. As for fruits, we had bananas only one day, and the rest we had papayas, pineapple, and guava, just those. -One worker, darker skin, at the coffee bar in the lobby who worked on Dec5 in the morning was very slow. I waited 10 min for my coffee in line with other people. When my term came he served someone else who just came from another side. That is not polite. Coffee is also very bad. I went across the hotel at the coffee house and had a good coffee there. I also went to Laguna azul and had a coffee there and was good. In conclusion: Hotel grounds are nice, with lots of vegetation, beach is one of the best, workers are helpful, the food is repetitive and not much variety. Pizza was the best food for me there and not because i eat junk food, i am used to eat lots of veggies and fruits and was just not enough of variety there. And yes, they had eggs, I was reding reviews that they did not have them.
Hotel Playa Vista Azul
4.4/543 Reviews
This was our third visit to Playa Vista Azul, and the experience continues to impress! The premium staff, particularly Arasay, Diana, Yuri, and our housekeeper, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. They were incredibly friendly and provided excellent service throughout our visit. A special thank you to the team for helping my husband plan a wonderful surprise for my birthday—it truly made our trip unforgettable. The premium restaurant staff were also very welcoming and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. While the food was just okay, it was still enjoyable, though there is room for improvement, especially given occasional shortages. The resort is well-maintained and clean, but we noticed that the common public washrooms could use more attention in terms of upkeep. Despite these minor issues, Playa Vista Azul remains one of our favorite destinations, and we highly recommend it for its outstanding staff, excellent service, and warm atmosphere. Looking forward to visiting again!
Starfish Varadero

May 17th - 31st This was my 8th time staying here I believe and it certainly did not disappoint. The WIFI internet was decent and available all around the resort! The food was good and acceptable. Ice cream and desserts were the best. The hamburgers were a pleasant surprise with their local condiments! The late night sports bar and grill was the place to be. Air conditioned room with sports tv, pool tables, drinks, and a grill. As long as one visits Varadero to have fun, nobody will be disappointed. It's a utopia, that's all there is to it! Please upgrade and renovate the bathrooms! Tips: - Bring your own toilet paper, candy, sauces, condiments, foaming hand soap, bathtub and shower cleanser, scrub pads, soap bars, razors, shaving foam, - Take a visit to the International bank downtown Varadero to exchange CDN or US dollars into Pesos. Easier to spend with tipping and local restaurants with Pesos. Both have both currencies just in case. - Repeat guests: ask for an extension in your room past check-out time if you need. It should be free if you are a repeat guest.
Villa Tortuga

The hotel is close to the beach, less than 50 meters on foot, and includes 3 meals a day. In a country where Cuba is lacking in material, it is good to have such a hotel and the scenery is very good.
